      This is part of why I wanted to show these off. People give RD a lot of flack but I LOVE the sheer effort they went to for boss conversations. Past this game, they stopped giving special boss dialogue to everyone besides main characters, with very few exceptions. (We had things like Excellus vs Say'ri and Saizo vs Kotaro, but that was about it. The Nohrian siblings didn't even have special boss dialogue with Garon!)

      @Byakkoya11037 5 лет назад +2

      @@BigKlingy I think that's because The next two games were Archanea remakes and Fates was VERY Corrin-centric in it's writing.

    • @BigKlingy
      @BigKlingy  5 лет назад +7

      I still find it weird that they put SOME non-Corrin boss conversations into Fates, like Saizo and Shura vs Kotaro, and Hinoka vs Camilla in some chapters, but didn't do logical things like give the siblings dialogue with their zombified parents. And there's NO conversation for Selena fighting Laslow on Revelation.
      Awakening is similar. They had a few during the Valm arc, but other than that it was just Chrom, Robin and very occasionally Lucina getting them. Donnel didn't get a boss conversation with the bandit who killed his father, for example.

      @Byakkoya11037 5 лет назад +2

      @@BigKlingy With Fates I feel like they'd been doing so much already with the three games that they just figured nobody would appreciate the extra level and just see it as really extra, which to me is STILL a dumb excuse. I can't really comment on Awakening's decisions, though.
      I think we can expect some better boss dialogue in Three Houses though, it's not like Silent Teacher-kun will be saying much.

    Damn... poor Hetzel. Somehow they made him into a stupider version of Camus. He sees us destroying our enemy army, and yet, he refuses to come join us, because he's under the delusion that the goddess wants the greater good (I mean ultimately she does, but she's so insane about it that she'll start deploying big methods) and thinks that his opposing her will result in a worse fate than to die here. I really feel sorry for the guy. If he had gotten more development as well...
    Oh, and yeah, his dialogue is the biggest facepalm moment in this game for me.

      @@syruscoy1244 Yeah, Oliver joining Ike's army was the funniest moment in the game. Once you get Rafiel in his position, he'll come over to fight for us because he's a defender of beauty, and thus will protect the Herons and anything beautiful with his life. He's got some guts to defect and he got a good ending out of it. Hetzel represents a coward. Only fighting for forces that don't care for him, with his insecurity and fear shackling himself to them. He doesn't try to redeem himself, even when he knows something is wrong. He's self-preservation of the worst sort. And he did have influence to even be on Sanaki's side, but didn't bother to because Lekain and the Goddess were on the "winning" side. Taking only things at face value and was afraid if the consequences if he did step up against them. If he had the guts Oliver had, he'd at least begin his redemption, but he made his insecure choices and died for them.

    2:00 Insert Hetzel doing the ‘Wily Begging’-pose here.
    3:30 Looks like she traded ‘Blind Obedience’ in for ‘Blind Stupidity’ and I honestly can’t tell which is worse.
    5:29 And all of these conversations show that one thing is clear about Hetzel: Despite him being the only member of the Senate who has a shred of good in his heart, he ultimately is just as responsible as the other Senators for the atrocities (maybe even more if it’s true that he could’ve stopped them) due to his cowardice.
    11:43 *Shudder* I honestly find that kind of talk creepier when it comes from Lekain than when it comes from Oliver. At least with Oliver you can be assured that the target of his obsession will be kept in good health.
    15:44 As much as I dislike Macalov, he’d still be a better option than Lekain. Not a good option mind you, but certainly better.
    As for Lekain’s conversations: He’s still an absolute piece of shit and I’m glad that most characters end the conversation with a variation of “Time for you to die.”

    So this is where the channel has been gone for the past week. I was starting to miss it too. So I assume that Trails in the Sky will start directly after this one?
    So many Boss Conversations, in fact I think this Chapter alone has more Boss Conversations than Conquest and Birthright individually did in about 20 chapters. I wonder how many Three Houses will have and who with. I think that if Ashe’s adoptive father is fought at any time in the story then they will have a Boss conversation, I assume Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude will have ones from the other two during the War Phase. But otherwise we do not know any real connections between enemies and your characters apart from those. Although if the Death Knight/Flame Emperor turn out to be someone related to our party. Like Slyvain’s disinherited older brother for instance I can see some base conversations there.
    So now onto a few interesting things I want to talk about.
    I bought Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled, it is fun although my skill at the game leaves a lot to be desired although as a newly created Crash fan I like the characters and the settings of the game that even reference some previous levels in the game. Also got a used copy of Devil May Cry 5 although I have yet to play it but it will be fun to play as Dante again. Who I also want in Smash Ultimate although I am not holding my breath for it.
    I a few days ago spent a lot of orbs on the Future Past Banner and did I get any of the Focus Heroes, Nah... two of them in a row in fact so lucky me. She is so far proving to be quite useful, especially in conjunction with Mordecai since his Link skills both activate her weapons effect but his as well. Although considering my Mordecai is -Defence I will have to merge the next one I get onto him.
    For Three Houses I am curious, who are you considering recruiting or want to recruit from Houses other than the one you chose in Fire Emblem Three Houses during your first playthrough based on what we know so far? For me it would be characters like Raphael so that I can have a dedicated Brawler to Dorothea because I like her design and I am curious to see what she is about.
    Brady has also been demoted to 4-5 Star, which is nice as it means I can get him a side addition if I am summoning on colourless on a future banner rather than him being a extremely rare 5 star hero where my best chance to get him would be his next time as a focus unit. And is it just me or do they sometimes not demote some characters even though the characters do not really have any premium or unique skills apart from their weapon. For example Kaden and Velouria has very good weapons but nothing that would be considered a premium skill in their other slots, Yet both are 5 Star Exclusive. Yet later they dropped Mordecai who has a very good weapon.
    So for Persona 3 Royal, we have the confirmation of 3rd Tier Persona’s being back with Ryuji’s Seiten Taisei upgrading into a Persona called William, which is the first name of Captain Kidd, this new Persona even look a lot like Captain Kidd so it looks they are taking some influence from the base Persona with them maybe ending up primarily be epithets or other names for those figures, which is cool but makes me a bit worried for Makoto’s as I like that fact that Anat is essentially a Transformer and I would want her 3rd Tier Persona to remain humanoid in some form.
    Based on previous 3rd Tiers I assume that William will Absorb Elec and Null Fire but will still be weak to Wind based on what the elemental attributes of the Persona 4 Golden Third Tier Personas while also gaining some kind of unique skill upon evolution based on the same precedent . And for further speculation for a moment based on Kasumi being a Kouha line used and the fact that nobody gained a Nuclear or Psy Resistance on their Ultimate I feel her Personas will go Resist Bless but weak to Curse, to Null Bless and resist Psy and Nuclear but is still weak to Curse and finally Absorb Bless, Nulling both Psy and Nuclear but is still weak to Curse, that is not including the possibility of Akechi staying around and getting the same treatment which would mean either the secondary Nuclear or Psy resistances would go to him.
    I also wonder how you are felling about what we have heard about Pokemon Sword and Shield. I find the lack of every Pokemon in the game to be a bit of a bummer but the region is still based on my home country, I looks nice, I am interested in whatever new Pokemon they introduce and I am curious to see how the lack of certain Pokemon will effect the metagame. Like will Gliscor return to glory because Landorus is no longer around. I like to think positive here since the constant negativity within the fandom within the last 2 weeks is sort of exhausting so I try to think on the bright side of life when it comes to games.
    Welcome back and sorry for the long comment.

      I've been working on this on-and-off for a little while and it's finally done. I've also got a bit of Sky recorded.
      "I think this Chapter alone has more Boss Conversations than Conquest and Birthright individually did in about 20 chapters." I know. Sad, isn't it?
      I have a disturbing feeling Sylvain's brother is actually the first monster we saw in earlier trailers. The beat was using the Crest Stone of his house, after all, and it's said that using a Crest without the proper bloodline has... side effects. Which means he might not be sane enough to have dialogue. (Though that doesn't mean Sylvain himself won't. Kind of like Eirika/Ephriam vs the Demon King)
      Nitro Fueled is pretty fun, though going for Platinum Relics in Adventure mode is a nightmare.
      I got Yarne, that's all I really needed. As for 3H, I REALLY want to recruit Hilda but she's the only Golden Deer who hasn't been confirmed as recruitable yet...
      Hmm, interesting thing with Royal. I always preferred Captain Kidd to Seiten Taisei so glad to know the pirate isn't gone now.
      As for Pokemon.... it's sad the fandom is basically dead now. I can't even THINK about Pokemon games anymore without getting depressed. I get that people are annoyed, but it's crazy how quickly fans turned from "genuine hype" (the Direct) to "Sonic 06-level hatred" and picking apart every little flaw in the game. I've never seen opinions turn on a game so fast before, not even with FE Fates when Conquest's story was revealed. Like, no-one was complaining about the graphics before the no-dex announcement.

      BigKlingy wasn’t Slyvain’s brother disinherited because he lacked a crest entirely so I do not think that he has been turned into a monster. Said monster could be one of his ancestors though and you could get a boss conversation where he recognises the crest and comments on it.
      You know for a franchise that focuses on friendship and bonds the Pokemon Fanbase is certainly not focusing on those two right now. It is a miracle when I can say the Fire Emblem Fanbase is a lot more civil right. The Fire Emblem Fanbase! The Fanbase where the old and new fans have been at odds for years is like Buddhist Monks in comparison to what the Pokemon Fanbase is like right now. It is laughable if it was not so tragic.
      Then again I would recommend just being on the downlow until this all dies down and we get more to talk about so the conversation is not all National Dex talk. It is what a lot of Pokemon RUclipsrs were talking about during the last few weeks too so I would avoid them too until some more news comes in for them to talk about. But then again I do not like most Poketubers Content anyway so I would. Too many Top 10 with somewhat shaky reasoning or poorly explained reasoning and lack of cooperation during colabbs for my liking.

      "The Pokemon fandom's negativity is exhausting"
      F**KING THANK YOU. I'm upset at the National Dex thing, but I'm somehow even MORE done with the legion of unyielding complaining (and burning anyone who dares give the game a chance at the stake). At least Masuda confirmed that all the Pokemon will return in future games.
      (Though I still might not buy the game at launch due to money purposes. I JUST got Persona 5 and I plan on getting FE Three Houses, so... yeah.)

      Hmm.... maybe he tries stealing the power of a Crest Stone and it backfires on him due to lacking a Crest himself?
      Yeah, the FE and Pokemon fandoms have basically traded places now. Here's hoping Three Houses doesn't destroy the base like Fates did.
      Sigh, why aren't Pokemon RUclipsrs like Marriland a thing anymore? Ever since the big ones moved to randomizers and clickbait, Marriland's viewcount plummeted and his channel fell into obscurity despite being one of the first and still having some of the best Pokemon content out there. It's sad that such in-depth walkthroughs aren't want people want anymore.
      Honestly the Pokemon fanbase has got... weird lately. Like the sudden obsession with jerk rivals and burning hatred for nice ones, which kind of came out of nowhere in the last few years.

      @@BigKlingy Poor Trace from Let's Go. He adopted the famous orphaned Cubone and took it to the endgame, yet people despise him for not being a jerk like Blue. (Like, you could have... ANYONE from XY's rival list do that and they'd instantly get my good graces)
      Cheren and Bianca from BW pretty much sum up my thoughts on the Jerk Rival thing. Because, let's be honest, Bianca is a much better character than Cheren (who I ALWAYS saw as a jerk rivial even before he murdered four Pokemon and tried to take over the world).
