Hey, Thanks for the video, very informative. I do have some general questions. What fuel are the power gains recorded with. Where I am, I can only get 91oct, is 400-450whp feasible with that low grade fuel? Do you need to upgrade internals if you are just looking for 400/450whp from this turbo swap? Thank you!

Hey Jason, you're welcome, that's why we're here! The power gains you'll get will ultimately be 100% dependent upon the supporting mods, the fuel, AND the tune. To push up to 450WHP you'll be north of 500 at the crank, and to accomplish that you'll definitely need to have intake, downpipe, exhaust, an intercooler and an aggressive tune, but that should be achievable on 91 octane. Getting past this point would require things like a fuel pump, injectors, and an E85 conversion. Upgrading internals shouldn't be necessary at this level of power, most people that are pushing these motors to the limit are not having to do any of those mods until they get past 600WHP. The Precision Turbo kit is a direct drop-in replacement, with no requirements for custom fabrication or mounting, and can support up to 600HP (crank) with all the mods I listed above, and of course and aggressive tune. We've got that kit for you, in stock, right here: www.motoroso.com/p/913212-turbonetics-precision-turbo-11918-focus-rs-turbo-swap-kit---fits-2015---2018-ford-focus-rs-23l-ecoboost

No, not at all, this turbo kit is designed as a direct bolt in factory replacement that comes with all the hardware and tubing you need. Bolt it on and tune it and with a stock motor you’ll see a 90+whp gain, and you can push up to 600hp with other supporting mods if you wanna go crazy.
On the Focus RS it’s a trickier install, but it’s not too hard, we’re going to be making a video of the installation here in about a month.
The kit is available and in stock here: www.motoroso.com/p/913212-turbonetics-precision-turbo-11918-focus-rs-turbo-swap-kit---fits-2015---2018-ford-focus-rs-23l-ecoboost

Hi. I'm running Mountune M400X with all the supporting mods and then some: forged pistons and conrods, uprated head gasket, Airtec intercooler, Mountune air intake and charge pipe upgrade, Mountune downpipe and cat back, Quaife ATB diff, and a few other bits and pieces.
Three questions for you, if you don't mind.
    1) Does this turbo need to be mapped in?
    2) what sort of power gains could I expect; and
    3) this only seems to be available from the US. I live in the UK. Would there be any issues buying from US and fitting to my RS in the UK?
    Cheers!

Hi Chris, that's an impressive list of supporting mods, and will definitely enable you to push your tune a lot more aggressively! The exact gains you would get from this kit is really tough to predict, and has a LOT to do with how you set up your tune. I'd feel comfortable saying that with a modest tune you'd see ~60-70HP bump, but could possibly push that well over +100HP gain. The kit is rated to support up to 600HP, that would be with a really aggressive tune and all the possible supporting mods. Sounds like you've got most of the supporting mods you would need, the only thing that might become a bottleneck would be the fueling system.
      Your Questions:
      1) If by "mapped in" you mean customizing your tune... then ABSOLUTELY YES :-)
      2) Answered above.
      3) I'm not familiar with the UK emissions laws, so you'd need to do your own research. As far as "will the kit work" on your UK version of the car, the answer is YES, the drivetrain is identical. As far as selling and shipping the unit to you, please contact us through our Live Chat at Motoroso.com, and/or call us at 1.833.MOTOROSO (1.833.668.6767). From UK, I think you need to add 00, so it would be 00.1.833.668.6767.

@@Motoroso thanks for the comprehensive reply mate. Much appreciated. I'm really interested in this, so I might give you a shout when this pandemic business is over!
Sorry, I know very little about tuning - I just know what mods I want! How does it work - does the turbo get tuned into an existing map? I have switchable maps, which can be changed using steering wheel buttons - I love that feature and don't want to lose it. There are 5 maps slots - ranging from eco mode, to 'full-auto'.
If I went for this turbo (or any turbo upgrade) I'd get uprated fuel injectors installed at the same time.
      Cheers again.

Chris S absolutely! You’re welcome. Well, you’d really need all of those existing maps updated to adjust for the new turbo. It’s a big change to the air delivery system. So whoever made those existing 5 maps, would need to make adjustments to them.

@@Motoroso thanks once again. I'm running Mountune tunes, so I'll contact them and ask. However, I think this might be a bit of an impasse, because Mountune offer their own turbo kits. I don't know if they'd be willing to customise my tune to a non-Mountune turbo kit - their tunes are off the shelf, to go with their hardware.

    • @Motoroso
      @Motoroso  4 года назад +1

Chris S I would be very surprised if they would decline to offer tuning just because it’s not their kit. They’re a really good company, so I’d expect to see them support you when you need tuning, regardless. If they do turn you away on that basis, that would be a very lame thing for them to do. If they don’t help you, any tuner that knows what they’re doing can create tune maps for you and you can upload them to your ECU yourself using your tuner module.

Announced in 2015 for a 2016 Model Year, I think the first production ones started reaching journalists and early buyers in Sept '15. The production run for the MK3 RS was 2016-2018.
