Putting down my doberman pinscher was the saddest day of my life. I stayed with her the entire time and hugged her while looking in her eyes. I wanted her to see my face and feel my touch to know I was there with her. I stayed in the room with her for 30 mins after the vet pronounced her dead. She had osteosarcoma and three other major problems that cropped up in a 7 day period. She was still recovering from a major surgery and I couldn't put her though the pain of multiple more surgeries. I miss my best friend Ruby.
I know what you mean , Green Dagger , When my 12 year old German Shepard got sick , he seemed happy that we were on our way to the vet. It seemed almost like he knew his time here was done. I look forward to the time we meet again .
How old was Ruby? Isn't it awful how fast it happens? My girl was only 6, suddenly got cancer in her spleen & liver, jaundiced near the end. Took 3 weeks total, could have been more but she was diabetic too, so the vet said her chances were nearly zero, with endless pain & suffering. She slept in my arms every night for 6 years, my shihtzu-chihuahua mix, my Tika. I don't ask for much in life, but this is something I can't get over, it's been 5 months & still, I can't feel excitement or butterflies in my stomach for anything. Is it the same for you?
@@tobymcgroby8967 Very sorry for your lost. My Ruby passed away two yrs ago. I kept three items of hers and threw everything else out. Once every couple mouths I open the Ziploc bags just to smell the items. :-) Then close the bags quickly. I wish more people knew how much let's mean to the pet owners/parents. I heard some companies are now extending pet insurance to the health insurance policy. Another thing that makes me feel better is sometimes at night I lay in bed and think about Ruby as a way for her to come "visit me" in my dreams. In two years she has only come to visit me five times but when it happens I feel great the next morning.
@@D35TR00 I do the same thing, threw everything out except a handful of things.. When I threw out her stuff, I went to put the very-full bag into my garbage pale outside, and all her toys squeaked when I pushed down on it.. That was a rough moment! I've only dreamt of my girl twice, but both times I woke up, I could swear I was still feeling her fur on my fingertips, such a good feeling.. Hopefully we can get new dogs & see if we can bond like that again. Good luck GD

Her Vet was very kind & gentle, & I held her through it. Never cried so much in my strong but silent, adult male life. Still can't get over it, 5 months later.. However, I agree with him completely, it was peaceful, & she was spared from endless pain.
I had to put down my American Eskimo named bolt because he had a bunch of masses in his body and it was so hard at first I was sad then I started to get over it then we got a new dog and I can’t force it out of my life because my family wants him it’s a pure bred husky and I feel like my dog will know if I love another dog I have two others but this new dog doesn’t feel right at all my parents are questioning why I don’t like him but I want them to know it’s for bolt I loved him so much I got him when I was 4 and he was my very best friend I talked to him promised him I would die if he died but I broke that promise I’ve been really mentally unstable for the past 4 days I just don’t want to deal with this it sucks so bad another reason I don’t want this dog is because I will see it die in the future and the other 2 dogs I have I hate life it really sucks. He was only 10😭it’s been so hard trying to express my feelings I just want to see my dog again I want to hug him I want to hold him in my arms again I want to hear his barks again I want him to have babies I wanted him to live longer I want my best friend back that’s all I want that’s all I need right now this new dog we got made me think of bolt so much all the past memories all the fun we had all the houses we’ve been in together all the parks I just want him back when we put him down when the veterinarian put the sleepy meds in him he was up another 5 minutes than he should have been. He was trying to get it out of his system he was trying to stay alive for us and we just killed him he was loving us and we killed him he wanted to stay alive for us. He loved us so much we loved him we knew it was the best for him I just really wish he was here. I’m going to see these two other dogs die too and it’s going to be the exact same way everytime I hate it I really do. I want to travel back in time to where I had my little puppy and never saw his dead cold corpse on the table lying right next to me. Zoom bolt zoom on.
