SoCal Attractions 360 - I was wondering why you didn’t film the whole thing!? You cut out the first half of the entire experience.
Thanks for posting this video I thought this ride would be a bust but this video changed my mind. I cant to ride this when I go to Disney for Christmas vacation I hope it wont be packed.
SoCal Attractions 360 just to put it out there the name of the ride is called: Rise Of The Resistance
that’s crazy how far ride technology has come
ChambersofSiege rides used to be wooden coasters, carousels, and Ferris wheels. Now it’s this stuff. We’ve made advances
@ChambersofSiege ...which we've also had around for almost 20 years now. Gotta admit, though. If your not keeping up with the latest attractions, this can be overwhelmingly cool seeing all these innovations put together with a Star Wars theme.
@ChambersofSiege And even that's not innovative at this point lol but it is quite cool
The ride uses elevator and trackless systems implemented in Disney's tower of terror. The props are simply set dressing and if the screens aren't simply lcds they are a modification of peppers ghost
@ChambersofSiege Trackless isn't new though. Theres a number of rides unfortunate not in the US that are trackless. Sea world has had a trackless ride for many years. empire of the penguin
THAT PART WHEN KYLO RENS LIGHTSABER WENT THROGH THE CEILING BRUHHH
Yeah, that's a seriously nice effect, wonder how they did that.
@@BDNeon Also some of the lasers burning/melting the walls. Probably really high quality projectors for those, but still curious about the saber
@@BDNeon spinning disk. Simple but cool
I even thought that was real that be great to have as a night light
@@BDNeon you can see that this is just a circular plate with a precut circle and a glowing stick on it that is turning on its center axis, so this is why the ''saber'' is giving the effect that it's cutting a perfect, tight and small circle. There's no way someone can fit in that tiny circle.
But it's a cool effect I watched this whole video trying to break down every effect.
Imagine showing someone in 1977 this.
I know your comment is a year old, but just had to say -- I'm a Southern California child of the 1960s and we went to Disneyland a number of times. I've seen the rise of several iconic rides (E Ticket rides because you had to buy a coupon book for a certain number of rides, A (kiddie ride) to E (best in the park)) such as Pirates, Space Mtn, Haunted Mansion, Thunder Mtn, etc. Of course, Star Wars came to the theater in 1977 and here we are, with both Disney and Star Wars having been a constant in the vast majority of my life. This ride is freaking awesome!!! My only regret is that my aging body can't as easily handle extreme coasters anymore.
@@mbrow me too . I hadn't been to the part since 2005 and finally went on this in 2022, i could barely handle it. Sucks gettin old. But this was AMAZING
@@mbrowhey we have to enjoy it while we are here on this earth. My aunt is 79 years old and outlast me walking at Disneyland. And now that Star Wars land opened up she drinks a few alcoholic drinks to boost the energy up.
Try 1927! They’d flip out!
@@jenx818 "Who are these people?"

Kylo Ren is typically clueless.
He was just hoping they would give up

Technically they're not running
The PNolandS *kylo ren cuts a hole in the elavator’s ceiling*

Okay, some of the effects here are actually stupidly good.
If you hear that I had to wipe my eyes at the At-Ats, that person is totally lying. . . .
See they should of ad Rey to Fight Kylo Ren in part of the Ride. Even also have us follow her.
The AT-AT blaster lighting effect is so simple but it looks amazing lol
My favorite effect was Kylo's lightsaber bearing down through the ceiling, that looked freaking awesome!
This was the sort of thing that I was hoping for when Disney bought Star wars. I see why it took so long to build it
Wow. The engineering and design of this is incredible. Congratulations to everyone who had a hand in developing this ride. An absolute masterpiece.
I love those types of rides that makes you feel like you’re actually there
Same bro 😪
As a European I can't wait till this ride finally comes to Walt Disney studios Paris.
This ride literally feels like your in space
Yeah, that's why I like the Transformer ride at Universal Studio.
@@mjl11 well I hope you’re a Millennium Falcon fan.
Honestly, the little ride droids kind of make this for me. Listening to them shriek in alarm is so cute and also adds that little bit of realism
*lightsaber goes through elevator ceiling* droid: WEEOOOOOO
Okay they SKIPPED PROBABLY THE COOLEST PART OF THIS ENTIRE RIDE! After you get off the first shuttle you have no idea what to expect when they open the door and suddenly you walk into a gigantic room with about 50 storm troopers standing there in formation and behind them is a screen that’s about 60 feet long and 25 feet high showing space and ships just moving about out there. You are inside the star destroyer hangar!!! The visuals are beautiful, the storm troopers are all individual robotics and it is actually intimidating! I am a 38 year old man and I actually started tearing up I was so blown away by how amazing it was ! I was in awe! Not taking away from the rest of the ride which was incredible but I don’t know why they would not show that part of it. This is already a giant spoiler to begin with so I just don’t see the harm in showing that.
That was literally my favorite part 😢
Yes!!! I took a photo of the storm troopers a few days ago at disney for my senior trip and this ride did not disappoint
I Rode this twice today. I'm 50 and I was welling up big time walking into that room
Agreed! The sheer scale can’t be appreciated except in person
Dude I was so confused when they opened the doors. Like how did we get in that room
Nobody does it like Disney's Imagineers. Kudos to them!

@Jonah Greenbaum Disneyland just received a new president.
The part where it shows your pod dropping is a real drop. I've rode it and my god nothing can describe how epic it is. When your pod drops, it feels like a drop from the Tower of Terror.
Fun fact: it’s actually based on the drop system from the tower of terror!
You actually do drop about 8 stories in Tower of terror. In this ride it’s a simulator. You only drop about 8 feet while the digital screen plays a virtual scene.
To be honest I think the Star Tours ride was better. It was all simulator.
I was thinking that part must have felt sick...
The ride is possibly the best ride ever made. This video didn’t even show the coolest part. It is definitely a ride you have to go and ride. Videos will never do it justice
Fun fact: TJ Wollard worked at RoTR and ToT. He’s back at the ToT now
You actually feel like you took off of planet Earth onto a ship in the moment when you see all soldiers it's just insane
Disney should ditch making movies and just make more of these dude. wow
@Xd Anarchist much more time. This has been in planning since 2013
Anthonyjh02 movies make billions so they will never stop
Disney's products are the rides and merch, the movies are the marketing of rides and merch. It's like saying coke should ditch the billboards and just make more coke.
They need to make a movie then make the ride.
The movies are ads for the rides at this point. And the toy lines.
that "reloading" system at the start is FANTASTIC. 2 empty carts are waiting, which are integrated in the story and drive to the start, the 2 cars full of people are driving through and then 2 new cars will load the empty space in the first room. awesome. just awesome.
Out of everything going on here, you're most impressed by that? K.
@@kevinlucas1987 He's not saying that he isn't impressed by the rest of the ride. What he is saying is that the Imagineers are able to be both pragmatic and brilliant in their approach. This is arguably the most intricate dark ride IN THE WORLD, and they found a solution to a potential problem, by integrating that problem into the storyline--something that very few people would have noticed. That in itself is brilliant.
@@kevinlucas1987 everything is brilliant, and just like Ryan Merriman said, its awesome how they put the reaload-problem of the ride into the storyline.
This is what you get when very special people have a fantastic imagination and the genius that enables them to bring it to life.
@@ryanmerriman9882 indeed dude, indeed..
The effort put into this ride to make it feel authentic is more than I could've thought. Disney really made one giant room with two AT-ATC's for one ride.
I was hella shocked like that room just showed up out of no where LOL
after seeing the onride I have to say that this is really the best darkride in the world. You cannot really say that if you have not been there yourself, but the attention to details is so great. how the carts have different routes, different lifts, different escape pods but how they are together so often is great. And how the screens are combined with animatronics is also fantastic not to mention the special effects and the AT-ATs. really a great darkride.
Have you seen journey to the centre of the world? That is the real best dark ride in the world
Also the amazing plot that flows well
BORING
ahhhhh, this is a pretty weak use of trackless.. try Winnie the Pooh in Tokyo, or ratatouille in France
TNTxMAN Shooters And Mobile You’re wrong. This attraction includes literally all elements and is unique in the world right now. Next year we’ll have two verdions of it, in both US coasts, but both will surpass all other Disney attractions by far.
this ride was probably the best thing i have ever experienced. everything was INCREDIBLE

I got to work on this ride in it's development phase (Disney Imagineering test/development crew). Great to see people enjoying it! Tons of work and sleepless nights went into it. If you only knew the level of complexity-tech under the hood it would blow your minds!
Thanks a lot!!!
Thank you!
Well this is certainly one way to make someone who's never seen a single star wars movie go down to Star Wars land. Simply amazing! Disney really showing that they are the top dogs.
The rest of Star Wars Land is awful expect for the scenery of certain things like the Millennium Falcon
I've never been a huge Star Wars or even Disney fan, despite being a huge theme park enthusiast. This though has absolutely blown my brains out, it appears to be hands down the most complex ride system I've ever seen.
Yep, rode it today. Mind BLOWN, the various aspects of this thing is a spectacle for sure!
The video does not do it justice you have to ride it for real
They had to make it that way, they have zero room left to produce any actual thrill rides and the only other ride is the cockpit millennium falcon ride which I went on 2 weeks ago, it is a simulated ride with 3d screen that looks amazing, but not really classified as a ride in my book, was still pretty cool though. Not worth a 2 to 3 hour wait though. My wait was 30 mins, rushed to that ride first, 2 days in row.
For those going to Disneyland: make sure your child is open to a more rough/adult ride. The video doesn't come close to showing how crazy it is. I watched some of this video and I thought "oh, this looks awesome" and I took my 7 year old on it. My son LOVES Star Wars. I didnt realize how FAST and REAL everything felt. He was NOT ready. Kylo Ren is life size and very scary. The whipping and riding is WAY faster than you can see. And when they drop.... you actually free fall. That drop makes you feel like you are on the Tower of Terror. As an adult, this ride was EPIC. As a parent watching my son struggling, it sucked. If your child likes splash mountain, Star Tours and Tower of Terror - they will LOVE this ride. But if your child is afraid of those rides.... they will not enjoy a lot of this ride. I just want to give some parents some heads up who have smaller children.
I went on it and I did NOT remember the free fall part. There was a little drop and that’s it.
My sister went on it and she loved it man
It’s really not bad for little children. It’s very tame.
@@ThumperThumpletonoh it was a free fall lol
I was like 10 when I went on this and it was my favorite ride.
They even made it night when it’s really night outside
WhatzIt_ToYa I think it’s always night in space.
@@joshuamendiola7635 Pretty sure they're referring to the ending of the ride when the ship crashes on the planet.
They do that with the Falcon ride as well. I went on it in the morning and a second time at night. The visuals change depending on the time of the day.
joshua mendiola, no? Idk I’m talking about the- never mind
One of my favorite parts of this ride is when you’re being shot by stormtroopers or when Kyle Ren stabbed his lightsaber through the roof, the droid directing the ride vehicle SCREAMS. LOL. I find this hilarious.
Haha. I went on this ride at Disneyland today, and I started laughing. I was surprised that I was the only one who was laughing at that part.

This is my favorite affect in any Disney ride. The blend between the animatronic Saber + hand and the projection of Kylo, both being in sync with each other, is just awesome. Blew me away when I rode Rise for the first time, and even now is the main reason I keep rewatching PoVs

Imagine working it...
I'm not a Star Wars fan. THIS looks incredible and so realistic I want to ride it! It looked like you were a part of the film and the detail is stunning!
Holly A Same here, I don’t like Star Wars at all but this ride is amazing!!! Wow that’s cool!

How can you hate star wars but like this ride? All the characters and everything is star wars!
I dont care for star wars either but I kinda wanna get on this ride
@@douglassmith9445 I don't HATE Star Wars. I don't understand it. I guess I don't have to like the movies to want to feel like I'm in one? I feel like Disney finally stepped up their ride game and made something that doesn't feel like it was half-assed. Most of the rides they were putting out were only money makers and I feel they respected the source material this time and made it a full sensory experience.
I'm 50 years old, been a Star Wars fan since I saw the original in 1977 at the age of 5. And this ride was an absolute blast. Had to go on it twice. Disneyland tickets are pretty pricey but, honestly, for a lifelong Star Wars fan it was worth every penny. A truly immersive experience, pushed to the limit of what current technology can deliver (and it'll be even better when they can figure out how to fake laser bolts convincingly). Highly recommended!
The ride did more justice for Admiral Ackbar than the movie did.
XxIanxX well his actor died
It’s a trap!

Kylo ren *softly*: how brave
Kylo ren *turns around and yells*: BUT ULTIMATELY HOPELESS
THERE'S NO WHERE TO RUNNNNN
Kylo could've finished the escapees right there but naw. Let em cause a bit more havoc around the ship
Going on that ride is on my bucket list of Rides that I would love to go on, except for the slinky dog roller coaster and splash mountain, twilight zone's tower of terror, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, and Space Mountain, while I'm at Walt Disney World, when the Pandemic is over and everything is safe.

I've had good and bad experiences on this ride. Bad - mostly since COVID. The actors aren't as good as they were when this ride first opened. COVID makes it difficult I suppose. The "ride" part is still amazing.
Just finished riding it for the first time today. It was worth waiting for even through the long breakdowns. Shout out to that kid w the stormtrooper helmet that entertained us in line! He mentioned he rode it 30+ times already!

Best ride of all time… When I went into the room that had the AT-AT’s I was smiling, as well as, when our escape pod deployed!! Disney knows how to make you feel like you are really there!!
The Disney people working the ride did a really good job playing the “bad guys” of the ride. They really treat you poorly like prisoners! All around good job, I felt like I was really in the movie.
Have you worked in retail? Lol.
@@Raivere I have and I agree with Paul

I guess this is what Disney ACTUALLY wanted to make, not movies.
This ride was the reason, buying Lucasfilm.
Just don’t make movies anymore Disney
The detail in the whole Star Wars section of the park is unreal. Wanted to stay there all day.
Disney is making a smart return on their $4B purchase of the franchise. Very shrewd. And a total win-win for fans and company. They really did a great job.
Disney was movies at first. Walt built theme parks with movies in mind

The Empirical Walkers are so impressive. Everything is but just saying them like that was amazing.
This takes being immersive to a whole other level. Your videos are the best I've ever seen on attractions. This ride is so amazing that you don't even have to be a Star Wars fan or know anything about Star wars to totally enjoy it.
This ride looks so much cooler in person I was so excited when on it
Jesus, the robot movements are so fast and realistic, Im quite amazed!
The Kylo animatronic on the ships bridge moves just like the Wicked Witch of the West from the old Great Movie Ride. Repurpose perhaps?
Nah! The Wicked Witch AA was too old. They probably just have the same movements
Maybe this is just me being too critical, but everything else on this ride looks SO realistic.
Then you have the Kylo animatronic, and when the hull beaches he moves like wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man.

Recently I got granted my make a wish to go to Disney world. I have never gone before and what they do is they give you park hopper passes to go to all of the Disney parks. I have been a Star Wars fan since I was little so I obviously chose disneys Hollywood studios as my first park. They also give you this pass that acts as a lightning lane pass, but for unlimited amounts of rides and times to go on the rides. I ran straight for galaxy’s edge and immediately went to this ride. I went on it 7 times in a row before my family wanted to do something else. Later I still came back and rose it another 5 times. Came back a few days lasted and did the same thing. Hands down best Star Wars ride ever ❤
No matter how you feel about Disney and Star Wars, I think we can all agree that Galaxy’s Edge is one of the best things to come out of it.
Agreed.
I honestly feel like it's the real reason Disney bought Lucasfilm. My theory is that the sequel trilogy was made to have a story that gives more freedom for the Disney Imagineers to work on Galaxy's Edge.
"the best thing" is faint praise when everything else is underwhelming
Pandora is better imo
Agreed like this is nice but it pails in comparison to what Star Wars is truly capable of

rode this ride once and it is definitely rememberable. “the last battle” soundtrack playing near the endish definitely brings this adventure to life. heck, I don’t even watch a lot of star wars but this has to be one of the top tier rides at disney property. maybe I should start watching the movies and then I’d probably feel more amazed and emotional by this ride’s theming and technology
Rode this 2 days ago and cried. It was the most immersive ride I’ve ever been on and I love Star Wars, the whole experience start to finish was seamless and cohesive. They absolutely nailed it.
When a ride is far more entertaining the the whole trilogy itself. Great job.
Wow this is the best I ever seen !
I’ve been on this ride 3 times now and it never gets old. Even the line is fun. It’s a little bit of everything; thrill, chill, just awesome.
It’s crazy how detailed this is
I really like how the simulations match different times of day
I love how the staff at this ride get super into their roles, it makes it really fun
I love how for the empty ride vehicles going to the loading area, they have the droid you're with saying its a prisoner transfer, that's such a clever way of getting the vehicles there
I just got off the ride a minute ago I filmed the whole thing and even video cannot Explain how amazing and immersive this ride is I can’t even explain it in words you just have to go on it yourself take my word this ride is amazing 👍👍👍👍
May the force be with you all
If you like Star Wars this ride is an incredible experience. The whole thing is so immersive, even down to the ride staff acting like first order officers.
this is by far the most advance disney ride ever
I can't even begin to fathom the amount of man hours that went into producing that, outstanding! 👌
It’s a pity that the cannons don’t work anymore.
スゴすぎる…
スターウォーズエリアだけでも凄いのに…
行ったらスターウォーズエリアだけで1日潰れちまうわ
The ride was insane in person the whole experience is jaw dropping
I looked at this ride a couple times before riding it and was convinced that the drop was just an illusion, IT WAS NOT! loved it none the less and i will always ride this because i love Star Wars
disney has outdone themselves once again!
Too bad they couldnt do the same with the movies
@@eternal5930 yeah, what a shame
@@eternal5930 ok boomer
@@toyaliens when people say ok boomer is like... you calling siri or ok google
@@toyaliens Why are you booing me I am right.
I was lucky enough to ride this ride yesterday. I just have to say thank you to everyone that made this ride happen. Super interactive. Best ride in Disney. Even better then flight of passage
Only back from vacation and was lucky enough to do this twice. Absolutely amazing. You actually feel like you’re in the movies. It’s so well done and the technology is just brilliant.
Those laser damage effects on the walls are amazing. Is it a screen? I can't tell! 2:03
The wall is basically like a scrim I think it’s called. It looks like a solid wall but once it’s lit from behind it becomes translucent and you can see the detail on the transparent part behind it.
@@averyarmory7716 I think the walls are real, but the damage is projected on it.
Think most laser blasts are projected , just like the magic dust in Mystic Mannor.
Those laser blasts in the dark are always there. They are just lit up at the correct time so you can see it in the dark. The sparks falling down are projected onto the walls, much like the fairy dust in the Peter Pan queue.
Most of the laser blasts seem to be projection mapped.
It's hard to figure out without being there but the two chunks of cealing that get blasted out by the Stormtroopers on the catwalk look to be the new transparent/solid glass tech that Disney made a patent for sometime last year.
Looks similar to the effect at the start of Peter Pan.
When I saw the trailer with the AT AT's, I HAD NO IDEA THEY WOULD ACTUALLY PUT MODELED ONES AT ALL
I am 72years young, and this ride was AWESOME!!, did it a week ago, and had to be the highlight of Disneyland. Can't stop talking about it. Would do it again in a nano second.
"Powerful you have become, Disney. The warp ride I sense in you." Yoda told me.
Wonderfully arranged.
Who's Joda?
I’m not a Star Wars fanatic but that was an awesome ride. I now want to go on this ride. It’s amazing how no tracks was guiding the ride.

Kylo Ren:tell me the location of the suitcase🤣
This looks beautiful. Good job, Imagineers, this is a damn fine win.
4:20 I actually feckin' braced myself for impact.
yall say what you want about Disney, but their rides NEVER disappoint.
クオリティ高すぎww

I'm so going on that ride when I go back to Florida after COVID
The technology is incredible. The money they spend to create the experience huge but we have lost the soul of life. Remember when a Merry Go Round was incredible and so much fun.
