Thank you for sharing. I thought my 07 tbss was possessed. It fried my ecu, tps, and showed strange voltage between tps and mass air flow sensor. Replaced ignition switch, traced everything out found nothing bc it was cold, was about to part the vehicle out but I found this link on a forum. It took me an hour to fix today, you could see the crack and the arc burn in the same area. Again thank you!
I’m a GM mechanic, here are the driver complaints for this problem. Vehicle dies on freeway Vehicle dies after sitting still in drive through for over 20 mins. No fault codes present The copper trace that breaks is for the Ignition relay, most customers were complaining that the truck died for no reason whatsoever and then after about 30 minutes the engine cools down it will start again. This is because the under hood temperature gets high enough to make the copper wire heat up and separate…Causing a short for the ignition relay.
Man I could not figure that effing thing out, isolated the problem to somewhere in there all the relays, fuses and breakers checked out good, wire continuity good so of course it had to be in here, thanks dude
GM really screwed the pooch on this defective fuse box design which was used for many years on all models. I personally have had this bad fuse box design fail me three times (with different copper wires breaking) on different GM cars. Thanks GM.
Great Video and going to pull mine out and take it apart and see what the problem is. Hoping I can fix it myself having one of my Degree's in Electronics. Finding and soldering is very easy for me having a soldering station with magnification. I know part however, most of the time you cannot get just one and need to buy in a bulk package. So, it may be simpler to tell him what I found and he can look for anything I might have missed. I will reply back later and hoping you can get the email address for him up to contact him... If this is going to be beyond simple with it looking that way with fixing very complex parts that were beyond expensive myself maybe if other's need parts fixed that are very expensive depending what it is I can fix them no problem at all. Will get back once I pull this out and check it out, but know I have a loose fuse that needs to be fixed having a wiring problem and suspect that is it.
This is a major PITA for TB/Envoy owners. I'm trying to figure out the problem with our I-6 Envoy that has a stall condition, no codes showing. Replaced the fuse block with a used one (new ones are no longer available it seems..) ..same thing...stalls just when you least expect it. So I have my old fuse block here now, I guess I will take it apart and see if I can find something in the circuits.
... I haven't seen how these units come apart? Do you have a video link? Thanks. I have a 2004 Buick Rendezvous which is have some unusual electrical problems. It goes dead, as if it doesn't have a battery installed, I reseat all the cables to the Junction Block (Fuse Box), and it starts up.
So I purchased a new fuse box from the Chevy dealership and this one only lasted me about a year. Now I have intermittent turn offs With no check engine light. I have change the ignition switch with the same results. I might have to send one of my fuse boxes off this is become very annoying when I drive it.
Use a horse hair brush to clean any corrosion off you can get on it very vigorously with your cleaning without damaging anything use a horsehair brush it works fantastic for me
Thanks for the help i have the same lead that broke off but I was wondering if its safe to run a 18 gauge wire instead of 20 gauge? any help is appreciated
I don't know but it's important that it fits into the furrows in the trough. Too small it might not hold. Too big it just won't go. Will probably have to just try it.
@@scottrigdon8163 i put a 18 guage and open the channels where the wire sits with a flat head and its sits fine just worried about it making a fire or burning fuse
I've lost it, but hes on the tbssowners.com forums. Ask or search there and you'll find him. He didn't want me to post it here because then bots find it and spam apparently.
Hey Timothy, its been a while and I don't have his email handy. He didn't want me to post it here because of the potential for spam bots to find it. I met him on tbssowners.com in the forums. He posted about his repair services in one of the threads I read. If you can't find it there I'll dog for it later for you. It's probably somewhere in my archived emails.

Check the tps and ecu. Had to replace both.. no more stall

Mine was broken in the same spot..I found it by heating the board with a heat gun then using a continuity tester..
Someone should tell GM that plastic & copper expand & contract at different rates in response to heating.
Does he still fix these???
Hey buddy does that guy still fix the fuse box, would you mind sending me his contact
What wire is it specifically
