I only wear Sex Panther. Made with real bits of Panther. 60% of the time, it works every time.
Yes.
By Odion. Quite a formidable scent. Stings the nostrils...in a good way!
ruclips.net/video/IKiSPUc2Jck/видео.html
That doesn't make sense
I'm gonna be honest, that smells like pure gasoline.
Nice list! I have not smelled most of them, but I’m looking forward to checking out the scents soon!
Brian, so glad to have found your fun and fantastic channel. I am loving the fragrance videos a lot. I am a new subscriber and I am going to be binge watching your videos and looking forward to your new ones too.
Some great sounding picks that I will need to try. From what I have in bottles I would select from Armani Prive Rose d'Arabie or Bois d'Encens, Amouage Jubilation XXV or Reflection Man, or Dior Homme Intense or Homme Parfum.
Excellent video Brian per usual. I have no personal experience with the mentioned fragrances but I am interested in the Zegna (actually I have been since I watched your collab with them) and have been thinking a rose scent would fit in quite nicely with a tux. Cheers! - Han
Not so big in fragrances myself, but it really shines through the passion that you have for this topic 👍 always enjoyable to watch your videos 👍
Thanks, Lasse!
My favorite formal fragrance is L'instant de Guerlain pour Homme Eau Extreme by Guerlain. I have the original formulation and it's really great. I have not tried the more recent formulations, but I've read they are very close. This is a very smooth and elegant men's cologne if you do not over spray.
Thanks, Pete! Will keep an eye out for that.
Nice list! I'd love to see a video on wedding fragrances for the groom. I follow a lot of fragrance reviewers and haven't seen it done, possibly b/c there's so much range in style, setting and season but it would be a great one for you to cover to show the style and describe why/how the fragrance picked is the perfect complement or final detail. I personally wore Roja Dove Enigma Parfum Cologne to my wedding which was a Fall, outdoor wedding in CA.
Back on topic if I'm going to a black tie event it's tough to pass up YSL La Nuit de l'Homme or Tom Ford Noir EDP. Others would be Royal Oud by Creed or Parfums de Marley's Layton Exclusif.
Thank you, Brian.
Some really interesting aromas in there.
You're very welcome!
Hello, interestingly, Creed Spice & Wood is undoubtedly in my top 3, the ideal winter choice on my side, and my wife's preferred one, for all the reasons you highlight. It is also rather rare, which adds to its mystery. It stays much longer on the skin than most fragrances... even compared with other Creed fragrances. Refined choice.
Thanks, Laurent! Good taste!
Thanks, Brian. I'm keen to try some of these. I was wondering if you'll create a video that shares your views about how to use fragrance -- where and how much to apply, for instance.
Sounds like a GREAT idea! Thanks!
I certainly wear spice and wood for work, love that creed fragrance. 🔥
I love your channel and perfumes, thanks for your suggestions, greetings from Lima, Peru.
Thank you for your really nice review. Learned a lot of new interesting things. 👌😇
Awesome. So glad to hear it!
Nice Video, as always. I realized, you put an ardbeg and lagavulin in the background for the scents shootings and i would like to see you presenting your top 5, or top 10 whisk(e)ys.
If you really want to turn heads I'd say *Armani Prive Cuir Majeste* is a strong contender. It's *dark mysterious fruity oudy leather tobacco incense smoke vanilla* and smells high class. It's criminally underrated, I reviewed it as I don't see many people speaking about it apart from those who know of its existence. Oud Fleur is great too, longevity is so-so I find. Another head turner is *Malik Al Taif Areej Le Dore* it's a painfully beautiful rose and skanky oud scent, if that's your thing. Great video though, I enjoyed all of your suggestions.
Just saw you on the DLI Presidio of Monterey Memorial Day Ceremony where they honored a friend of mine. He and I went to DLI together in 2003-2004 and then he went on to join Special Forces and was KIA this year. Thank you for your contribution.
Thank you for this! On my wedding day last year, I wore Poivre 23 by Le Labo. I bought it while on a trip to London and later found out that outside of September, you can only purchase the fragrance in Le Labo's London shops. Definitely an interesting take on how to evoke rarity, and sure to provoke some eye rolls, but I find this scent to be memorable, warm and elegant, and now very much linked to an unforgettable day for me. Cheers!
That's quite a description! And cool how you found it. What's it smell like?
@@hespokestyle To me, pepper (you'd hope!), tobacco, cedar and maybe a little incense which dries down to vanilla.
Great choices, very mature. Nasomatto Pardon, Gucci Pour Homme I, Amouage Jubilation, YSL Tuxedo, or Xerjoff Richwood for me.
Some of my best formal fragrances would probably be Reflection Man from Amouage, both Danger & Enigma from Roja Dove, Richwood from Xerjoff and maybe Colonia Essenza from Acqua Di Parma!
One of my favorite fall dress up scents is a gourmand from Tom Ford called Noir de Noir- Its not for everyone, but so yummy .Also if you are brave enough and like rose there is Carnal Flower from Frederic Malle.
A great one from Arquiste, if you don’t mind wearing more feminine/unisex fragrances, is flor y canto. Very nice on its own but especially if you layer it with a rugged even animalic fragrance. It’s been a winning combo in my experience.
Interesting! There are A LOT more Arquistes I'd like to try. They're so evocative.
I recommend Patou pour Homme from their Heritage Collection, Amouage Dia Man, Guerlain Heritage (very similar to Roja's Danger), Dior Homme Intense and Chanel pour Monsieur EDP. Class all the way!
Thanks! I really want to try Heritage.
This channel is class. Keep being classy. Earned a subscriber!
Thanks, Mito! Glad to have you!
Love for the bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadail in the background. Will love to see a video on whiskey.
Have done done way back but not a series I’ll continue unfortunately.
Great taste! My favorite formals are Amouage Jubilation XXV and Creed Royal Oud-the former is regal and decadent, whereas the latter is stoic and authoritative.
I know Royal Oud but not that Amouage. Can you describe it? I love your characterizations!
He Spoke Style sure! I would describe Jubilation XXV as fruity resinous incense wood. Begins with a boozy blackberry liqueur, soon joined by warm balsams and resins, highlighted by a smoky and spiritual frankincense. With time it becomes more woody, with occasional peeks of animalic Oud in the mid, ending in a sweet, resinous, and slightly dry wood. Gorgeous, opulent, and regal composition. One of my favorite scents of all time.
I was wondering maybe you can do colognes for men 50+ it would be much appreciated....Well this list pretty much nailed my question, lol, great list and great review as usual my man, stay well...
When I think of black tie, I always thinking of Roja Dove's Britannia, or Xerjoff's Alexandria II. For someone daring and confident, perhaps Dark Lord by Kilian Paris.
Well done! It's so true about expressing individuality, at least for me it is. Great taste in perfume and single malts there. Lagavulin to me is a perfume in itself. My choices are always of the mood, so if it were tonight I'd go with Roja Diaghilev. Without a doubt, less is more.
Totally agree. I like Diaghilev, but I think it's an acquired taste. Don't you think?
Hey another shout out for Roja's Diaghilev ($1,050 for 100ml). His Chypré Extraordinaire ($1,865 for 100ml) and ROJA Haute Luxe ($3,500 for 100ml) are two similar options. These are not fragrances for tooling around running errands.
@@hespokestyle Absolutely, and so is Ardbeg.
To me, Diaghilev smells like the tension in the air, like the Russian secret service waiting for a signal at the opera house.
+1 for Spice and wood. Royal Oud might deserve a look
Italian Bergamont is good. I also like Indonesian Oud from Zegna
Italian Bergamot has become my go-to Sunday best fragrance. I have your collab video with Zegna to thank for that.
Oh, wow! WAY BACK!
You are definitely the best style guy who does fragrance reviews. Is Nasomatto big in Italy? Jeremy Fragrance's new fragrance will also be called Black Tie for these types of occasions.
Many thanks, Alex. Re your question: not sure!
Thanks for the good recommendations. I'd love to one day smell Creed and TF fragrances, but everything is closed and even their samples are pricy.
My favorite dressing up fragrance so far, in my humble experience, is Bleu De Chanel. The grapefruit note is very classy, and woody undertones come to life on the dry down- but unfortunately it doesn't last as long as I'd like.
I typically stay away from citrusy fragrances for formal but I'll have to smell next time I have the opportunity.
@@hespokestyle Yeah, wait for the dry down on it and you'd see what I mean. It's hard to explain. Come to think of it, I find fragrances the hardest thing to explain of any men's products lol.
Yay a fragrance video!
Woo!
God so relaxing listening to you speak! ❤
And yes I do wear Tom Ford I love almost every Tom Ford fragrance that I've ever smell I think his fragrances suit me to a tee
Good review Brian.
May I suggest a few that I consider a black tie fragrance.
Parfum d'Habit by MPG
Fahrenheit Parfum
Eau Sauvage Parfum 2012, knowing that you like Eau Sauvage EdT.
For warmer weather you can't go wrong with Acqua di Parma Colonia or Colonia Assoluta.
Cheers from Melbourne
As always - good choices
Here are some other niche recommendations for the classic and stylish gentlemen
Mizensir Perfect Oud
Christian Dior Santal Noir
Parfum de Nicolai New York Intense
Gravitas Pour Homme by N&W
Amazing. Some I have never heard of!
My favourite formal elegant fragrances...
Heritage by Guerlain (acording to Fragrantica it smells similar to Danger Parfum pour Homme)
Herod by Parfums de Marly
Reflection Man by Amouage
Terre de Hermes EdT
Egoiste by Chanel
The One for Men EdP by D&G
L'Homme Intense by Prada
Oud for Greatness by Initio
La Nuit de L'Homme by YSL
Essenza by Acqua di Parma
Roja's Danger Pafum Cologne and Creed's Spice and Wood are perfect for black tie. I am not familiar with the others, but will definitely check out the others except Black Afgano. Suggestion for inclusion: Roja's Diaghilev Pafum also makes a big statement. Opt for a Discovery Atomizer. Have you or anyone here tried it?
I have Diaghilev. It's quite singular. Could have included it here, for sure, though I wanted to put Danger in there instead and didn't want to have two by Roja in one video. Diaghilev I find to be somewhat similar to Aramis, but more complex, more projection, and longer lasting. I've compared the two before. They're both an acquired taste, IMO, but are wonderful.
Great video Brian! By the way, when can we expect more stock in the HHS shop?
What are you looking for specifically? It's challenging for everyone right now. I don't think some of our suppliers are producing anything. Plus we're going to be transitioning a little with more tailored/MTM clothing. The pandemic put a HUGE dent in our launch plans.
For black tie, I like something opulent that I would not ordinarily wear. (Spice and Wood is in my top-five all time fragrances but is an office wear for me.) My go-to is TFPB Plum Japonais. Amouage Jubilation XXV and Nasomatto Pardon (hate Black Afgano) are good choices as well.
Need to check out Pardon. What don't you like about Black Afgano?
Tom Ford oud fleur i believe is an excellent choice!
Thanks, Eliazar! It's so amazing.
He Spoke Style I blind bought Tom Ford Oud Fleur based on your recommendation and agree that it is a perfect black tie fragrance.
Amouage Gold is my nr 1 stand out fragrance. Oppulence in a bottle
Hey Brian, well done again! I saw some Whiskey behind the fragrances, Ardbeg, Lagavulin. How about making a video of Whiskey, cheers Chris
I like a good whiskey, but I can't say I'm knowledgeable enough to make an authoritative video. It's also a format that's hard to make compelling--we've tried in the past!
Your choice tell me, you know the best whiskey of islay scotland 👍
Your Channel is very interesting! especially nowadays where no one wear classic anymore, can you please make a video how to wear in formal way 3 pcs suit especially with 3 buttons ? or they are out of style nowadays too :)
I'd go with one of the following:
Boucheron Jaïpur Homme EDT
Floris Leather Oud
Houbigant Fougère Royale
Santa Maria Novella Tobacco Toscano
Tauer Au Coeur du Désert
I've got to check out SMN Tobacco Toscano.
Just landed a bottle of Spice and Wood for under $200. My fav scent now
Nice!
I’m interested in Oud Fleur by Tom Ford, I have a bottle of Oud Wood by Tom Ford but I notice it’s not really long lasting however it’s a great scent. Not sure how these two would compare.
For a more affordable option to niche I'd definately go with Terre d'Hermes or the original Dior homme
Thanks for chiming in!
Hi Brian, I'm doing some research into what fragrance to wear at my wedding, it will be outdoors in the early summer next year. What would be your choice for the event? Thanks
From this video, I'd recommend the Zegna. Or Roja Vetiver!
He Spoke Style Thank you for the advice, I’ll order some testers straight away!
I love those pictures behind you! Where did you find those prints?
Thanks, Steve. They're our own photos. Some favorites that we put on canvas.
Hi Brian, are you familiar with Frederic Malle's fragrances or the Replica line of fragrances by Maison Margiela?
Brian - great video. I own a few of these fragrances and besides being a fashion-lover, I also collect both designer and niche fragrances. My favourite black-tie fragrance is YSL's Tuxedo - Tuxedo is a elegant and dark with accords of patchouli and spices including coriander. It also has a very nice vanilla bourbon note. For a formal designer fragrance, I typically wear Prada L'Homme Intense. Prade L'homme Intense has iris and amber with notes of leather and patchouli, while tonka bean gives it an oriental signature. I have Creed Spice and Woods as well as Roja Dove's Danger - both great formal scents.
Interesting. I must say I'm not a fan of powdery fragrances for myself, like Layton, for example. How does Tuxedo compare?
@@hespokestyle Tuxedo isn't powdery - I will say Prada L'Homme Intense has iris and thus more powdery. Tuxedo is more spicy with bourbon vanilla. It's from YSL's Exclusive line.
Chanel Sycomore is a beauty if you like refined masculine fragrances.
Thanks for the recommendation!
I love Ermenegildo Zegna Javanese Patchouli over Italian Bergamot, Javanese patchouli has the same bergamot opening but has the most sophisticated patchouli I've come across in a perfume, it's non-medicinal and non-chocolatey for patchouli dominant fragrance and it lasts a good 7-8hrs average.
Java Patchouli, Italian Bergamot, Pink Pepper, Cedarwood, and Tonka bean.
I should try Creed Spice & Wood, thanks for the recommendation :D
Thanks for chiming in, Varnu! If you're looking for a very elegant patchouli, I highly recommend Arquiste Misfit. Sort of mind-blowing.
@@hespokestyle I will, thanks :)
How do I find the fragrances that you put in this RUclips ad
I've been shying away from Tom Ford, but am interested in Our Fleur (which is funny because I tend to dislike Ouds), also Roja Parfums Danger.
I know I mentioned it before, but thinking of a fragrance for my own wedding. where I'll be wearing a tux....I am leaning towards two scents Vetiver Extraordinaire and Musc Ravageur (I'm lucky we're planning for next fall/winter because otherwise Musc Ravageur would be too heavy) both by Frederic Malle.
I'm interested in trying Musc Ravageur. Can you describe it?
@@hespokestyle it's like a vampire in an old Victorian manor. Kidding, kind of. It's kind of a heavy and musky vanilla scent, with hints of warm spice. It is far too pronounced for non fall/winter days, but the handful of times I've sprayed it on it was noticed and complimented. One of the few super heavy fragrances I like. If you've tried labdanum 18 from Le Labo, it's very similar to that, but more pronounced.
Though Vetiver Extraordinaire is my lead contender to go with my tux because it feels elevated and clean. But I haven't settled on a scent yet, so found this video super helpful.
Creed Spice and wood is amazing 😁😁😁
Agreed.
Golf clap for the Islay Scotch whiskies on the bar 👏🏻
Haha yes!
Thanks as always, Brian. Bleu de Chanel is the only fragrance I own as of now. Thoughts on that one?
I actually don't know it believe it or not!
It's a classic, can't go wrong
@@SR-dw6io Thanks. I appreciate it. I may also end up shopping around for something else eventually, so I'll keep these ones in mind.
It's a great fragrance as a 'quiver of one' meaning if you only have one fragrance, it's versatile and appropriate across seasons and styles
Giorgio Armani Aqua di Gio Profumo without any question. If a powersuit could smell, that scent would be the Profumo. I also like to wear the legend Boss Bottled while I’m in the office or on a business trip. Both works very well.
Sweet!
Given your choices you might like Kilian. Just avoid Dark Lord. I did a photoshoot for that one a while ago and I couldn't find anyone who liked it in the 5 days I had it ^^
Interesting. Thanks for the tip!
I have 3 colognes that's I've had for 15-20yrs that only 3 random strangers know about and I get so many compliments from them. I try not to wear them often bc I bought them in Europe and I paid like €150+/ea I've only had to re-purchase them 2x 3yrs ago
What are your thoughts on Creed Aventus
Which part of your body do you usually spray your fragrances? Specially an intense one like Nasomatto black
Chest.
Well done! I have been considering purchasing a tux. Must it always be black? I have seen a few dark blue that look nice in double breasted.
Midnight blue also acceptable.
I wear a lot of heavy fragrances I think they stand up to my body chemistry I normally don't like citrus or fresh and clean
Have you ever tried the Hermes Boutique edition of Poivre Samarcande?
I have not.
That Tom Ford is off the charts
Agree
Just wondering, how much Cologne does one apply? Is this a seasonal consideration or the strength of the Cologne? TY.
Absolutely dependent on the particular fragrance, including whether it's EDT or EDP.
It depends on many factors including your body chemistry. Test drive 2 or 3 sprays a wearing initially then go from there if you need/should use more.
I love wearing Tom Ford Ombré Leather to formal events/weddings. I need to add some niche fragrances to my collection though
Thanks for the comment, Frank. That's an intense one!
He Spoke Style only 3-4 sprays. I think it’s quite a soft scent once it dries down
I think you should check out Rehab- Initio Parfums. This is my go to!
Never heard of it! Thanks for chiming in.
He Spoke Style you should check it out. It’s a niche brand. I learned about it from watching Demi Rawling’s channel.
Bro I like your frame
What’s the name plse
Should parfum be worn on body or clothes?
Great Fragrances
Many thanks!
I like how you go after rare fragrances. The details.
Also how you pointed out that key notes that shouldn't be ignored from the others like how you said about Tom Ford. Yes there is hidden gems.
Could you please name a couple perfumes for work for a male pilot 👨🏻✈️ in his Thirties? Thanks a lot in advance 🙏🏻
Try Eau Sauvage, Roja Scandal, and Marc Antoine Barrois B683.
Thank you
I would choose Zegna Indonesian Oud instead of the Italian Bergamot. I think citrusy fragrance is not suitable for the evening.
Depends. In the summer, I think it's perfect.
What do you think of Fahrenheit?
I'm honestly not familiar with it.
My top choice is tom ford black orchid
Will need to smell!
He Spoke Style try wearing it as opposed to just giving it a whiff, it hits different on the skin.
Santal by Floris and Cuir Cuba by Parfums de Nicolai also Heritage EDP by Guerlain.
Need to check those out!
He Spoke Style you wont be disappointed chief!
Have you ever heard of Javadhu powder? It smells very funky.
I have never smelled sandal from anywhere else.
Never.
It's a Product of India. My Indian friend said that sandal wood is national property there. It's hard to bring any perfume with high extraction of sandal out of the country. Javadhu powder is cheap and really unique though having a good amount of sandal in there. Worth trying out imo, especially for a high end perfume guy like u :v
Tried anything from penhaligon's? ☺️
Yes. Sartorial, Blemheim Bouquet. Really like both of those.
Brian, how do you store your fragrances?
In my closet on a shelf.
@@hespokestyle Awesome thanks same here, away from the bathroom & humidity I heard.
Your voice is ASMR to me
Very kind.
Yeah if you don’t have oud fleur in your collection you’re missing out! This and beau de jour
Solis from the house of Kemi Blending Magic.
Nice! Thanks for the comment!
Hey guys check Shuhrah Pour Homme By Rasasi .. I'm sure you never heard about it .. but it's worth it.
Haven’t heard
Still wait for your "Cheap fragrances" video😆
I'll do one eventually!
@@hespokestyle great, i'm a big fan of your speaking style😆
Check out House of Matriarch.
Any one in particular?
That boils down to personal preference. I've never tried a bad fragrance from the house. Devotion is a brilliant incense fragrance. Coco Blanc is the best gourmand I've ever experienced. And Kazimi might make you rethink your choice rose fragrance. Check out the reviews by Peter at Fragrance View. I've never seen anyone give negative feedback. Just perfumery at the highest level.
I wore Creed's Pure White Cologne with my tux for my wedding; from the same line (Royales Exclusives or something) as your wedding selection. What did Robin wear? My wife wore Creed's Love in White, which is divine on her. By the way, the "s" in Ambergris is silent. 😉
Yay
Second!😊
Nice!
Boom
Him: perfume’s come to my closet I’ll show you, what i have!
Me: i have only one! 😂😂😂cAnt afford them!
€580 for creed spice wood, that's insane
Yeah kinda
In regards to your personal collection, how many colognes do you actually own that you actually enjoy?
The one crucial thing about a fragrance is - very good chance only you like it - and making all of your co-workers also 'enjoy' it makes for an anwful work environment. There's always that one guy in the office who marinates in his cologne for 12 hours it seems like. Just: No. Don't be that one guy.
NEVER be that guy.
Black afgano is considered the darkest ominous fragrance ever made
It's a monster!
Creed Spice & Wood
Tom Ford OUD FLEUR
Roja Danger Perfume
Nanban Arquiste
Ermenegildo Zegna Italian Bergamot
Nasomatto Black Afgano
Knize Ten
Last but not least : ATTITUDE
Cheers.
You forgot Bvlgary Man in Black😁
I tried to like that one, but it just smelled like burnt rubber on me
Didn't forget it--just don't know/own it!
Interesting.
