- This video explains the Lil B Iceberg in detail, a lot of very speculative and most of the later theories explained in the video, I don't personally believe. Lil B is a great person and a role model to everyone. Just a bit of fun.

And then he proceeded to get things wrong. It’s lil b for lil boss, not because his name is Brandon. Also I believe lil b actually gave credit to Soulja boy for popularizing swag, not Jay-z. The bottom layers of the iceberg suck, plus he didn’t even make the iceberg he just “explains it.” In his explanation he suggested that lil b promotes violence, even though real lil b fans know that is not the case. Lil b would often put a disclaimer in the description of his videos saying that it’s just a song and he doesn’t condone violence. So to even suggest that is disingenuous and shows that his knowledge of lil b not really that extensive. Also it’s kinda a contradiction because in the beginning he says lil b is about promoting positivity, so how could you later say he promotes violence?
Most of this stuff is common knowledge to lil b fans.
He could have went a little deeper into lil b features and actually found something worthy of lower levels of the iceberg. Yes lil b did do some cheap features but what did those people actually get? For example there was a song lil b did a feature on where he actually dissed the guy on his own song. The song is called “idol.” Definitely falls into the category of “obscure lil b information”

It’s possible that there is more to the story than you can see on Reddit why lil b might have dissed the guy. Because on the surface this also goes against spreading love and positivity, even tho it is funny.
There was another incident also where someone paid lil b $200 for a feature and he allegedly kept asking them for more money later.
I bring these up only to say this. If you wanted to craft a theory on lil b not being who he claims to be or having ulterior motives, I would have brought up incidents like these. I would not say that he promotes violence. This just goes to show that bro didn’t really do that much research, and his knowledge of lil b is not nearly as expansive as he might think it is.

Lil B gotta be the most entertaining rapper ever. never a dull moment with this guy.
To be honest I’m not a fan of hip hop, especially modern rap.
But, I genuinely respect Lil B.
He’s one of the few well known artists that keep the spirit of Jazz and (original) Punk alive.
Even after achieving fame, unlike other artists he doesn’t chase after perfection in the studio.
He pushed boundaries. Instead of trying to make songs he feels he “should” make, and write music “correctly” like original punk & jazz he’s riffs.
And as someone whose been trained in classical music, I have the utmost respect for him to do this, even though my contemporaries would never agree, and they even say Death Metal is not “real music”. But even worse, they eat and destroy their very own regularly. They squash the human spirit, and those who write reviews on up and coming stars usually do so with hate and jealousy because they never made it themselves.
Excuse the massive tangent. But yeah I really love that every Lil B song I’ve heard is so different, which is more than I can say for the vast majority of artists, whose fans will even turn on them if they experiment for a single album/song.
Aye! I'm the creator of this iceberg. I posted this on the ThankYouBasedGod subreddit page like 2 years ago. This was mostly a satirical iceberg in parody to the boom of iceberg lists and the last 3 tiers are entirely made up. I like the effort and research you put into this, though. he's the perfect example of a rapper changing the idea of what rapping can be and could be...his based freestyle evolution after leaving The Pack is something of legend and should be studied...to completely divide hip hop fans and have half of them confused with the other half convinced was really something to witness...I remember hearing his new stuff in 2010 without even realizing he was the guy from that "Vans" song and it was confusing for me to get into at first...a few days went by and kept listening to him, it all of a sudden dawned on me that I was enjoying something I didn't yet understand and that really opened up my mind...I grew up in an era when rappers tried to be cool and sound cool, or be good and sound good, and be dope and sound dope...Lil B sounded like he couldn't care less about any of that, and not only did he just sound like that, but he really did end up sounding cool anyways, even when he was crying while rapping, screaming really weird adlibs, sounding like he didn't even listen to an instrumental he was rapping over...it was pure performance art at it's core, he's not trying to be a stereotypical rapper or musician, he's trying to make an art statement and say something about the music we're making as a culture
it's more so "outsider art" than it is "rap music"

Respect to this guy for the time put into making this video but idk man, feels not very based overall. The levels of the iceberg are kinda weird, he gets some things wrong, and he didn’t provide the links he said he would.
Also why would you suggest lil b promotes violence. In some of the songs with violent lyrics lil b gives a disclaimer in the video description that he doesn’t promote violence and it’s just a song. He always talks about love and hating violence so it’s wrong to even suggest that in my opinion.
Also he didn’t mention the rarest lil b based freestyles that were lost to twitch videos being deleted which would belong towards the bottom of the iceberg maybe.
You’re right about task force tho that definitely belongs on the iceberg, especially now that he has added new divisions of the task force. There are some divisions of the task force that you might not know about if you don’t watch his twitch or the videos that get uploaded to RUclips. For example “honey bun task force” or “fluff nugget task force” but there’s more too.

Lil B gave credit to Soulja boy for popularizing swag not Jay-z. RUclips deletes comments that have external web links, but if you just search up lil b interviews you can easily find it.
He mentions the 32 levels but didn’t explain them. Lil b has talked about the levels of based in his twitch stream but if you weren’t watching the stream that day/night you wouldn’t know because most of them don’t get uploaded to RUclips. I would have liked to see his twitch somewhere on the iceberg as well because he drops some rare based freestyles in there sometimes.
Also no mention of the Task Force, which is a huge thing to leave out.
