for anyone that doesn't kill animals for products etc, I have enormous healthy magnolias, both in-ground and potted, and I use a good potting soil, some coco-peat, perlite, slow release fertiliser and I love to use alfalfa meal, all together as a great mix. In fact its my go-to mix for most of the garden! hope that helps someone! :)
the soil around my magnolia tree (soulangeana) had been disrupted, what should I mix to help the build the soil level around it? Can I use what you recommended?
What size container do you have? I have a 4 ft tree in a plastic pot and am trying to decide whether to plant in ground or in container, but the backyard is just 20x20 so need to plant close to house .
Yes,he could of pruned the plant of the root first and just keep an eye on it.I use Organic Lifter for most of my plants and they love it.Do this in Autumn and Spring with plenty of water, immediately.😊😘👍
When I watched Jin on the in the jungle show ,he wanted to and tried to take care of everyone, Jin is young but he has a natural leadership and cares for others , helping them providing ,its in his soul . I see someone as young as the others , but responsible and kind , being a big brother to others ❤ he will make a good leader in the army 😊 and so will hobi , he is also guides and supports 😊❤
I was thinking the same thing. You just cut the thick root that was strangling the rest of the system and let them breathe again. Tap roots that thick usually are for stability, not nutrient transfer, so cutting it shouldnt have even effected it at all. Especially since the finer more important roots would be able to do their job better. Hopefully he saved, and repurposed it.
Hi! So we just got a Southern Little Gem Magnolia just like the ones in this video . Do you know if we have to worry about root spread and planting too close to the house?
Hello! I found your video because I I was given 3 little cuttings of grandiflora or teddy bear and I hope to root them. I believe they were all considered “suckers” if that means anything. I’ve got quite a bit of stem and leaves to work with on 1 so I may even turn it into 2 cuttings. I’ve read to not keep much stem, cut 1inch vertical line, clip most leaves in half (not sure why?) and put direct in soil. Would you agree or anything you can add? Root hormone recommendation? I’ve heard the success rate for this is 50% at best, and I don’t know if I’ll ever have this chance again so I want to give it my best💛 my heart is in the southeast and this beautiful tree is a great reminder of things that feel like home to me. I hope to do it justice growing here in Phoenix AZ! Thank you so much for your time :) Krissy
This was my thought as well. Seems like even one magnolia would be too large for that yard. They grow slow but at maturity all the magnolia's I've seen are massive.
i have a magnolia up front and I hate it. it drops so many leaves. Clean it up and theres tons of leaves the next day. My other trees don't create so much mess.
I guess he did not want people to know what the nutrients were. He said so fast and in brit accent that I could not decipher it even after listening to it several times.

This tree could have likely been saved if they pruned that root out and replanted it right.
I do it all the time
RIP to that other plant that was strangling itself

For the non australians, magic mulch was cow manure sprinkle of potash, blood and bone gypsum and sulphur
I’m not Australian but I understood everything he said))))

Wonderful video! So well presented, good information, top quality! Love it! I learned a lot!
Those are everywhere in Florida! Doing well!
I want to plant some magnolia trees for my future grandchildren to climb
Very good sharing 👍🌿
thank you for all the information
Very informative!
What should i do with left over of flowers in my little gem. I believe it will be the seed pod. Should i leave it there or cut it off. Thanks
How far away from a house should a magnolia be and can they be transplanted?
Cut the root?
The root bound magnolia couldn’t be saved?

Repurposed=Repot>Resale😉😆
where do I get all of that, here in the U.S.?

No magnolia roots aren't invasive. I have a few near my house. They grow best the service
Would this variety have a troublesome root system?
There you go, $400 spent for just one plant and some fancy fertilisers.

Do they have any idea how big those trees get?
They may be a dwarf variety such as Little Gem.
These are 80 ft trees in my area. Will they not get that big there? Also you could have cut that root
They prune up quite well. A lot of people will us them as a hedge/privacy screen. Either that or they don't know or care.

Little Gem is a dwarf cultivar.
There's smaller varieties like Little Gem and Teddy Bear that only get to maybe 25 feet tall. Shouldn't be planted that close to the fence, though.
That is a waste of a plant. He could have pruned the plant and it's route. It would take longer time but it saves money from buying another new plant.
What are the nutrients he added?
Sulphur isn’t a nutrient
It’s for changing the PH
What a way to help, Just throw away the plant. Complete lazy gardening.
Well he is a professional
Ya professional salesmen😆
That much sulphur will not lower the ph any measurable amount.
Yes that tree was savable..
I know this as a fact.

He’s Australian.
His accent is terrible I couldn't understand a word 😂😂😂😂
ricardo gonzalez that’s offensive.
@@ricardogonzalez4367 So what? Some people probably would find your accent hard to understand too.
He speaks very clearly
Magnolia trees are best in the wood chipper. Worst plant ever
Just plant it a little lower ….don’t do what he said
