Hey Jak, Not long ago, I found your channel. I’ve been watching lots of your videos since then, and they have improved me as a person and broadened my perspective on the world. Recently, I had a big fight with my mom, which led me to run away from home until 12 AM. I was wandering the streets, and my aunt later found me and brought me back. Although I was home, things didn’t really work out, and my mom and I were still angry. While scrolling through your videos, I felt the urge to say sorry to my mother. Even though I feel like I wasn’t 100% in the wrong, I still try to be the bigger person. Even though it’s through a video, I’m happy it helped me and many others. You deserve a lot, and I wish there were more RUclipsrs like you. Cheers❤❤.
That's because you have a peaceful place. Here in India , when we take off headphones we can hear traffic and people arguing(since it's densely populated you can hear other people talking). Right now as of writting this comment , I can hear through my house that my neighbour is scolding their kid for some random thing about playing with his friends or something. But I'm kinda used to it so I don't mind it.
Music makes the strongest memories. Recently I was going through my sisters old mp3 player (I'm the youngest and my sisters are all 2-8 years older) and songs I hadn't heard since I was a kid popped up. Crazy enough I still knew every word to these songs. Heaps of memories of my older sisters and I came running back. Of us just making cubby houses and playing outside in summer. It made me so happy and so sad. ❤
It's always good to feel nostalgia, and remember those happy memories, it makes us all happy, but we all cry in tears too, I've remembered some certain memories of music I've listened to as well, and I cried in tears of joy.
I mostly listen to classical music now, and I actually feel like it's clearing my mind and making me very happy. For workouts I listen to techno, because it gives me extra energy. Maybe you have noticed the pattern here, both of these genres don't have lyrics. I think that the extreme amount of random words being shoved into your head are the big problem here.
Man of culture! Classical music is where it's at. Forgive me, but I have to quote a video game radio host: "music from a time when musicians would actually play musical instruments, as opposed to dance like strippers!"
I've thought about doing this, and I think you have a point. Most music isn't meant to be background noise, and when we use it as such, it becomes dull. One of my favourite bands is performing in my city soon (so I need to listen to all their albums now haha), but even still, I should be more conscious when listening to music. Appreciating the art and learning from it brings so much more joy than having it in the background.
Music is literally an form of expression through frequencies. It carries thoughts, emotions, feelings. Different music effects you in different way. and everyone different. Some find slow voice-music calming, others make it aggressive. Some find the symphonic metal genre to be the most inspriring, yet relaxing. Everything and everywhere is sound. And wherever sound has rythms or order, its music. It's not the music, that distracts you. It's the wrong type of music in this moment, because of your individual relationship to it. Don't ever blame the music. It's your relationship to it. For myself, music saved my life. In very different years over ages. The last four, symphonic metal, Like "wintersun" was the music I felt the most positive and empowering, yet calming and connected to it.
I 2ed that music is life, saved my life as well, metal rock jazz classical inspired music with soul not modern trash that brain numbing plastic caned music I listen to music every day it's an outlet that supports helther emotional state for me there been scientific research into the effects of metal music/rely music on the brain it's magical how It lights the brain up in a posstive way benefits overall heath
thank you for this. I was actually about to go dribble a basketball outside for a bit (which I usually do with music) but I watched this video before, and now I’m gonna go dribble without music. thank you :)
I think it makes you feel like a kid again because it makes you feel present. Music distracts if you use it wrong. But if you use it to live in the moment its a great tool for enjoyment and memories. I tried no music for about a week and it felt like I regained my childlike feeling of being present at all time and having a greater curiosity, because I didn't have music to block my thoughts
That’s a part of it definitely, the main thing from my experience which I mention at the end of the video is because the tolerance to the songs I used to listen to had vanished 👊
As a guitarist I personally cant live without it.Im addicted and Im honestly not complaining.I love jamming with my band for hours and listening to music for hours on end everyday.Music saved me bro.
I have experienced that higher feeling too when I suddenly had more problems in my life that kept me occupied and stopped me from listening to music. I was way more concentrated and in the moment like you said, it was beautiful. Then I watched RUclips for two hours again and I felt my worst for the month afterwards. I will try that again too. We will do it together!
I am the exact opposite. I have never been into music/obsessed in music at all and growing up in a family obsessed with music at a spiritual level, its hard. For me I actually want to start listening to music rather than scroll social media
You are literally changing the lives of so many young people going through hard times. Keep up the good content creation and keep on inspiring people to live their lives to their fullest. We will all be thankful for you in 20 years when we’re all out living our own lives and responsibilities. Keep being amazing!
On god bro a saxophone and a skateboard saved my life 😭 like legit I would not be alive rn if music weren’t here for me. Ik everyone’s and individual, me myself I’m okay with my “addiction” to music since I make, live, breathe, sleep, eat music every day. So I think at the end of the day it varies by person But I respect your decision to quit it for your own reasons
I’ve been watching ur vids for a while now and they are giving me a lot of motivation to quit bad addictions I have and giving me self confidence and I would just like to thank u for making these vids 🙏
Ever since my early teens I enjoyed music because it earthed down to an extent (I have untreated ADHD). But later in my life, when I was finishing middle school and started high school it literally saved me because I started harming myself. It helped me drown out the thoughts of “committing”. It's my last year of highschool and I'm looking forward to trying this advice. Thank you very much for your video.
I’ve been staying up late a lot lately, but one day I was up late again and decided to go outside and touch some grass around 6am, and the outside morning air was so calming, refreshing and that nostalgic bird you talked about was the cherry on top. having cell phones has made our lives so antisocial and depressing, it’s the same cycle, not to mention the worsening of attention spans. It would be nice if the entire world took a long break from the internet. (Also I know this has pretty much nothing to do with music but it’s because when he was talking about the sounds of outside it reminded me)
I love the idea of not listening to music, but as a songwriter myself that would be horrible. I don’t think it’s an addiction. It’s a part of life and thinking deeply about the complexity of music, the melodies and lyrics, brings so much more to my life. Great art and music gives new perspective on the human condition. So maybe you weren’t listening to the right music for you 😊
Love this guy you make me want to continue youtube i dont kniw what i do without you you are underated and i think you should have millions of subscribers
I believe listening to music while doing your tasks is indeed pretty bad, but as someone who loves music more than anything, I think there are times when there is no problem at all in enjoying music. I think it should be done in a mindful way, just like everything else. Otherwise you get numb to it and it becomes mundane.
I think depending on what type of music you listen to while doing your tasks it's actually better to listen to music. Classical music for example is known to help concentration and even increase iq (not sure how true the iq one is but that's what I've been told anyway) I find Mozart's symphonies to be some of the best music to listen to while studying
This guy is just 3 years older than me, and gives advice like if he was 30 years old. I wonder where he was at my age, and where i will be at 18. Respect to you.
Tbh just lost my earbuds recently, so haven’t be able to listen to music as much lmao but I totally agree with you about benefits as you are completely aware. Tbh the only time I’ll listen will be at home in some form from a phone or speaker cause I’m still so completely attached unlike a used, but yeah man I totally agree for awareness or more productivity in life. Jeez mate u are so wise and like a philosopher, though that may sound weird but I mean it with your videos and you. Forever respect to you lovely legend ❤️
During a period of feeling bad I noticed that I was mostly listening to sad songs. And I think it's important to notice how music makes you feel and that it influences your mood subconciously. So now I Listen to happy songs when I'm not feeling well :). And in generall I think by listening to music you can't focus on your own thoughts. And it takes a lot of concentration to listen to music and if you do it during a break you can't really relax.
I agree a lot with some points in the video, i think with anything you can easily get desensitized and not feel the music as much, especially if you only listen to a few songs on repeat, like that'll definitely give you brain fog. But i dont think its wise to cut music off completely, just like you said it helps you feel the moment and feel yourself in the moment which is also pretty cool and can help with your confidence. For me its about making sure i have some lengthy breaks during the day where I dont listen to music and cycling through my playlists so that it doesnt get repetitive. I also try to go out without music to look at nature, there is something just so relaxing about it and being completely away from devices that makes me feel so at peace and healthy mentally. So i would definitely recommend to anyone to go outside and try to appreciate the scenery and ambience around u.
@@JakPiggott I love your video’s and find most inspiring, even though I don’t relate to this one I understand it, and it great to see 5you interact with the whole audience, even my comment with three likes 👍
I tried something like this around mid-2022, when I kinda got addicted to music in general, especially k-pop (no hate tho), and decided to indefinitely stop listening to mainstream music, but continued listening to spiritual songs. It felt a lot better after stopping listening to music, and it helped me improve a lot. I again started listening to mainstream music earlier this year, but now I'm able to listen to it more mindfully, and it makes my feel better. Great video Jak!
Honestly I'd agree with this. I haven't gone completely without music, but I've unintentionally gone with a lot less music for around the last month or so since I finished exams. I used to have it on non stop in my ears while revising (7-8 hrs of music a day), but since then haven't had as much of a need for music Songs definitely hit different tho if you haven't heard them for a while. If it is long enough ago it can awaken some deep nostalgic memories, but honestly just listening to a song less often allows you to appreciate the rhythm and lyrics way more. It also allows you to appreciate songs more for yourself rather than just basing them off everyone else's opinions as you go back to them with more of a blank slate I'm waffling a bit, but things like this are genuinely much better in moderation. You used the example of porn, but I'd probably use something like videogames. Sure I enjoy playing them but if I consistently spent 8+ hours a day playing games for a few weeks I would get pretty bored (even with my favourite games like God of War and Elden Ring) and playing them wouldn't be nearly as fun
I myself am a huge DESPERATE music addict, i cannot find a real purpose in life, i have some meagre interests and a really good friend with some other friends, but music has always been one of thr best things of my life, i love listening to almost every genre, i sometimes rate animes on how good their osts were, i listen to it in the gym and this is merely the beginning, i am currently learning to play the guitar (i started before covid but left it) and i can feel whatever you felt The thing is, you can NEVER escape music, even if youre bored of it, that chirping of birds you mentioned? That is music, the tyres of a car on the road are music, your own voice is music, your heart pumping is music, you said you love nature, nature is also music, theres no escaping it anywhere on this planet
Hey Jak, what's up? I've been watching your videos for the past few months and I really do enjoy them. I get a sense of inspiration from you. I'm not really making that much progress in life but I believe that I can and I will make it! Just wanted to say that keep them videos comin' and keep growing!! ♥️

I love the atmosphere you have started to refine in your videos, videos like these are absolutely lovely. No bullshit, just peace, thoughtfulness and clarity. I dont feel overstimulated after watching your videos, and that is a great thing. You not only present very useful and introspective information and experiences, but you also make it an actually relaxing and meaningful experience itself to watch the video. Thats why I come back here. So, thank you and I wish you all the best
I actually never listen to music casually unless I'm training, and it's never music with lyrics lol, it's like edm music with strong bass, instrumentals of anime songs like solid state scouter, things like that, when I do hear music I always put the headphones on and then I sing my heart out because I'm actually a good singer, so I also fall into hearing the same songs time and again because I nail them haha, for me music is all about my ability to sing the songs I like, so for that, I just can't stop
Jak, I truly believe that you are an amazing young man, and me and the whole community thanks you for what you provide for us. I recently sent you an email to thank you and to talk to you, and it would mean the world to me for you to read it. Thank you Jak. Emilien
Thank you Jak for one of your another videos, I really enjoy them and with this, I'm going to try as well to live more my life without unecessary music. You are very inspiring, keep up the good work brother💪👏
This video was such an interesting and thought provoking one for me. I loved seeing how our experiences vary so much, yet achieve the same outcomes. You mentioned how the absence of music was nostalgic for your childhood, and for that reason, I can totally understand why this experience was so peaceful for you. In my personal experience, I grew up in a household where we had music playing constantly. I was also a dancer for 14 years, starting at the age of 2, so music has been a huge part of my life. I also love the strong sense of nostalgia that songs can carry. It can really transport you right back to that moment in time and it's magical. It just fascinates me that we can have the complete opposite way of experiencing childhood nostalgia. As you said, "Not all music is bad, the reason you listen to it can make it good or bad" (
Absolutely love your videos bro. Forgive my shameless sharing, but I can completely relate to this. For 1 year and 3 months now, the only music I listen to is Baroque. Had listened to it before, but made it a priority when I had some setbacks with school, and haven’t listened to anything else since then. Now granted, this was out of superstition at first, thinking that if I listened to something else, something bad would happen. But it turned into so much more. Baroque, of which there is an infinite variety, sounds to me so timeless, and it has allowed me, simply, to think. To put things in perspective, distance myself from the emotion of the day, and give my mind time to wander its own paths in stead of following others. It has improved my reading, the processing of information, and I have even managed in this time to write that which I had been trying to write for a small decade prior; a book. Or at least, a manuscript until someone is foolish enough to publish it. I read another comment down here saying music isn’t the problem, lyrics are, and I completely agree with that. Baroque has changed my life more than working out, a girl, money or standing will ever be able to. It has allowed me to figure out who I really am, and what I really want most of all in life…peace. All the things I once aspired to have as kid mean nothing now without timeless peace. When I finish a report at work and proof-read it I pick a particular office because the window opens to the sound of crickets in stead of cars. No voice will ever be raised again, no door slammed and no arms lifted, the happiness this brings me made possible by Baroque. Anyway, again, I love your content man. Good night everyone, and happy thinking
Honestly,me personally, i wouldn't be able to do it haha. Music is such a big part of my life being a former band member from high school lol. I don't really listen to it for the lyrics, i usually go for instrumentals. Regardless of genre. But it's just something beautiful. Its nice to see the way you saw it 🙏🏻
Jak I spent maybe a year not listening to music much (I did occasionally but not much) and this is totally accurate. Listen to the music of life and the world around you, even the music of silence, and it will change your life, even spiritually.
And here I thought I was the only one with the mental memories of music, every song has it's own meaning to me. Not every every, sometimes I put a few songs in a playlist in the same day that I find quite enjoyable to listen to. But then there's some songs where I would just listen at school the whole time, maybe 3-5 songs on repeat in class, in breaks etc. And listening to them again it just feels like I am reliving the moment and I can see the clear mental vision of me sitting in class just listening to it. Same for other songs, some songs give me negative emotions, some positive. Depending on the reason I would have listened to that song in that moment, I particularly do not think it's bad thing but correct me if I'm wrong. But it's really nice to hear somebody just experiencing and doing the same thing I have been doing for a year now. I will think about quitting music but it's just a thing I use whenever I walk around outside, I don't even listen to music at the gym anymore as it just doesn't feel right for me and I have been doing that for quite a few months now that it just feels normal. But whenever I am outside I really like to just listen to music and enjoy it, or go out very late (11pm example) and listen to some old songs and just think about the past or the future. Thanks Jak for making me think about this as I really haven't thought about it before. Hope you have a nice rest of your day everybody.
Hey i dont know if ur reading this but i wanna say, thank you, thank you for ur videos it really changed my mindset, life, etc u change my perspective of my life everything u changed me for the better all wanna say is, thank you
You have a huge point I remember I used to hear “Thinking bout you” by frank ocean when I was younger. I had a lot of nostalgia hearing it again then I kind of spoiled the memories by overplaying it and it started to lose its meaning it held to me.
What you said was true, it's the reason why you listen to music that has the impact. I listen to music to just focus or completely distract myself from this world. If I had a pinch of pure nature within my hands, I would go for it too, so people, go for it. Take that break and deduct what's best for you. I'm in on this with you bros.
Rap music like that can definitely be bad and distracting. I’m not a fan of rap and I think a lot of my music is beneficial imo. It’s also very hard for me to do some things without music because of my ADHD. This is still a great video regardless :) I still love to go outside and enjoy nature though. I’ve also taken breaks a few times because the music got a little too repetitive.
I recently found a playlist, that isnt music but motivational speeches. I dont know if it helps with productivity but it definitely helps with my mental state. I definitely recommend listening to a couple speeches.
I unfortunately dont think i could fully do this because i'm a musician and most of ny life is spent with jazz, rock, and classical musicians just talking about music.
I am not fully adicted but I lisen to it a lot tho when I game when I’m annoyed at people to chear me up and on the bus to high school. Great video jak❤
I’m someone who won’t go anywhere by myself without headphones and music on, whilst I don’t think I’ll cut it out like you have, think I will try occasionally try to just listen to the outside
For the past 2 years when im not doing something important (even though i also did that sometimes) i just recreate all the music ive listened to in my head. A lot of people have said ive been more distracted. Ig my mind just creates its own world of music whenever it feels slight boredom. Ill try not listening to so much music and maybe ill remember to come edit this comment to tell you how im feeling.
I'm a "musician," and when I listen to music (mostly metal and rock but some other stuff). And I open my mind a lot when I listen and try to find hidden stuff and some cool stuff that build the song.
Even as a musician, I can definitely agree with the fact that music can be quite distracting. I'm going to yap a lot here but the past few weeks have been quite hard, as I have failed my year 10 maths exam (got a D-). I consider myself to be a fairly hard working student seeing I do pretty well in most subjects, but the whole time I was studying for maths, I was listening to music. I love music, but when you're so turned on by the lyrics, the songwriting, and the memories lots of the songs brought, getting distracted by all of this made me realise how much I hated my life in that point of time. My point is, music can be perfect when you listen with the right mindset. But terrible when you listen to when you feel sad about your life
See its the opposite for me, without music I have brain fog, social anxiety and life just felt sad and boring but with music i overall feel so much happier.
@@AlmondSchlatt-jc9on well when I play music for a living then being addicted to what makes you money isn’t a bad thing. Your damn right I’m an addict and ima keep being one until I hear myself on the radio.
Jak, I take all of your advice and you've become like a mentor to me, I'm so grateful for all your teachings. But, what if I, myself, am a musician, a guitarist, and playing guitar is a huge part of my life, how do I get away from music if playing instruments has become my primary source of dopamine and it has even helped me quit corn and has helped with my confidence and overall has changed my life? Thank you.
As someone that is creating music actually, I feel you. Even though ever since I was a kid I've always had a liking to music and art, but my God there are days when I don't even want to listen to music, you become tolerant to it, also at least in my case, replaying your usual playlist over and over just makes things even worse. After working for hours on a song, last thing I want is to hear another song bro 😂 Use it in a good way, in a moderate way, as motivation. Now depending on the type of music I listen to, some genres make me really distractive, some genres actually make me really focused towards what I am doing. Music it's in our nature, you can't escape it, but on how you consume it is what makes it hit so much better, think about it as your favorite dessert but you only eat one a week, or twice a week, you're actually gonna enjoy that moment and value it even more, even looking forward to it. If you're eating it daily, you will very soon get bored by it, to the point where you don't even want to see it in your face. Listen to what you truly enjoy, not what it's trendy and what other people want you to listen to. And freshen up your playlist more often, look for new music, keep it fresh ✌️
I feel like I play phonk music, in the background when I am gaming so often that I don't even notice it anymore. Thank you for this video. I really realized it's the same situation that I am going through. You have helped me with a lot of stuff, including NNN, so, again, thank you so, so much.
i think alot of the brain fog comes from getting one specific part of a song stucks in your head. At least for me that's the issue lol. I'll hear the same part over and over until i get sick of it.
All the songs I listen to have truly addictive choruses, all of them got stuck in my head and can randomly flood my memory with guitars and drums while doing stuff
I feel like giving up one thing can change your world, I've noticed I've been developing some other addictions on accident and have avoided corn, but I don't have an addiction to it now surprisingly...
Honestly speaking bro, watching your videos, listening to you feels to me like an elder brother talking to me about their life, giving advices to me so that I never get derailed from my way, Love to you from India bro❤
I was just thinking about today how I think I listen to music so much because I always need some kind of stimulation and I struggle in silence or without something in front of me Haven’t watched the video yet But thanks in advance Jak xx
i had an addiction to wwe wrestlers music, i really was insane, when i put it in my ear i keep walking back and forth in my room for like hour or two imagining me beating up some bad dudes on the streets while my family watching and impressed, it was that imagination that drove me to this addiction but when i finish my body would be very tired and exhausted heart beating so fast and it really ruins my day, i hope i quit once and for all, i do it less now
I started listening to medieval music and put this type in my sleep I do the same thing with classical music. Even though one of us clearly listen to modern, rock, phonk, and etc. Sometimes listening to Medieval and Classical music can help me calm my mind up to remove stress, worries, and anxiety.
music brings back my memories MORE than not listening to anything. music is my childhood, my passion and my feelings. so i CANT feel happy without music for 2 months. music has got to me when i was just 2 years old and i KNEW i would grow up with it, listen to it a lot(only classical tho). and now, i have 1 year left to graduate form piano solfegio, choir etc. and music has saved my life from boredom, without music i cant be anything so if i try this challenge ill be dead on the first day. i can imagine music but if i have perfect pitch, it will be gone if i tryy this challenge (this is not a hate comment, its an opinion and my point of view) and also i enjoy my favorite music, the reason why i listen to classical music so much is that for me, it never goes out of style, its always fun to listen to and has great harmony and passages, and inspires me
I feel like music starts to get boring after listening to it all the time, so taking a break from it could also help enjoy music again
I agree
Well for me i have just been finding new songs if older ones don't hit as well. however Jak is right... a break for the mind would help

I explain this in the video bro 👊
Nah mate shits demonic
Isn't this abit hypocritical though? If you can't attribute something bad to something then you can't turn around and attribute something good to it.
for me music is my passion cuz i have perfect pitch, i went to piano for 7 years, and i compose, a lot

thank you for this. I was actually about to go dribble a basketball outside for a bit (which I usually do with music) but I watched this video before, and now I’m gonna go dribble without music. thank you :)
That’s it bro, enjoy the moment, but listening to music while balling is amazing once the tolerance to the music you regularly listen to goes away ❤️
You're videos are simple but that's the best part in my opinion. No loud *music* and over editing - just relaxing to watch and so motivational! 💛
Thank you man, i love editing my videos but I try and make sure it’s not to much that the information I deliver goes unnoticed ❤
@@JakPiggott True good songs always hit WAY harder as a kid 😂
As a guitarist I personally cant live without it.Im addicted and Im honestly not complaining.I love jamming with my band for hours and listening to music for hours on end everyday.Music saved me bro.
I have experienced that higher feeling too when I suddenly had more problems in my life that kept me occupied and stopped me from listening to music. I was way more concentrated and in the moment like you said, it was beautiful. Then I watched RUclips for two hours again and I felt my worst for the month afterwards. I will try that again too. We will do it together!
you are such a genuine guy, greetings from italy!
Much love my friend ❤️
I stopped listening to music as well. Makes you more at peace with yourself.
Love your content
The man himself 🤝
So I think at the end of the day it varies by person
But I respect your decision to quit it for your own reasons
Good job Jak! Love your videos
Thank you my man ❤
I’ve been watching ur vids for a while now and they are giving me a lot of motivation to quit bad addictions I have and giving me self confidence and I would just like to thank u for making these vids 🙏

Hey Jak! Thanks for the video, hope you are doing well today ❤️
I am man, hope you are to ❤
I’m a 32 year old man, the way you talked about nostalgia made me cry.
You’re an inspiration. Keep up the good work!
@@ParadoxMusic-ot4mt saying something as bizarre as increase in calls the whole study into question
I feel motivated to try this out now. Thanks for this video :)

I genuinely love this guys vids but he’s the only one to make enjoying music seem like an addiction
Nah nah bro this is just my experience that I wanted to share, not everyone will be able to relate to me on this one

Hey Jak! Great Video Again!
Thanks Julian ❤️❤️
@@JakPiggott Np Brother ❤️
I used to have it on non stop in my ears while revising (7-8 hrs of music a day), but since then haven't had as much of a need for music
Songs definitely hit different tho if you haven't heard them for a while. If it is long enough ago it can awaken some deep nostalgic memories, but honestly just listening to a song less often allows you to appreciate the rhythm and lyrics way more. It also allows you to appreciate songs more for yourself rather than just basing them off everyone else's opinions as you go back to them with more of a blank slate
I'm waffling a bit, but things like this are genuinely much better in moderation.
I myself am a huge DESPERATE music addict, i cannot find a real purpose in life, i have some meagre interests and a really good friend with some other friends, but music has always been one of thr best things of my life, i love listening to almost every genre, i sometimes rate animes on how good their osts were, i listen to it in the gym and this is merely the beginning, i am currently learning to play the guitar (i started before covid but left it) and i can feel whatever you felt
The thing is, you can NEVER escape music, even if youre bored of it, that chirping of birds you mentioned? That is music, the tyres of a car on the road are music, your own voice is music, your heart pumping is music, you said you love nature, nature is also music, theres no escaping it anywhere on this planet
Hey Jak, what's up?
I've been watching your videos for the past few months and I really do enjoy them.

I love the atmosphere you have started to refine in your videos, videos like these are absolutely lovely. No bullshit, just peace, thoughtfulness and clarity.
Emilien

Man your channel is an university to me. thanks bro!!
Hey i dont know if ur reading this but i wanna say, thank you, thank you for ur videos it really changed my mindset, life, etc u change my perspective of my life everything u changed me for the better all wanna say is, thank you
I only listen to music when I am in the gym and taking huge craps.
that’s good really stupid video
As a music student, I cannot do this challenge
You have a huge point I remember I used to hear “Thinking bout you” by frank ocean when I was younger. I had a lot of nostalgia hearing it again then I kind of spoiled the memories by overplaying it and it started to lose its meaning it held to me.
What you said was true, it's the reason why you listen to music that has the impact. I listen to music to just focus or completely distract myself from this world. If I had a pinch of pure nature within my hands, I would go for it too, so people, go for it. Take that break and deduct what's best for you. I'm in on this with you bros.
This is amazing bro ❤ Thank you
Im going to try this, I never thought music could have such a huge impact, thank you Jak You've helped me alot ❤
Rap music like that can definitely be bad and distracting. I’m not a fan of rap and I think a lot of my music is beneficial imo. It’s also very hard for me to do some things without music because of my ADHD. This is still a great video regardless :)
I still love to go outside and enjoy nature though.
As a guitarist, won't be able to try this out sadly
I am not fully adicted but I lisen to it a lot tho when I game when I’m annoyed at people to chear me up and on the bus to high school.
Great video jak❤
If you enjoy music I wouldn’t consider it an addiction, if it brings meaning and doesn’t harm anyone it shouldn’t be seen as one
@@stingray541mochi2 ig your right

For the past 2 years when im not doing something important (even though i also did that sometimes) i just recreate all the music ive listened to in my head. A lot of people have said ive been more distracted. Ig my mind just creates its own world of music whenever it feels slight boredom. Ill try not listening to so much music and maybe ill remember to come edit this comment to tell you how im feeling.
As a musician, I can't really do that
Thank you Jak you have completely changed my perception of life
I'm a "musician," and when I listen to music (mostly metal and rock but some other stuff). And I open my mind a lot when I listen and try to find hidden stuff and some cool stuff that build the song.
I listen to metal aswell 🤘
@@Raymesisnerd666 that's my boy 🤘
But terrible when you listen to when you feel sad about your life
I think it's impossible for me to stop listening to me as I use music to get inspiration for making songs...
5:20 bro literally jumpscared me with bro being chad
See its the opposite for me, without music I have brain fog, social anxiety and life just felt sad and boring but with music i overall feel so much happier.

After working for hours on a song, last thing I want is to hear another song bro 😂
Use it in a good way, in a moderate way, as motivation.
And freshen up your playlist more often, look for new music, keep it fresh ✌️
without music, I wouldn't have any purpose of life...
I love melancholic music and I can imagine it doesn’t make my mood better. I‘ll try quitting I think
As a guitarist i cant really fathom this. But your outlook and how it affected you is super interesting!
I feel like I play phonk music, in the background when I am gaming so often that I don't even notice it anymore. Thank you for this video. I really realized it's the same situation that I am going through. You have helped me with a lot of stuff, including NNN, so, again, thank you so, so much.
how do you expect me to survive without music for more than a day
i think alot of the brain fog comes from getting one specific part of a song stucks in your head. At least for me that's the issue lol. I'll hear the same part over and over until i get sick of it.
All the songs I listen to have truly addictive choruses, all of them got stuck in my head and can randomly flood my memory with guitars and drums while doing stuff
The bird was the morning dove. Hope that helps.
That c418 hits hard
I feel like giving up one thing can change your world, I've noticed I've been developing some other addictions on accident and have avoided corn, but I don't have an addiction to it now surprisingly...
That's why me and my siblings are going for a bike ride if the weather is good
I can feel you how hard this challenge is.

I started listening to medieval music and put this type in my sleep I do the same thing with classical music. Even though one of us clearly listen to modern, rock, phonk, and etc. Sometimes listening to Medieval and Classical music can help me calm my mind up to remove stress, worries, and anxiety.
music brings back my memories MORE than not listening to anything. music is my childhood, my passion and my feelings. so i CANT feel happy without music for 2 months. music has got to me when i was just 2 years old and i KNEW i would grow up with it, listen to it a lot(only classical tho). and now, i have 1 year left to graduate form piano solfegio, choir etc. and music has saved my life from boredom, without music i cant be anything so if i try this challenge ill be dead on the first day. i can imagine music but if i have perfect pitch, it will be gone if i tryy this challenge (this is not a hate comment, its an opinion and my point of view) and also i enjoy my favorite music, the reason why i listen to classical music so much is that for me, it never goes out of style, its always fun to listen to and has great harmony and passages, and inspires me
okay but i feel like going on a nature walk without music would be fine, you don't HAVE to constantly listen to it.
