This is exactly how I feel too. I love Tower of Terror and really love the theming, so I was skeptical about this ride, despite loving GoTG. But when I rode it a few years back, I loved it a lot! For people who are nervous about this ride, let me just say one thing. It very much depends on the kind of person you are to enjoy ACTUAL drops or not. It seriously feels like you are really falling, but at the same time, if you just want to say you went on the ride, it’s legit just 2 whole minutes of that feeling. It’s completely up to you if you are fine with it. I was super nervous before going on, and now after going on it, I’m SO GLAD I DID IT. I mean, I really hate drops like that but I’m happy I did something I didn’t want to do.
True true. Drop towers normally scare the hell out of me but I love this one, I think it’s because here you’re sitting in a box and even though you’re falling, your feet aren’t dangling and you can’t see the floor wayyyy down below you. So it never feels like one of those weird dreams we all have where we fall off of something and you feel like you’re free falling lol. It almost feels like you’re in a huge version of one of those simulator rides (like Star Tours) except for the fact that you’re actually moving lol. For me Mickey’s Fun Wheel is way scarier by FAR
I went on this ride today. I’ve never been on a drop ride before so I was quite nervous in line. When I got on I just went with it. I was afraid of all the things I read online about people hating this ride and that it was a “nightmare.” The drops started pretty quickly. But as soon as the first (somewhat small) drop, I knew this ride wasn’t going to be that bad at all. I felt a weird sensation in my stomach but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be considering you’re free falling, it wasn’t an uncomfortable feeling. This made my fear disappear and by the time I was at the top, I wasn’t afraid. But overall this is an awesome ride, I totally recommend it for everyone. Just know there’s always LITTLE KIDS that go on this and seeing them makes you braver and confident.
Damn that was the same situation with me lol Now it’s one of my favorite rides in California But my number one ride will always be x2 at magic mountain
Friendly local Trash can I actually preferred the tower of terror, it gave a haunted attraction feel which fit perfectly with the factor that each Disney theme park has a haunted hotel/house of some kind ,plus marvel ( as much as I love it) kind of doesn’t fit in with a Disney park too well(this may also be due to my opinion of guardians of the galaxy, never really liked it).
Hey, to anyone watching this before going to Disneyland or is in line watching this (like I was), I am deathly afraid of heights and get vertigo very easily. However, I decided to just go on this because I knew I'd regret it if I didn't. I was turning blue in line and my heart was racing. I was already nauseous in line and feeling lightheaded. It was my turn to get on and I was ready to walk away. However, I did it. And the ride was incredibly fun and totally worth the wait and worth almost fainting for. I know, to some people, this ride is not even scary and I'm being dramatic, but if you're like me and have serious fear of heights and gets motion sickness, just go on this ride. It is so fun and exhilarating.
Thank you! This was so reassuring. I ALWAYS gets lightheaded and dizzy before any of the “thrill rides” or anything I think will make my motion sickness act up. Because I am deathly afraid of throwing up. I am going to ride this tomorrow, gotta be brave! Haha
Thank you for this comment I was looking for this!!!!! I also get vertigo so I don’t go on rides (maybe only 1 or 2) but this encouraged me. Thank you!! I’m in line right now and I will update
@@idalymarrufo3142 I just went on it last night and yes it's really fast, definitly take off any hats and glasses, if you bring a bag keep your feet on it (I took my feet off mine, opened my eyes for a split second and saw my bag floating) it'll lift you out of your seat so make sure your seat belt is on good and tight. You can also see the disney view window from the que (and sometimes hear people scream) but you gotta go up a good amount of stairs to get to the actual ride so it's not as high as it looks from the ground, have fun!

This makes me feel slightly better, people seem to be having more fun in it than ToT. I'm scared shitless of going back but it seems like less a serious tone and more of a party/funny mood which will help my anxiety.

Omg sameeeee I don’t stop screaming my boyfriend loves this ride and we always go on it for his sake, but I mean I always get proud that I didn’t die after I get off lol
Just spent the weekend at Disneyland and I absolutely loved this ride. I was so sad when they got rid of Tower of Terror because it had been my favorite ride since I was a kid but this was a good replacement. My stomach was in my mouth the whole time 😂
I'll always miss the creepy atmosphere of the old Hollywood Terror Hotel, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy this version every time I go on it. Now our family makes it a point to check out the ride and see what new song we may get! Great video quality!
Viruses were always there... we're just hyper-aware of them now. A waste of time in my opinion. I would rather live than just survive in a house afraid of the world :/
And don't forget all the times when you have literally nothing and have to sleep in or around your own excrement nightly like many people in 3rd world countries.
Wow I just got on this today. As a person who as with age is less capable to handle crazy rides...this one was definitely intense. The good part is, if heights are part of your fears...this ride is indoors. the bad part is....it goes up and back down relentlessly...."your soul leaving" is a great way to describe the feeling. What made it more uncomfortable was the lack of handle bars. it's just a seat with a seatbelt. What a crazy ride.
GreenScienceBoy That’s the scariest bit. You go up see Disney and all the sudden you fall faster than normal free fall it’s because the flash was really blinding
This is the only good footage of this ride online LOL! Thanks guys, for someone that lived in Australia and can't experience a lot of these rides, these videos are the best! Keep up the awesome work!

I’m glad they added this because kids might not be scared of falling but the theme ToT might, but if it’s Guardians of the Galaxy it’ll attract more kids because it’s funny and action
I WENT ON THIS RIDE A COUPLE MINTHS AGO. FOR THE FIRST TIME AT CLAIFORNIA ADVENTURE. ABSOLUTLEY LOVED IT. The feeling in your stomach as you drop is absolutely amazing. I never went on tower of terror beforehand so it was a fun experience with the upbeat music and all :).
TRUST ME....DO NOT MISS THIS RIDE! Whether you hate rides like this (like I thought I did) or not, you’re truly missing out on some really fun shit if you don’t go on it. It’s well worth the heart attack.
Despite my love for SciFi and all things mechanical, I think I prefer the classic ToT version. Credit where it's due; The Rocket Raccoon pre-ride is pretty sweet. I feel like being so close to him hurts the illusion, though.
I'm way too late on this, but I wanted to reply anyways. The theme isn't the best part of the referb. Before riding it I was super annoyed that they were changing it, but I actually prefer this version. The drops are faster, and smoother, so your knees aren't smacking you in your face. It was super fun to ride, and the new music made the ride feel faster.
I rode this in May of this year (2019). I didn't have any idea how the ride operated / the mechanics of the ride. I didn't know it shot you up and drops you down at such a high rate of speed. I almost pissed myself the first time I rode it. I was in the front row holding on to bar and eventually had my head digging into my brother's shoulder next to me. Needless to say I wasn't expecting the ride to operate the way it does and it definitely caught me off guard. One of the best rides I've ever been on.
I have to admit, I was terrified of going on this ride for years. Just watching the videos would give me a sinking feeling in my stomach. But yesterday, I finally decided to go for it, and honestly, I had an amazing time. The drops aren’t as high as they seem-it’s more of an illusion, and the real thrill comes when the ride climbs back up after the drop. If you’re scared, take the plunge-you’ll get off feeling a huge rush of adrenaline and a sense of accomplishment. It’s totally worth it!
Poking fun at its own story tropes is one of the things this did pretty well. My favorite still has to be the ending with Drax making fun of the "guests riding the ride somehow save the day" cliche ("Why are you thanking them? They've done nothing. They did nothing, we did all the fighting. They didn't help us at all.").
Great song choice, i love the whole vibe on the ride i love rock music so im glad they did this ride. Never been on tower of terror and some people preferred that over this but ever since GOtG came out i have loved it and like this ride more
this actually looks so much more fun than tower of terror. i am usually so scared of these rides, but i kept telling myself throughout watching the video "aw this looks like so much fun". when i was like 9 i rode tower of terror for the first time. i was scared out of my mind, but while i was on the ride i was having fun. my dad said i almost squeezed his whole hand off. i told myself i was. never riding tower of terror again, but this ride genuinely looks so fun
jimmydiddles Actually, the line has been at 75 minutes for the past week. So the whole "lines are short because no one likes it" argument doesn't really work.
as much as i loved the TOT ride, this is now my favorite ride at disney. the guardians franchise is one of the most awesome mcu franchises and is a blast; this ride is SO cool, and id ride it a million times (i want you back played when i rode it for this first time back in march, and that made the ride SUCH A GROOVE)
One of my friends who works at Disney said that Tower of Terror here in FL is going to be shut down soon, I’m guessing they’re just changing the theme to this? Kinda like what Universal did with The Simpsons since it used to be Back to the Future
deelo I don’t think so, I heard they are refurbishing the ride bc many ppl where saying that some stuff wasn’t working correctly, and they have been trying to do the fix. They are also going to remove anything that has to do with Twilight Zone and just keep the tower of terror because of the CBS stuff. And have to do serious refurbishing and that’s why it will close for a long time. So I’m glad it won’t be changing any time soon or at all.
I had the privilege of going on both versions. So I'm just gonna get the record straight. ToT had: good theming, story, and it was a staple attraction. Lots of people loved going on, and it was timeless. GotG has: cool soundtrack (that changes in every ride you go on), the scenes also change based on the elevator you go in (idk about ToT), and overall is a very fun ride to go on over and over again. Personally I'm happy with where we are. But if you miss ToT luckily Orlando still has theirs left
for anyone scared of going on this, the first few drops are hella scary but then u get used to the feel and it feels nice like your flying. trust me, its so fun
If you'll look at the audio animatronic Rocket Raccoon starting at 1:10 or so on, I'm sure you'll agree that they've improved the audio animatronic technology a great deal since the days of Country Bear Jamboree. His movements are as smooth as glass without a hint of jerkiness.
I'm so impressed with the Rocket Raccoon anamtronic! It's so realistic but doesn't slip into the uncanny valley!

I hate hate hate hate hate drop rides. This was my worst nightmare but I love love Guardians so I forced myself to ride it. Never again.
Roseanne Borromeo I do the same thing with jurassic park 😂 83 feet drop but fuck it
Roseanne Borromeo SAMEEE
Omg sameeeee I don’t stop screaming my boyfriend loves this ride and we always go on it for his sake, but I mean I always get proud that I didn’t die after I get off lol
Roseanne Borromeo this isn't a free drop ride, there is a pole that pulls the cart faster than a free fall.
Hi beautiful u can hold me on he ride lol
Just spent the weekend at Disneyland and I absolutely loved this ride. I was so sad when they got rid of Tower of Terror because it had been my favorite ride since I was a kid but this was a good replacement. My stomach was in my mouth the whole time 😂
I'll always miss the creepy atmosphere of the old Hollywood Terror Hotel, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy this version every time I go on it. Now our family makes it a point to check out the ride and see what new song we may get!
Great video quality!
John Quinteros you know they are gonna have a different version like tower of terror during Halloween
I saw the Tower of Terror in Disneyland Paris!
Caitlyn I know! Can't wait to check that version out!
John Quinteros r
I didnt realise it was a differant song everytime! We went on twice in a row and got "Want You Back" both times!
“Disneyland? That’s thematically inaccurate”
Dumb Science Loved that part! I’m glad I’m not the only one that noticed!
Yes Disneyland California
O.G Autistler um
But it is in Disney Land. I went on the ride. I’m not stupid.
Dumb Science さ
this makes me so emotional. all the good times sitting next to random people and enjoying the ride and NOT being worried about a FREAKIN VIRUS
Viruses were always there... we're just hyper-aware of them now. A waste of time in my opinion. I would rather live than just survive in a house afraid of the world :/
at least it's not permanent
🥺
And don't forget all the times when you have literally nothing and have to sleep in or around your own excrement nightly like many people in 3rd world countries.
Wow I just got on this today. As a person who as with age is less capable to handle crazy rides...this one was definitely intense.
The good part is, if heights are part of your fears...this ride is indoors. the bad part is....it goes up and back down relentlessly...."your soul leaving" is a great way to describe the feeling.
What made it more uncomfortable was the lack of handle bars. it's just a seat with a seatbelt.
What a crazy ride.
It does have handle bars on the sides. Trust me I just went yesterday and I was holding on lol
The quality of this footage is outstanding! Thanks for uploading :)
3:47 Disneyland? That’s thematically inconsistent. 😂
GreenScienceBoy That’s the scariest bit. You go up see Disney and all the sudden you fall faster than normal free fall it’s because the flash was really blinding
no joke, when i first rode this ride i screamed “ROCKET OMG AHHH ROCKET!!”
that would be me XD
Right before the ride launched, I screamed "GOD DAMNIT ROCKET!!!!" XD
This is the only good footage of this ride online LOL! Thanks guys, for someone that lived in Australia and can't experience a lot of these rides, these videos are the best! Keep up the awesome work!
"Disneyland? That's thematically inconsistent." ~ Rocket 2017
My favorite thing he says.
Honestly though that line is the biggest Troll Disney have given it's fans XD
Just rode this ride twice in one day! Would have rode it more if the line wasn't so long. Seriously.....BEST! RIDE! EVER!
Can't wait to ride it again!
With Rocket taking Peter’s walkman in the que..the use of music and timing at 2:50 is absolutely perfect. IMO it makes the whole ride.
Everyone’s acting like tower of terror is gone, but look at Florida we got the original one.
Destin’s Lounge I’ve been to this one, I’m going to Orlando and I’ll get to see which one is better😂😂
You’ll have to be rich to go disneyworld to ride their version
Skunk Man *NOPE,* have an annual pass and you get in free. :) I’m just your average local with a stable amount of money, but not rich
But when you live in la like me and its my favorite ride its pretty annoying
Skunk Man Im super poor and I still managed to go to Disney world
I’m glad they added this because kids might not be scared of falling but the theme ToT might, but if it’s Guardians of the Galaxy it’ll attract more kids because it’s funny and action
I have to admit…guardians is amazing thematically. People are screaming and dancing, laughing and crying. Awesome ride
“Disneyland? That’s thematically inconsistent!” 😂
This ride looks like so much fun. Makes me even more excited for what they’ll do with the Guardians coaster in Epcot
I like how Chris Pratt had to record for an attraction at Legoland, Disneyland, and Universal Studios.
One of the best rides I've ever been on.
i love how they play different music each ride!!so much detail💥
The video also changes as well
I have to admit, I was terrified of going on this ride for years.
"disneyland... thats thematically inconsistant" thats literally hilairious i had no idea he said that!
Rocket repeating the Collector sounds like a tourist who's been at the ride 10 times.
Dr. Strange Bat That’s totally me. I’ve ridden this ride so many times!
This is a fun ride, and does make you feel like floating for real.
Great song choice, i love the whole vibe on the ride i love rock music so im glad they did this ride. Never been on tower of terror and some people preferred that over this but ever since GOtG came out i have loved it and like this ride more
It's cool to think that this is the very first ever Marvel ride! Also I'm really excited for the Halloween overlay! Goin the day it opens!
The Pikachu Brothers what I meant was that it's the first that's actually based of the movies but ya I forgot about the Iron Man one at Hong Kong
Trend101Warrior Ok, "the first or second ride that's based off the MCU". That better?
Coaster Cinema but they ain't doing it anymore
This is kinda the second Marvel attraction in a Disney Park. The first is Iron-Man at Hong Kong Disneyland.
Solidworkstudios In Orlando and Japan. They could be used in Anaheim, Paris, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.
Guardians roller coaster at Disney World is incredible. I just went on it yesterday. It was the best roller coaster ive ever been on.
This ride is way more intense than tower of terror. Even tho they just decorated it differently, it still feels different lol
WE'LL ALL MISS YOU........
HOLLYWOOD TOWER HOTEL, YOU GIVE ME GOOD SCARES
I used to be against changing from tower of terror but this looks like such a more fun vibe. This is awesome
Agreed
Getting on that is a life changing experience
While the Tower of terror will be missed, It's nice to see the Guardians of the Galaxy get more exposure thanks to this ride.
This will always be my favorite ride!!! I went to Disneyland last week and went on this so many times!!
乗ってる人達のテンション好きだわぁ
声出してる人いると自分も声出しやすくなるから助かるなー!
I'm a little sad that we lost a DCA's horror ride but at the same time I'm glad that we have a funny ride back in DCA..
As long as WDW's TOT stays intact I'm happy.
this actually looks so much more fun than tower of terror. i am usually so scared of these rides, but i kept telling myself throughout watching the video "aw this looks like so much fun". when i was like 9 i rode tower of terror for the first time. i was scared out of my mind, but while i was on the ride i was having fun. my dad said i almost squeezed his whole hand off. i told myself i was. never riding tower of terror again, but this ride genuinely looks so fun
@@AtariTheAnimator Not to mention it fit the ride mechanic better.
This ride is waaaaaay more intense than Tower of Terror was 😭😭😭
Literally everyone was screaming in terror and I was the only one who laughed like a complete maniac on this ride 😂
I went on this ride and I literally FROZE the whole time, then the second we got off I was like "that. . . was incredible" 😂
You most likely already knew this, but the Yeti from Matterhorn is standing on a platform just above the waiting line before the Gantry Lift
Lol I saw that.
Yup, that was the Original Animatronic of the original ride
Go check out TPMVids' "Recycled Audio-Animatronics Pt. 3" then you'll see what I mean
Saw that 😬😀
I saw it yesterday and I was wondering it if it was it
Wow it actually looks worth the usually long line wait time. Plus, anytime I hear Steppenwolf playing in the background it's usualyl a good time.
Simonne We highly recommend it. It's truly a blast and we love going on this attraction.
It doenst have a long wait cuz no one likes it its disgusting
jimmydiddles Actually, the line has been at 75 minutes for the past week. So the whole "lines are short because no one likes it" argument doesn't really work.
John Quinteros
Steppenwolf? Justice League?
as much as i loved the TOT ride, this is now my favorite ride at disney. the guardians franchise is one of the most awesome mcu franchises and is a blast; this ride is SO cool, and id ride it a million times (i want you back played when i rode it for this first time back in march, and that made the ride SUCH A GROOVE)
This ride was so thrilling! I loved it!!
This was one of the most scariest rides at Disney 😂😨
IT'S THE ABSOLUTE BEST RIDE!
Yea it’s so fun I went on it 5 times and the incredible coaster is not that’s scary
This ride TERRIFIED me- its so funny watching it back now bc i missed all of Rockets funny quips 😂
I LOVE THAT RIDE I EVEN PUT MY HANDS UP AND IM GOING NINE DAYSSSS YESSSS
_"Disneyland? That's thematically inconsistent..."_ = how most people feel about GOTG taking over the Tower of Terror.
MikeJEHMSZ right!
I like the gotg taking over the tower of terror
So I’m glad it won’t be changing any time soon or at all.
deelo YAY FINALY I HATE DROP RIDES BUT I WILL RIDE THIS WITH SOME STAR LORD TALKING TO ME XD
I love how both of the Tower of Terrors in America offer different themed experiences. I personally love both rides.
Absolute dream ride
Everything about this looks like so much fun
Im gonna ride this one day and if its the last thing Ill do
The part when rocket says “you got clearance, let’s role” is my favourite because I know the ride is beginning and you start going up
This is my new favorite ride I went on it today after seeing this video! The best!
雰囲気楽しすぎだろ!!!
Love love love this ride. Especially the feeling of weightlessness for a brief moment at one part of the ride.
yondu: we're about to do 700 jumps
*face distorted*
I really want to go back to Disneyland and ride that I miss Disneyland alot
Queen Elsa Same here Elsa, same here
Mission Breakout is my one of my favorite thrill rides in California Adventure alongside the Incredicoaster. I love that ride
I think tower of terror is way better but it might just be nostalgia
Italia Cruz definitely
This one looks more fun
I’ve been on both and after dark. It’s def nostalgia; this is a better ride experience. Tower of terror was fun and I love it, but this is awesome.
Panther 27 I wish I could have gotten a chance to ride it but I never did :(
This ride made me think that it was gonna collapse when we all dropped down soo fast
for anyone scared of going on this, the first few drops are hella scary but then u get used to the feel and it feels nice like your flying. trust me, its so fun
Finally good quality for this amazing ride
Who else felt the force of the ride on your shoulders just by watching this?
No it’s just you
Me because I remember going on it
I did😭
@MistaRyu probably because you were
Can’t relate
Watching this even gives me anxiety
If you'll look at the audio animatronic Rocket Raccoon starting at 1:10 or so on, I'm sure you'll agree that they've improved the audio animatronic technology a great deal since the days of Country Bear Jamboree. His movements are as smooth as glass without a hint of jerkiness.
When I went on this ride in summer 2018 a lady opened the door and screamed scaring all of us 😭
