    08 game 4 was a tough lost man. After hearing Fisher I can totally understand Kobe. Lakers just almost got swept in the first round in 07, and for some miraculous reasons he’s in 08 finals and has a chance to tie the game and even up 3:2😂but now he’s down 1:3 and might never be able to get another ring.
    However this fact just made the ring in 09 and the revenge in 10 even sweeter.

    • @dannycooper1245
      @dannycooper1245 Месяц назад +1

      That game exposed Phil as an overrated coach. I was always highly suspicious of Phil, even before then. That series in 04 was the first sign. Derek said it, he took him out when they were up 15. When he came back they were down 4. The triangle was already obsolete in 2008, the Celtics defense was suffocating and Phil just sat there with his thumb up his ass. No sets for Pau, no sets for Kobe. I’ll never forgive Phil for blowing that game. They win that game, they win that series and win 3 in a row. I’ll also never forgive the Lakers for missing out on Garnett in 2007. He wanted to play for the Lakers, if he shows up, maybe Ray Allen shows up as well. Maybe they get Pau anyway. If that happens, forget 3 in a row, a core of Kobe, Kg, and Pau wins at least 4. Instead, he went to the rival Celtics. Unbelievable. Kobe won many titles because he played on the Lakers, he also lost out on more because of the same reason. If they had Popovich instead of Phil, they win 2 or 3 more. If they had a better VP, instead of that awful Jim Buss, they pick up Garnett in 07 and build around Kobe and him.

    Started the podcast off with an incorrect stat. Lakers did not lose on no damn June 15th, 2008. They won that game (Game 5). The game he's referring to is June 12th, 2008. Game FOUR. Series was 2-1. It was NOT 2-2. That 2008 series was NEVER 2-2. How do you start a podcast off incorrectly lol

    The series was never tied in 2008 NBa finals. It was 2-1 when Lakers got 24 pt lead and loss by 6. But it's just because lakers were out matched pound by pound by Bostons Mature big 3 plus multiple all time all stars that became Bostons role player that year. Kobe was there but Pau was a mid season aquisition and raw in terms of Triangle. Boston got Paul, KG, Ray. RISINg rondo, Sam Cassell and PJ Brown, Perk, Poe, Tony.. Kobe got Pau and Lamar, Turiaf, Waltom, Fish, Mihm, Radmanovic, Vujacic. slim Trev. Bynum was injured. Lakers line up was thin outsode of Kobe. If Lakers got Pau at the beginning of that season and got training camp things would be different. Lakers may have won the title because of the home court advantage. Remember that season Lakers staryed 9-8. Eneded up 57-25. Boston 66-16.

    Phil wasn’t much for timeouts or bailing players out. He didn’t panic, and demanded his players solve it. Usually worked, as it did famously 4th quarter against Portland in game 7. That said…
    I’ve never been more angry at a Coach than I was at Phil during that meltdown for that exact reason. Fisher was a playoff dog and a champion. He had heart and no way you don’t put a bet like him back in quickly when Farmar was clearly in over his head. Expecting him to solve it in that moment isn’t the same as demanding a Jordan, Kobe, Pippen, or Shaq do it. Lost the series.

    Kobe > Lebron. He took personal responsibility for winning AND was executing. He also was arguably the top defensive player for his position during his career. Lebron would pass to George Hill and while he was very good at defense, he was never the best.
    When we talk about GOAT, the bar is set that high. Winning championships is good but there are many first ballot HOFers who have multiple rings but aren’t GOAT, Lebron is the King of that second tier.
