This is the best ride at California adventure we have passes and go every other weekend and me and my sister always go on and have sm funs I love the new Halloween theme and the ride is amazing it’s so relaxing and it feels like ur flying live laugh love it

When I my brothers and I went on this ride, we were terrified, but once the music started playing it changed the mood so much it ended up being our all time favorite ride. We got the Elvis song which in my opinion is the best fitting out of all five!!!!
I’ve done roller coasters all over the country, and this is the most fun I’ve ever had on any ride hands down. I rode it 3 times in one day, absolutely amazing experience all the way around - storyline, theming, visual effects and on ride audio, and of course the actual ride sequence itself. honestly blows the Tower of Terror out of the water, way more thrilling and out of control feeling

I absolutely love this ride! My favorite DCA attraction previously was a tie between Cars, Screamin, and Tower but as soon as I got off mission breakout it instantly claimed that spot. Also can we talk about that cast member on Monsters After Dark!? Awesome!
Of course the first time I ride this ride I get the one with the most drops 😒 going from the tower of terror with 3 drops to this with 9 drops is quite an adjustment lol
I just came back from the May 14th grad nite and they played MY FAVORITE SONG to get on guardians which is Give Up the Funk. I feel like it was longer though and had more drops than the usual 7 given. It was super sweet and everyone seemed to be having a good time :)
There's really only 5 patterns though - Hit Me With Your Best Shot & Burning Love are the same, with only the first projection different and dialogue when shooting up for the big drop. Monsters After Dark uses an adaptation of the Born To Be Wild pattern with a complete post-tour set overhaul.
I rode this for the first time at the end of a 4 day trip this last week and got "We got the funk" and could not have been happier. I dont think there was a better option. I was super bummed about personal stuff right before getting on and although my legs were shaking afterwards it absolutely turned my emotions around. Still thinking about this one ride a week later.

The feeling of that big drop and your feet *leaving the ground* horrified me. I mean, putting the drop aside, it was pretty fun. But it’s not likely that I’ll ever go on it again.

I rode this ride at least like 17 times and 7 of them were pat benatar hit me with your best shot and haven’t gotten a single Elvis burning love yet.
The first time i got on this ride i got Monstwrs after dark and that was easily the best one! The past 4 times i've got this ride i haven't been able to get Monsters after dark again :(
Monster After Dark is only offered in the evening hours during months of September and October for Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort. Its also offered sometimes during special ticketed events.

However on that Day Guardians was the first ride i went on which was at 9am and i was able to watch Monsters after dark. Luckily i have the Magic key pass so i'll be able to see it again when september comes! Thanks for the info. Monsters after dark makes rhe ride really intense and Fun! All the other songs are boring and bring no energy to the ride.

Does anyone know how tall the biggest drop is? I've read online both 40 feet and 130 feet, which is a pretty big difference. I don't know which one is accurate. I know it's hard to tell in the dark. Would you say it's taller than the tallest drop on incredicoaster?

Yea it was my first big drop ride since I had only done the shooting star at Dollywood. And of course I got the most drops. I did like it though.
