Очень красивая технология, особенно красиво как по транспортёрам идут пакеты с готовой продукцией и состояние термоизоляции трубопроводов и ёмкостей с чем-то.

There is a Great Western sugar beat processing plant in Scottsbluff, Nebraska my birth city and where I lived until I was 11 years old. I remember the long trains arriving at the plant heaped high with sugar beats.
Two points that I noticed out of the video. 1. Flume water is very dirty. They have to consider a more efficient clarifier. 2. There are a lot of broken beets transported to the factory and their endless mechanical operations increases the number. Other than that, the production area is super clean and well organized for a sugar factory.
1: The water is used to wash the beets free from as much sand as possible before chopping them up, clean water is useless as water is used over and over again. They will clean the water on a continues basis to take out the sand but it will never be 100% clean 2: Damaged beets do not matter as they are chopped up into pulp anyway to get all the sugar out.
@@PM_82 True on the recycled water, almost 90prcnt is the same water and usually only the pH of the water bears any meaningful meaning process-wise. Rest is cleaned and still put back, but its more energy consuming to clean it. I will say though, that damaged beets and small bits are a slight problem in the long term as they tend to not make as solid cossettes and properly extracting pulp as full beets will, and in high consentrations will make the first steps of juice extracting slightly more difficult and inefficient. Especially as energy costs are rising rapidly, these sort of optimizitations are vital for efficient and cost effective factory work.
@@paxconsciente3352 Of course not, i think you just misunderstood my comment a bit. The cleaning of the water was just a side not that you want to minimize the water consumption and cleaning needs. And damaged beets and bits you want to minimize as well, since some of the smaller parts arent cut into cossettes like a full beet is, but just pressed out of as much water as you can and then just sold as pulp. This process is kind of extra energy used as it needs a lot of extra machinery and water, and isnt very profitable. You take them all of course, but want to minimize it :)
I agree, I used to work near a sugar beet processing facility and when they used start the process there was a lovely smell of treacle in the air but after a few months of its constant smell it really started to make me feel sick as it got to be cloying in its nature. Would have loved to know how the processes worked though.
Well if it’s the same process as cane sugar they wash/clean the product. Crush it to extract the juice, the juice is heated to a particular temperature and then passes through a centrifugal system that spins to about 1200rpm to separate the liquid and crystalize it hence producing sugar crystals. I also wanted the names of each equipment as it went through the various stages...it’s a shame.😩😩😩
Worked at the beet factory fo 27 years I found it very interesting all the time .Started outside bringing the trucks etc in then moved onto the sample point taking samples out of the lorries etc then inside washing the sugar and spinning it dry then to the knife station dicing the beet int cassets for the diffuser from there to the pulp driers in charge of them and in summer doing maintenance work enjoyed every bit of it miss it now I am retired .

Noal farm is in Wisconsin but didn’t see any of their yellow signs in english!! This is what I learned today sugar beets go there then gets washed in really dirty water and becomes white sugar.
All I got from this video is that the beets come into the plant by the tons. They get washed. Someone watches a bunch of computer screens. Then nice new bags of sugar go out of the plant. I still haven't got a clue as to how it's made.
Thinning, weeding and irrigating sugar beets how I got to spend summer vacations in the early 60's. Mexican migrants and Navahos did most of the work. 50 acres every year because if you grew more then you wouldn't get paid for not growing sugar beets. That's the government thinking. The Mexican migrants have my total respect. Good workers and great sense of humor. They made me laugh a lot.
About 40 years ago when I was a kid Thailand imported beet sugar from Europe. Because in Thailand there is a shortage of sugar I still remember the taste and smell of it.
The big difference between sugar beet and sugar cane is that sugar beet germinates in temperate climates, whereas sugar cane germinates in tropical and subtropical climates.

I like your style of writing in the description; "Freshly washed, the beets jiggle down toward the slicers, oblivious of their imminent fate. " - very well done! But why did you stop half way through the process?
Because Noal farming is an idiot. I have deleted and "not interested" these video's since he posted the "How Minx Farming is done". That was 3 weeks ago. I keep getting RUclips suggesting this channel and putting them on my feed. This person is an idiot and has no respect for anything or anyone. Steals video's from other channels and just copy pastes on his own. EDIT: Sorry I have blocked and stated not interested, but after watching other video's it still adds them to the right.

I used to work in the lab at British Sugar Corporation, Bury St. Edmund's in the UK and I had to take samples from all over the plant, one of the worst places being the area where the beet was washed using formalin (40 percent solution of formaldehyde in water) to kill any bugs on the beet. It was an area that literally took your breath away. They probably don't use it now due to its unhealthy properties, but back in the late 70's and early 80's no one was too concerned! You don't get any waste in the sugar industry where even solidified (Literally had to be broken up using pneumatic drills by Irish workers back then) sugar in the silos went back for remelt. It was like walking into the arctic when entering the silos with your snowshoes on and bloody dangerous too! . With nine teaspoons of sugar in a normal can of coca cola, is it any wonder we have a population with fatty livers and type ll diabetes!!!

great sequential video! However, some narration or text would have been invaluable to explain the processes those beets are going through. Visually it’s outstanding but knowing nothing about sugar beets doesn’t explain the process by strictly visual images.
In the first video segment, we witness the beets being carefully washed, while the second part showcases the process of sugar presentation and packaging. However, the videos lack information about the actual transformation process. To summarize, the beets are washed and displayed in organized piles, and then sugar emerges from the outputs. Hooray, we now have sugar!
what they could do is take the mashed up waste beat put into a anabolic digester which produces methane draw the methane off to run a generator, thus saving electricity, and the spent waste can be sent back to the farm fields.

What is the difference between sugar from sugar beet and sugar from sugar cane?
Both are the same (Sucrose).
The plant they are derived from.
And the method by which they are processed and harvested
Which is more productive from cane or beet?
The two plants have a different taste but the final product is the same. There's nothing purer than a sugar crystal.
