I've never been a fan of any sport other than pool when i accidentally clicked a tournament video of Efren. He has the magic spell to guide d ball. Since then, it is my habit already to watch any video of any tournament. Such a joy to watch him especially when his opponent got mad/angry/irritated and he just smile and say "it is just a luck".

Wow. What a match. As in previous times, Efren seemed to change at the end and get more serious. He was more careful and aggressive. He did make minor mistakes in positioning but his skill when he's focused is such that he can get away with it. Efren truly amazing. The GOAT.

He's just the greatest at a few pool games. Depends on what you play if he's the greatest. Most pool players don't even make enough money to pay the rent. If you're not top 20 you're broke.

As I watch Efren sitting there looking tired both mentally and physically, I wonder if most people realize how incredibly body and soul sucking international travel is. After 9/11 it got down right insane. Herded like cattle watching delayed messages scrolling... Then into the plane and for Efren flights 15 hours were common. Then its restless nights in a hotel at night and day brings matches against younger hungry players with incredible skill, some learned and want to be the next "magician".

I didn’t think Bata Efren as great and legendary he is has had enough in his tank left to overcome the deficit he was in at 9-7 against a very prepared, methodical player in Tholssen. I have watched countless videos of Efren… He has always showed Great sportsmanship. Efren isn’t only playing Billiard he is a Master chess player… which he’s able to adjust to his opponent… style of play, When encountered with a player like Efren you have to realize he’s studying your Strength and Weakness…. to Win especially when Money is at stake… other than that I think he Loves the game !!!
If you are ever in the Huntsville Alabama area just stop by Steve's Cue and Grill - - - as you walk in you will see a picture of Efren and I on the left just outside the entrance of my cue repair shop - - - I'm there every week, if I'm not in my shop just walk up to the bar and look to your right - - - I am normally setting at the first table having coffee or unsweetened tea if I am not teaching someone how to shoot pool - - - if you shoot pool, since I own all the Diamond pool tables in the bar, the table time will be on me and I will let you break!

I have played with a friend that seemed to never miss getting good possition and rarely missed making a ball he wanted to make. He has played in Vegas and in several states in the north east U.S. with moderate success. I have asked him who he thought was the best player world wide. He said that in Efren,s prime he was the best the world has ever seen and I agreed with him.
