- Experience all six versions of Guardians of The Galaxy Mission Breakout plus the seasonal Halloween overlay "Monsters After Dark" Located in Disney California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim California.
Guardians of The Galaxy Mission Breakout features six different drop profiles each with a different song tied to the profile. It is completely random as to which song you will get on any given ride.
In late September and October, usually during the evening hours, Guardians of The Galaxy Mission Breakout switches over to "Monsters After Dark" for the remainder of the park operating day.
Guardians of The Galaxy Mission Breakout at Disney California Adventure opened in 2017 replacing the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

Yes he was. Of all my rides on Guardians and Tower of Terror, he was the best I've seen.
Many years and many rides when this was first built, I agree. Disney trains their cast(s) well and needs to help them out!

I love the vibe of the people on the "give up the funk" ride thru. Everyone dancing immediately is amazing lol.

This is the best ride at California adventure we have passes and go every other weekend and me and my sister always go on and have sm funs I love the new Halloween theme and the ride is amazing it’s so relaxing and it feels like ur flying live laugh love it

I had no idea what to expect when I rode this. Then "Born to be Wild" kicked in and I was like "OH YEAH!" and then "OH SH-" when the thing took off. Such a great experience.
When I my brothers and I went on this ride, we were terrified, but once the music started playing it changed the mood so much it ended up being our all time favorite ride. We got the Elvis song which in my opinion is the best fitting out of all five!!!!

The anti-gravity scene in “free ride” really adds to the falling effect. It gets me every time.

I’ve done roller coasters all over the country, and this is the most fun I’ve ever had on any ride hands down. I rode it 3 times in one day, absolutely amazing experience all the way around - storyline, theming, visual effects and on ride audio, and of course the actual ride sequence itself. honestly blows the Tower of Terror out of the water, way more thrilling and out of control feeling
3!?!?! I only got to ride it twice and it is my 3rd favorite of the whole Disneyland park

Gosh the music just makes this ride. No other ride gets the guests so riled up and excited!

Burning Love was featured in the trailer of Planes: Fire & Rescue.
I Want You Back was featured at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).
Born to be Wild was featured in Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party.
Hit Me With Your Best Shot was featured in Shrek Forever After.
Give Up the Funk was featured in Undercover Brother.
Burning Love was also Lilo and Stitch too.
Born to be wild was also played in Herbie Fully Loaded.
This is the closest thing this Canadian will get to this ride until the pandemic is over
If you're going to start with California adventure for your rope drop. Make sure this is the first ride you ride. It is truly amazing.
And I would also recommend using your virtual queue on rise of Resistance. Way cool and way worth it

I absolutely love this ride! My favorite DCA attraction previously was a tie between Cars, Screamin, and Tower but as soon as I got off mission breakout it instantly claimed that spot. Also can we talk about that cast member on Monsters After Dark!? Awesome!
I rode this recently and got free ride. I never experienced it until then and luckily got on before they closed it to prepare for the Halloween stuff. Arguably one of the best rides I have ever ridden and will be a must ride every time I go now. So fun
Of course the first time I ride this ride I get the one with the most drops 😒 going from the tower of terror with 3 drops to this with 9 drops is quite an adjustment lol
Yea it was my first big drop ride since I had only done the shooting star at Dollywood. And of course I got the most drops. I did like it though.

There's really only 5 patterns though - Hit Me With Your Best Shot & Burning Love are the same, with only the first projection different and dialogue when shooting up for the big drop. Monsters After Dark uses an adaptation of the Born To Be Wild pattern with a complete post-tour set overhaul.

When I went on it was the free ride version. The motion of the ride with the visuals of anti gravity was so weird but so much fun!!

Went on Free Ride with my cousins, and we didn't remember how intense it was. We screamed till the end...

I just came back from the May 14th grad nite and they played MY FAVORITE SONG to get on guardians which is Give Up the Funk. I feel like it was longer though and had more drops than the usual 7 given. It was super sweet and everyone seemed to be having a good time :)

I went on the ride with my aunt 2 weeks ago where the song Free Ride was playing.
I rode this for the first time at the end of a 4 day trip this last week and got "We got the funk" and could not have been happier. I dont think there was a better option. I was super bummed about personal stuff right before getting on and although my legs were shaking afterwards it absolutely turned my emotions around. Still thinking about this one ride a week later.

I recently had the chance of going on this ride. Let me say that it was one of the most terrifying experiences I’ve ever had. The feeling of that big drop and your feet *leaving the ground* horrified me. I mean, putting the drop aside, it was pretty fun. But it’s not likely that I’ll ever go on it again.
ive basically lived (so to speak) at Disney my whole life and tbh im a *major* chicken when it comes to drop rides, so i finally forced myself to ride this yesterday and ive always loved the song "I Want You Back", (and I loveee GOTG) so I desperately wanted to get that song even tho I knew it had the most drops- and when I say I got hella excited when I heard the first note of that song- I mean it lmao
It was such a great experience and nowhere near as scary as I thought it was gonna be, def recommend it to anyone nervous to try it, its now my favorite!! (btw if you hate the stomach drop feeling, the ride is so fast and you can't really process everything so you don't even rly feel it)

No it’s kinda on a playlist, but they are in a different order by each elevator so for example I got want you back all the slime except for one or two times I get a different one I think it was hit me with your best shot

i got the sequence of events at 11:34 3 times in a row since i rode this 3 times today and somehow ended up in the same elevator every single time and was a bit disappointed since i heard there were different scenarios. i did get different songs everytime i believe tho

The first time i got on this ride i got Monstwrs after dark and that was easily the best one! The past 4 times i've got this ride i haven't been able to get Monsters after dark again :(
Monster After Dark is only offered in the evening hours during months of September and October for Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort. Its also offered sometimes during special ticketed events.
@@ryanthemepark ah no wonder! The first time i got on this ride was On Oftober 31 At Disney California. And that day they Had the Boogey down event. However on that Day Guardians was the first ride i went on which was at 9am and i was able to watch Monsters after dark. Luckily i have the Magic key pass so i'll be able to see it again when september comes! Thanks for the info. Monsters after dark makes rhe ride really intense and Fun! All the other songs are boring and bring no energy to the ride.
