This is the best Thor guide I’ve seen. Only 2 things you didn’t mention, the bubble ability grants storm force per enemy hit and also slows. Great guide, Thor is so awesome.
Nice guide! It's worth noting that, by default, Thor only has 600 health. When he uses his abilities, he gets health bonuses (to a max of 800.) So, he's got a "rhythm" you need to master. You don't just run in and start mashing buttons. You've got to time your abilities so you get your health bonuses as you enter combat. This is partly why it's good to use Storm Surge (LSHIFT) to gap close. Mjolnir Bash helps recover Thorforce. So, a bash or two later, you will have full Thorforce available for your Awakening Rune (F), which is your big damage dealing ability (i.e., it empowers your attacks.) After Awakening Rune expires, you drop Lightning Realm (E) for Thorforce recovery/reset, and then rinse/repeat. Thor is really a "bruiser" type of a tank, with strong dive mechanics and good damage potential. His main weakness is that he has no way of blocking projectiles, so he's easy to mow down with concentrated fire. You'll either have to have good healers to get through that, or have a Storm Surge (LSHIFT) in your back pocket to "fly" away/reposition.
His weakness is is he has slow predictable mobility, mid damage, bad sustain and 0 ability to handle being poked or CC'd. His range damage also sucks and his ult is actually a joke in damage and usability. I dont think I've ever paid attention to a Thor for the most part cause like, why bother. Hell I have had great games as him but know if you are dominating as Thor thats a massive skill dif. If you die and thor is a major contributor to that, the Thor is simply far better. It sucks, the voice actor and model are amazing, but he gives absolutely 0 feeling of being a powerful god of thunder, hell he cant even actually fly which is a major thing thor does.
@@thatsnotgonewellatall5517i have got so many free kills in the backline with thor because his damage output is insane, positioning is so important because your main role as thor is to dive like this guy explains. if youre frontlining and getting targeted by the whole team ya ofc youre gonna die lol. i dont think hes as bad as you say
@lpiazzaj yeah is awakened state is great the worst part of the kit is def the ult. Unless your team helps ensure the ult hits or the enemy team is bad it will miss anyone slightly component.
honestly bro, been here since the paladins days, and this gives me mad nostalgia because honestly the way you just go so in depth just to better everyone’s gameplay is amazing. Wishing you the best at tackling this game and hopefully succeeding with the content on it!
Holy shit man. I'm like 25 now and last time I saw you was your paladins videos when i was 15-16. You were one of my first youtubers i ever watched along with Jwitts the pokemon guy and I'm glad you're still around.
Tbh, Thor doesn't need a guide. You just need to play based on your team's strategy, the enemy's focus, and how your enemies play. If they're not very good, you won't need to try as hard. However, we still need pro-level gameplay to really showcase Thor's potential.
Another great tip is keep to swing 2 to 3 times then throw or charge constantly even if u miss really ups your survivability constantly generating over health
Hit, hit, lunge an enemy to a new position. Repeat. I win most of my games as Thor using just this strategy. As long as you have a solid healer and go after their squishy guys, then help DPS with the leftovers after, you can almost guarantee consistent wins. The ability to pull enemies away from groups, or trap them in inescapable areas while you wail on em makes Thor really solid.
Got 10 hours on Thor, and he's great dive tank. As long as you dive in (safely) and pick out the support, then have your dps finish up the picks you'll win most of the time lol
I love Thor his ult has a lot of KO potential his shield is good when dealing with characters like Star Lord and etc and he can start combo easily BUT U NEED TO PLAY WITH HIM SMARTLY
The bubble is great when you are out of Thor force, or when you are fighting in an area where enemies have to push through. Having Thor force is very effective for you because you can go into your long range affability which does a ton of damage it makes you a threat to backline targets without having to take the risk of diving. Your E returns Thor force to you based on how many enemies go into your lighting bubble, essentially when they walk into it, they recharge your Thor force to full energy. This means you might be able to go into a team fight with your ability, use your E, get all three bars, back of door force, and be able to use it relatively shortly after. The key to using the E is making sure the enemies walk into it, and so I would say blocking off areas that they want to walk towards the point with your E makes them make a hard decision. They either have to give you Thor force or they have to go around a different way, which either way helps your fight against them. It’s also possible to call it on an enemy while you’re fighting them in Malay range, guaranteeing that you at least hit one person with it. in essence, it helps you recharge your batteries to do all of the things that Thor wants to do, and so being strategic about how you force enemies to walk into it or when you use, it is going to be a difference between a very good Thor or someone who is just learning the character. Hope that helps!
@RayndayGaming That's a great deal of help. How about his ult? Is it really just a AOE attack or are there any special circumstances you reccomend using it in?
How are you charging up the spin so fast? When I hold the button to spin the hammer it takes forever to get full, watching you that shit charges so fast
It sucks that he is so clunky and unrewarding as a frontline. He is so so so easy to poke out, so incredibly predictable and has a nigh pointless ult outside of clearing people off a objective. His complete lack of good self defense or sustain (the tiny health shields he get dont mean shit) make him a joke in front of a good DPS or CC. I love the basic concept of the character visually and sound design but the clunky slow nature of his kit makes it hard to see value in him. To the point if a enemy has a Thor I feel relieved, if i get a kill as thor i stop thinking that player is a threat and if i get killed by one then i know its a massive skill dif and im gonna lose those trades every time.
He needs venom's shield ability more than venom. Every other tank has amazing mobility but Thor feels clunky in comparison. He either needs more health or a higher damage output
@apache8795 make his aoe block projectiles or nerfs their dmg and double his health from casting abilities. Then make his speed increase based on how many hammers are on cooldown.
No one can change my mind that when Battlefield is done right, it's easily the best pvp multiplayer game around. All of these other games are just helping to pass the time until the next Battlefield releases and hopefully it's better than 2042.
@@Scoobydoo975 Not going to argue. To each their own. I just can't do battle royale games though. I'm not a tactical player. Personally, I wish a lot of these battle royale games had a traditional respawn system because they seem fun otherwise.
@I appreciate ya and if battle royale isn’t your thing then it isn’t your thing; but apex is 🔥, it’d be worth a look. Apex has other modes that are fun (tdm, control, revival) but I play it for the comp so i typically overlook those. Every now and again ranked gets frustrating because you get 30 year old teammates that have the awareness of a 4 year old and think they’re fucking rambo. After too many of those you start looking for other games, which is how i got here. My guy Raynday seems like good peoples, so I take notice when he pitches something. I had higher hopes for this game from word of mouth but after seeing gameplay I’m thinking I’ll more likely hold off. It looks fun i think, it’s just not what I’m looking for currently.
Have you tried it? It's genuenly pretty fun. This is coming from someone who absolutely hates overwatch, and like you, has only really played apex for awhile.
This is the best Thor guide I’ve seen. Only 2 things you didn’t mention, the bubble ability grants storm force per enemy hit and also slows. Great guide, Thor is so awesome.
if he doesn't know that, how can it be a good guide? seems pretty critical to playing the hero...
He does at 2:54
@@ScripzureBro he literally gave an in depth tutorial whilst absolutely wrecking the lobby at the same time and you’re still complaining.
I haven’t noticed it slowing anyone tbh
This is only the best guide because there are not really any guides out there. Many things about Thor are not mentioned here
Nice guide!

Raynday is an OG and so smooth. Doing the tutorial while earning MVP and commentating his gameplay. He made it look easy!
Love to see you breaking out into other games more often!

I quit watching this dude since he went to paladins, then got weird. Good to see some ol smite-esq video style
damn Rayn that was nasty!! Do wolverine next pls
No way! Raynday guide!
So when do we use the bubble and whats are its buffs? When is a good time to use the alt and what does it offer?

Why does thor look bigger than hulk
He is pretty tricky in that it is really easy to over commit and sometimes you gotta go on a suicide mission
You did your thing with Thor.
Nice video cuh
A good Thor can be effective at all ranges
How are you charging up the spin so fast? When I hold the button to spin the hammer it takes forever to get full, watching you that shit charges so fast
Oh shitttt. You're the one from Paladins right?
Yes I am! 🫡
The fact this dude got MVP whilst playing in between 40 and 60 FPS is actually quite impressive 💀💀💀
what does F do
Clicked on a Raynday Thor video and it wasnt SMITE :(
Just feels incredibly weak to me. The lighting projectile thing and the ult is the only part of his kit that seems to do anything.
He’s so fun
Yep Raynday is a fun guy

Without a healer Thor is mid on console Thor is a m&kb character
thor Impossble to kill Imposble to play
Let’s goo!!!
Is this an Overwatch clone or is it more than that?
More than that + better
40 fps is crazy lol
Crazy I’m seeing all the APEX guys playing this game today. Peace and Love from Rhode Island.
Feel like he sucks. Maybe I just suck with him.
Is this a guide?
What a garbage video. trying to fish views i guess
This game doesn’t look like the one, at least not for me. Appreciate the video.
