It's a good thing those fallen firefighters got justice after all. Firefighters are among the people I respect the most, as they put their lives on the line to rescue people. Their much needed and respectable service was cut short by those people involved who were only looking after their own interests.
RIP all those firemen, and thank you for your brave service!

I worked on the ambulance service with a sleepwalker. One night he was getting dressed (the phone hadn't rung) and I asked him what's going on. He told me some story about his dad's store being broken into in a small town nearby. Hmm, I didn't know he had a store as he worked for the phone company. We did have a run a few hours later. I asked him about the break in; he had no idea what I was talking about. Lol, teasing him lasted a few weeks. I never experienced him doing it again.

It was probably a dream from a previous life. My Aunty told me when my cousin was born every night throughout his childhood he would sleepwalk screaming “Fire! Fire! Fire!” As a toddler they would find him curled up in the corner of the room screaming “Fire!” but he had never seen or experienced fire at all, my Aunty put it down to a previous life, she said that’s all it could be, how could a baby know about such things. Eventually as he got older the sleep walking / nightmares stopped. Food for thought.

Susan Harrison: On November 29, 1996, two years after Susan disappeared, her skeletal remains were found in a shallow grave by two hikers in a remote hunting area near Wolfsville, Maryland, about fifty miles from her home. Dental records and sapphire earrings confirmed her identity. Based on head injuries to her skull, the State Medical Examiner ruled that she had been murdered, probably on the day she disappeared. Although Jim claimed to have never been to the area where her remains were found, a witness told investigators that he and Susan had visited the area a year before she vanished.
In July 1997, police searched Jim's home for evidence; it is not known if anything was found. Later that month, Nick and Jon filed a $17 million wrongful death suit against him. In August 1999, it was settled privately. Surprisingly, later that year, the Maryland Attorney General's Office ended the criminal investigation into Susan's murder due to "insufficient evidence". Her family is convinced that Jim is responsible for it, but charges were never filed and he passed away in 2007 at the age of seventy-one. A reward is being offered for information in this case.

Indeed. I had several instances of sleepwalking from ages 11-12. I felt very terrified when I woke up realising that I had walked up and down the stairs and all around the house while being unconscious....there were many ways where I could've hurt myself. Sleepwalking is a funny anecdote but when you suffer from it, it is not funny. Gerald case was definitely extreme and rare but nevertheless tragic and I agree, poor guy....if only he had the luck for someone to stop him while that happened to him...

@@StarSurvivor1585 No, dont misunderstand me, Im very familiar with the stats. I worked in the mental health field for a long time.
And I am very very *not* antifeminist, lol.
That's not what this is, I promise.
I know some of the red pillers say preposterous stuff and use the idea of battered men to try to undermine gains made re: domestic violence against women, which is an overwhelmingly larger problem statistically.
Women are jist drastically more likely to be killed by an abusive male partner than vice versa.
But I think our statistics about male victims would change a little bit if we accurately knew how many men have been the victims of domestic violence (from male or female partners)
I think the issue is that our culture (and others are far worse) very much discourages men from recognizing or admitting to abuse from female partners. There is huge social stigma for them in asking for help. It is similar to
      (trigger warning)
men being the victims of rape by men...just stepping forward to ask for help is fraught with stigma, and they sometimes cant get the help they need. Many male victims of either issue say afterwards "I felt ashamed, like I let it happen, because Im a man and Im supposed to be able to defend myself"
Even male-on-male domestic violence in lgbtq relationships is less recognized or validated (and the statistics on that are pretty bad, especially for trans people, who are at *horrific* risk of IPV)
There are definitely lots of male abusers who exagerate or just plain lie, claiming their victims abused them. But I think there are also a good many men we don't know about who are in abusive marriages or partnerships that they don't know what to do about.
I was saying "I believe men can be victims of IPV, but I dont believe THIS guy when he says it"
Is that more clear, I hope?

Thanks For Another Great Episode Of Unsolved Mysteries With Robert Stack It's Back At 39:42 "Susan You're Being Bad Again" I Believe Jim Harrison Murdered Susan On The Day She Disappeared From Her Home Unfortunately He Passed Away In 2007 Without Ever Being Charged Even Her Sons Also Her Family Still Believe Jim Was Responsible For Their Mother's Murder Very Sad Situation

Yeah, but, of course, who are they gonna try to blame? I've known an ex just like her, and she always played the victim. So, Jim could easily have been abused and someone else killed that damned Susan ... because she looked nice to family, but I bet she was a real bitch in how she treated other people.

    Update on Kristi Martin:
In August 2000, Jorge Mendez was arrested in Mexico on unrelated charges. Shortly afterwards, an informant contacted the Harris County, Texas, Sheriff's Department and informed them about his arrest. Authorities requested that he be extradited back to the United States to stand trial for Kristi's murder. However, the Mexican government said that they would not extradite him unless it could be guaranteed that a life sentence would not be sought against him. In previous instances, the Mexican government would only do this in death penalty cases. It is not known why they requested it for this case as well.
The Harris County D.A. did not want to "limit the punishment range" in a murder case, so they declined the Mexican government's request. Mexican officials were also willing to allow Harris County prosecutors to come to Mexico to try their case there, but they refused, believing that they would not be able to successfully prosecute the case in another country. In the end, Mexican authorities tried Mendez. He was convicted and sentenced to thirty-one years in prison.
In August 2023, Jose Rios was arrested in Mexico City by Mexican authorities. On December 13, FBI agents brought him back to Harris County, Texas, to stand trial for Kristi's murder.

I used to sleepwalk all the time when I was a kid, but I think it's something I grew out of. I usually remembered when I did, I was told I started as soon as I was out of my crib, and the last time I remember doing it I think I was in my late 20's and I'm now 42. The funny thing is my grandmother was also a sleepwalker as a child so I wonder if it can be a hereditary thing.

Boyle was last seen in his hometown of Marysville, Washington on November 4, 2012. He left his residence at 4:30 a.m. and never returned. The previous day, he'd been cited by law enforcement for a traffic offense, and he may have been distraught when he left home.
His vehicle, a red 2006 Chrysler Pacifica with the Washington license plate number 169WNT, disappeared with him and has never been found; a photo of it is posted with this case summary.
Boyle worked as the assistant girls' basketball coach at Marysville-Pilchuk High School at the time of his disappearance, and was also active in the football and baseball programs at middle and high school levels. He grew up in Everett, Washington, but had lived in Marysville for two decades prior to his disappearance; he was a well-liked, respected member of his community.
Foul play is not suspected in Boyle's case, but his disappearance is out of character and his case remains unsolved.

My daughter had night terrors every night until almost 6 yrs old, I fight with parasomnia, sleep walking, sleep apnea, insomnia.... and I fight in my sleep, my husband has to try to force me awake to get me to stop beating on him. He is a rather large and strong man (think wrestler, biker, big guy) and I'm only 5'1" and considerably weaker than him, but in those events (he tells me) that I am far more powerful and strong then normal (our little girl has the same strength boost in her terrors too) and that I'm just BEATING him,... furiously... yeah, sleep issues suck.... a whole lot.

Sleepwalking is probably caused by stress, basically. Competitive sports events coming up soon, supressed emotions, and a competitive spirit or worries about friends or something else can make you sleepwalk the night before
