It doesn’t matter the type of dog breed you have it’s the owners that should be punished and yes some dogs are too far gone to become tame but it matters how the dog is raised and if raised correctly it will be tame and there would be no need for alarm but owners have a responsibility to keep their dog in check.
Instead of banning any dog ,dogs should require muzzles, licences and insurance , they wouldn't insure a chavy little lad for a dog like this the same as they wouldnt get insured for a powerful car ,and i think we can all agree the main problem this breed faces is in fact the chavy little lads who love the tough image and who have no idea how to control or raise a large breed correctly

It's not some bad breeding they are all badly bred, overbred to make them more powerful and aggressive. it's not the dog's fault they can't help their genetics but these dogs are dangerous, used by many to intimidate because they know how dangerous they are. These dogs are everywhere and they not easy to control I watched a video yesterday from my local newspaper of an XL who pulled and the owner, a grown man let go the lead, it went on to attack an elderly lady and her dog. He did manage to capture it eventually but it pulled again, he fell and it dragged him along the street on his back until he was forced to let go and it ran off round the corner. We can't have these dogs risking lives, it's not fair on them but something drastic has to be done. Once they are banned there needs to be better control of potentially dangerous dogs, there has to be some kind of law in place that forces responsible ownership otherwise, we will find another, possibly even more dangerous breed in our communities.

Rishi Sunak is right. We can't take chances. These owners would soon change their minds if a child of theirs is attacked, disfigured or even killed. Its dlways OK when it's other's children? Well, that's wrong. They are worst than the animals.
This guys arguments fall flat. I agree that poor ownership adds to the problem but the breed itself is a problem due to the sheer size and capabilities it possesses. When it is a hopeless situation for who or whatever they are attacking, then it is clearly too dangerous to be out in public. Why risk lives? I guarantee if these people fighting in favor of saving the xl bully or one of their loved ones had been turned on by one of these dogs they would be speaking very differently - and that’s if they survived the ordeal. Also it’s a weak argument to say that there are other dangerous breeds. Doesn’t mean you leave the XL bully to continue wreaking havoc - injuring/killing innocent people and dogs! the whole dangerous dog act is being revised anyway so Cane Corso, Press Canario etc will most likely also be looked at.
I quite agree, and all the dogs deemed too dangerous/risky to insure need to be banned too. There are a lot more dangerous breeds than I realised, and my worry is the people who have bullies now will get Cane Corso's, Kangal's, Bully Kutta's etc instead. All of these breeds are totally unsuitable to be pets, and that's an understatement!
Even seemingly capable owners who train and discipline them can’t handle them. I’ve seen plenty dragging their owners down the street because of their sheer power and build. They’re just not suitable as pets and the risks too great.

This is essentially what it boils down to. Everyone can argue till their blue in the face about whether the dog or owner is to blame but the simple fact is this single breed has been responsible for the vast majority of cases so something has to be done. Introducing regulations to monitor owners is by far more complicated and time consuming than just banning the breed. Right decision by the government.

Always have this BSL/DDA debate and people say they are friendly nanny dogs and it’s all the owners fault, yet all these bully breeds seem to have cocker spaniel “cocker rage syndrome” where they just snap out of nowhere.
@ mbplove Yes! Cocker Spaniel Rage syndrome is a genetic defect! The skull stops growing before the brain is finished growing. So the dog has neurological issues from a damaged brain.
Heres a good rule of thumb....Don't own a dog that you cannot control. A dog that is too strong to hold back. Don't own a dog you can't keep in a yard. Muzzle them too. I don't know what possesses people to own such powerful dogs, but it's obvious that people are not capable of training them properly. Impound loose dogs immediately. Fine owners for leaving dogs loose. Fine owners for not muzzling big dogs. Bring in mandatory training, dog licensing and microchipping with fines imposed for failing to comply.
Don't own a dog you cannot control ? but there are many bad dog owners who can control these type of dogs but the sad truth is they enjoy blood sports and letting the leash go.
Yeah, that's all we need - more firearm deaths! Get real and just ban the dogs! Have you seen what's happening in America? - 48,000 gun deaths each year.

Interesting how the Govt finds it so easy to legislate against certain breeds of dogs when legislating against certain breeds of people seems to be impossible for them.
If XL bully’s have been crossbred to create this size and stature of dog I imagine the main genetic family is a pit bull. If it is would they not be illegal anyway as a pit cross breed ?. I think it’s unfair that all bully’s will be persecuted but the fact is that this type of dog historically was bred for hunting/bear baiting/protection. If it is already genetically predisposed to hunt and hold on it’s going to have some sort of trigger and the Frankenstein size of some them they will cause serious damage or death. They should ban breeding them and any current ones should be muzzled and on a leash in public, registered/microchipped and neutered.
@ teaandbiscuits723 (Also fines, threat of seizure for those who do not clean up after their dog) Spaying/castration should be required for for all pets to acquire a license. Exceptions can be made for responsible dog breeders (outside of city limits) with their own legal requirements.
Amazing news. The animal behaviourist is talking absolute nonsense about it always being about the fault of the owner as there are examples of these types of dogs that had entirely responsible owners and had never shown any aggressive behaviour until one day they just flipped and killed a child. If a dog needs to be trained not to attack, it's the dog.

Small dogs attacking is not acceptable either and obviously the owners should have been dealt with and the interviewer is a dick. But its easy to get away with mistakes that aren't deadly.
@@liestricks I own a rescue, I also train dogs for a living, saying “small dogs aren’t deadly” is hilarious. I’ll give you some examples. A Jack Russell killed a 8day old child in its crib in 2009. Owners on multiple occasions have came to me for training, being out on walks with their friendly dog, being savaged by a smaller breed, this in turn made the dogs fearful, to which that dog became reactive to other dogs. Out of pure fear, who’s to blame? The big dog when the little one caused the fear. On occasion I’ve known people who have been attacked by a chow chow, their dog has reacted, the dogs have gotten into a fight. Owner in between. Owner seriously injured. I know a man who is blind in one eye and 75% blind in the other due to a chihuahua I’ve had service dogs lose their job being unable to focus on their handler due to fear of being attacked by another dog, another deadly situation as that dog can no longer give cues to low blood pressure, a seizure etc. This whole ideology that a dog isn’t dangerous purely based on their size is simple minded all dogs in the wrong hands can be deadly. Ensuring training. Proper socialisation and mental stimulation for any dog is essential, dogs learn from other dogs behaviour. The actual statistic is 22% for bully breed owners, a figure which is far more realistic considering they are a very popular dog breed in the UK, labs and golden retrievers actually take up more bites on dogs than any other breed. American Bullys were never bred to fight. They were bred in the mid 1990s for a dog with good temperament, so genetically speaking excluding unethical breeding, they should have a better genetic make up than most other dog breeds. The trouble here is, can you lean into aggression? Of course you can, but that has to be done by our hands. Not theirs. If you know anything about genetics. A breakthrough was made in the 1930s by Jay lush an expert in genetics, he was the one who found out how genetic variation works, finding the best ways to narrow the genetic make up down for domestic animals, being able to make dogs more docile. Greyhounds faster etc. I’d suggest doing some research. This whole idea you have is clouded by mainstream media, yes fatalities occur more with this breed, I’ll accept that, but if you break it down. Look at their popularity. Look at them compared to any other dog breed. They’re no different from any other dog, you speak about worrying correlation. But don’t see the fact they’ve been here since 1990 and they’ve only just became a problem? Why is that? Put two and two together and realise that it’s people creating this issue, and blaming a dog for how it looks is ridiculous. Because I can guarantee you. In 3-5 years. This exact same issue will happen with Kangals. Dobermans. Rotties. Staffies. Akitas. Canes. Malis. Gsd. Til what? We ban all dogs killing thousands a year, with hundreds more children killed til we finally adress the fact it’s is messing these dogs up?
The owner of any dog that kills humans should be charged with ‘Manslaughter’ !!

Always have this BSL/DDA debate and people say they are friendly nanny dogs and it’s all the owners fault, yet all these bully breeds seem to have cocker spaniel “cocker rage syndrome” where they just snap out of nowhere.
@ mbplove
Yes! Cocker Spaniel
Rage syndrome is
a genetic defect!
The skull stops growing
before the brain is finished
growing. So the dog has
neurological issues from
a damaged brain.
Is crazy how it’s not already enforced that Bully XLs should be muzzled in public. Just mental.
Don't own a dog you cannot control ? but there are many bad dog owners who can control these type of dogs but the sad truth is they enjoy blood sports and letting the leash go.
It's crazy to own a creature you need to spend all your time trying to train it to be different from what it is.
There are no good dogs only good -owners- reasons to ban them.
Good. Get rid of them.
Legalise firearm carrying, take some responsibility and protect yourself.
Yeah, that's all we need - more firearm deaths! Get real and just ban the dogs!
Have you seen what's happening in America? - 48,000 gun deaths each year.
Good. It's not about the owner with these type of dogs, they're dangerous.
About the only thing Rishi has done right.. theres to many scallys on the street with these dogs.. to those who will say im wrong my question is could you fight one of these animals off it it attacked you.. and the gentleman being interviewed i say i see more of these dogs on the street where i live than a mastiff
I doubt Rishi has ever been around XLs or knows anything about the breed
@ teaandbiscuits723
(Also fines, threat of
seizure for those who
do not clean up after
their dog)
Spaying/castration
should be required for
for all pets to acquire
a license.
Exceptions can be made for
responsible dog breeders
(outside of city limits) with
their own legal requirements.
Amazing news. The animal behaviourist is talking absolute nonsense about it always being about the fault of the owner as there are examples of these types of dogs that had entirely responsible owners and had never shown any aggressive behaviour until one day they just flipped and killed a child. There is absolutely no reason to promote and own a dog that is so easily capable of killing.
Dogs are animals (fauna)
People are animals (fauna)
With animals it is usually
50% nature (genetics)
50% nurture (environment)
The percentages may not
be 50/50 but both influence
the fauna.
Absolutely right that the problem lies in the other end of the lead. What a lovely man Jordan is. A true animal lover and sensible dog owner. No doubt these dogs can be riled into violence by brutal, irresponsible owners though.
So what's your solution? Should people have to pass a test in order to get a dog licence? What would it involve?
@@mrpopo8298it’s not a hard concept. You have a licence to drive, why wouldn’t you have a license for anything that has the ability to kill? The same people saying a ban will help will be the same people crying in 5/10 years time that cane corsos beome popular and there would be the same amount of dog deaths, you’re looking to address the aftermath. Not the route cause of the problem, so yes a test, a course, a background check, a general standard of dog training that’s not abusive and causes more issues? Banning backyard breeders that pump out dog after dog with neurological issues, if you take responsibility of something. It’s your responsibility.
@@mrpopo8298 They could do exactly what they did when they banned Pitbulls, made the owners join a register, muzzle them when taken out in public, get them chipped and assess them for aggression. Have to say though many were taken from their owners and put down unnecessarily, when they were not even aggressive because of the knee-jerk reaction to attacks, there are good owners who care for their dogs and there are the irresponsible owners.
@@Willxors OK, that's fine. Good luck with that. Also, it's not addressing the aftermath to ban potentially dangerous dogs. Addressing the aftermath would be putting down dogs after they have already attacked someone. Banning the breed would be as much a preventative measure as your licence idea.
Yeah it’s not the breed, look at all the fatal Labrador attacks there’s been 😏
Good man Rishi!
Ban them!
Ban all lock jaw dogs!
Good they are highly dangerous Dogs, I support the PM on this matter.
The pattern exists on the other end of the leash . That was a great point made
Yes, glad you mentioned it, thank you.
true i own a polar bear, and train it well. hes called foo foo. if a polar bear was in the wrong hands then i worry for them
@@kennyloggins465
Stop being overdramatic your analogy is pathetic
Licenses will just be ignored and enforcement will be impossible. In terms of a list, it is very easy to put together. Draw up the list and anything not on it is banned (and don't put a single mastiff on it). And guys like this really piss me off. I was once attacked by an American bulldog and its owner said exactly the same stuff, 'oh you must have provoked it' 'it's so well-trained' 'it is so loving and such a softy' blah blah blah. Only weeks later it attacked its owner too and almost ripped her arm off. These animals are capable of such damage, why even take the risks?
Ah yes "well trained" Siegfried and Roy where so good and training they had tigers jumping around. Doesn't mean it wasn't a bad idea to forget they can rip some ones head off. Why is it any different with a dog if its just as capable of inflicting harm?
@@liestricks
If it has teeth it can bite.
That said the PSI of
a "Bully" breed's bite
can crush bones and
kill.
A German Shepherd Dog
might maul someone but
it's bite is not any stronger
than a Dalmation's or a
hound's bite.
So he “rescued” a purebred , super healthy cropped ear, perfect coat pattern, intact dog.
Sounds fishy to me
It’s about time
He can ban the dogs quick enough. But cannot ban the boats.
American Bullies were first bred in the 90's as a family companion: famed for their obedience, loyalty courage as well as being highly outgoing and sociable. Sadly because of their size and power they attract the absolute worst type of dog owners. Therefore reckless breeders fill the demand. People who want a big, scary looking dog to look tough in their council estates and have an accessory to show off their anti-social behaviour orders.
Firm licenses/regulations for breeders and owners need to be enforced. People should have to show an adequate level of responsibility and knowing what the fuck they're doing.
If you made all American Bully owners and breeders take an IQ test there would be predictable results. Banning them will do absolutely nothing. These people will just move onto another large and powerful dog breed which will now become the most "dangerous dog". Should we just ban every large dog?
Family companion, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA pull the other one.
What a load of bullshit.
@@brettharter143hahaha is exactly the response someone who knows absolutely nothing about dogs would give because they have nothing of substance to say
I get big XL dogs if you need them for work. In that protecting a Police Officer. However, I know big `playful` dogs knock over old ladies and children.
They were bred to fight bulls. They have gigantic jaws for a larger bite radius. They also will NOT let go in reaction to pain unlike other dogs (see the plenty of videos of them hanging from ropes/trees for 20 minutes straight)
They were then used in dog fighting, especially undergound rings in the 80s after America outlawed it. XL Bullies have been bred to get around the pitbull ban as they're literally too heavy to be classified as pitbulls.
They were NEVER family dogs. This lie kills children; stop spreading it,
Difference get attacked by a chihuahua get attacked by an XL.🤷🏼♀️ put a muzzle on them…
Licensing, training and responsibility for dogs conduct should lie solely with the registered owner. Dogs don't just 'flip'
Poor breeding practices and bad genetics. There's a science to breeding. Drug dealers shouldn't be breeding dogs
dogs like hugs and cuddles and strokes and kisses and din dins and long walks and be off the lead and sitting next to owner and watching owner so i dont see how it could flip. until u stupidly rag its head with chew rope consistently making it mad and aggressive and to bite. i have an american bandog big giant dog thats 7 months and soft as fuck.
Yes `Licensing, training and responsibility` of the owner too. Dogs, do flip. If you look at a CT scan of dogs brain, then any dog has the ability to ` flip from calm to a killer. Thankfully most dogs stay in the calm state thankfully.
Check out the bennard family tragedy in October last year. These dogs really do just flip. After all they were bred for blood sport.
@GretsGarbo I believe in a beginning , a middle and an end to every story. The media version of ‘ out of nowhere it just flipped’ clearly convinces you otherwise, more fool you.
End of fhe year far too late. Sort this now. Asap. Sleepy Sunak. Speed this up.
Thanks respectfully.
I won't have this dogs sniffing on me on pedestrian walkways with onlooking owners standing by who ought to be held culpable under the criminal justice system. Why should another human being die or suffer before the full force of law hold sway?
Western society isn't for you. In the west we are dog friendly..go home.
@@maddogsenglishmen8020 To peaceful dog breeds not these monsters.
@silver4831 popularity ruins any dog breed because once a breed becomes popular every person jumps on breeding them for a quick buck. Bad genetics and poor breeding practices create dangerous dogs. A dog bred professionally is not dangerous.
We know what an illegal immigrant is and we can watch them arrive yet we can’t deal with them , what chance a pet that’s already here and in someone’s home/ kennel.
The idiots who can’t handle these dogs will just find another latest trend breed when i was a boy it was rotties and Doberman don’t hear anything about them because the idiots moved onto the next breed pitbull now it’s the xl bully
What about the english bullterrier or the staffie? They dont kill people or attack people its extremely rare they are the two breeds who are most living towards himans out of all breeds
@Diceman890they all look horrible in my opinion
Bans dogs but not boats ?
great news
They come for my Staff they will have to put me down first.
Can we put down Rishi Sunak as he also has a pattern of behaviour that is not safe for our communities.
Its like mini lioness
Here we go with the usual dog apologists saying "It's not the dog, it's the owner/I know someone with one of these dogs and it's lovely". It really is time to face reality i.e. it IS the dog. ALL dogs are unpredictable, witness the frequency with which owners of dogs that have been aggressive/worried and killed livestock, whatever their size or breed, claim "He/she has never done that before." If a dog needs to be trained not to attack, it's the dog.
To all the people saying don’t ban the dog, punish bad owners. Can someone explain how they would actually go about this? Genuinely wondering as I can imagine ownerships of these types of dogs aren’t gonna be easy to pin down especially if they are bought through illegal breeding practices.
This is the issue. He states his dog was attacked, got so scared he defecated himself, and the interviewer laughed like it’s funny, now tell me who’s fault it would of been if basil became reactive due to being attacked? His. It’s fine when little dogs attack due to bad ownership, but when big ones do it’s the end of the world? Get a grip.
I’m sorry but you’re being dense on purpose. A small dog can’t do much damage at all but a big dog can easily kill someone, especially these mutant bully breeds that are only bred for status symbols.
I know a man who is blind in one eye and 75% blind in the other due to a chihuahua
I’ve had service dogs lose their job being unable to focus on their handler due to fear of being attacked by another dog, another deadly situation as that dog can no longer give cues to low blood pressure, a seizure etc.
This whole ideology that a dog isn’t dangerous purely based on their size is simple minded all dogs in the wrong hands can be deadly. Ensuring training. Proper socialisation and mental stimulation for any dog is essential, dogs learn from other dogs behaviour. It’s as simple as that, and there are many forms of aggression people do not realise, and to justify one being acceptable then blaming another dog for what it’s learnt from owners as being acceptable and certain situations is idiotic.
@@Willxorsjack russels arent the cause of 50% of dogs attacks in the UK. Of course theres going to be anomalies in other breeds if they’ve been taught aggressive behaviour since birth. Bully breeds being bred to fight AND being the number 1 breed in attacks and fatalities for other dogs is quite a worrying correlation.
@@lemontrickle6033 are you physically incapable of reading? Are they responsible directly, no I’m not saying that. But indirectly yes, small breeds are very capable of causing problems.
This is where it gets funny because you can tell who gets their information from the news and who actually knows what they’re talking about;
So bully breeds, 50%, not true in the slightest or atleast half true, what the media and government do is emphasise their statistics by using statistics provided from the police force. The police force obviously do not come out for attacks of minor injuries, hence the statistic of bully breeds is so high as they’re physically more capable of doing damage.
If you’re interested there’s a full breakdown from pet insurance companies who record ALL reported bites on dogs and people due to insurance purposes.
