Love to all.
Holy mosses, mother Mary, and lenard Cohen, The best version of that song I have ever heard. Thanks brother.
I’ll second that !! Holy frig eh !
I took that train trip from Ontario down home a few times as a kid - what an adventure .....
Whilst hanging on every word, thanks to the double tap rewind 20 seconds feature, I don’t believe I have ever day dreamed about back home as much during a video. You are indeed living proof that good things don’t come easy or cheap. Without toil the lion knows no strength. Love ya right back.
My eyes filled with tears a few times listening to your story. And then, the song...thanks
This could be a movie, or a miniseries.
Thank you J.P. Great rendition of a great song.....
I love that song.....what a version JP...All the best
glad I finally got into this series, I watched so many of your live shows and needed more. You're definitely a good story teller
beautiful song !!!as I listened to the song I imagined you looking out the window of the train and seeing the beautiful Country land for the first time, wow what a story im hooked on your life story now I will watch everyone
Another amazing life chapter. I really enjoyed the Gordon tune JP. Thanks for sharing
What a beautiful song!
You had me laughing out loud listening to you speaking about your Mom. When she was at the Mall talking on the pay phones reaming out the phone company and then everyone else that got in her path. Your story which is in such detail, is how I write my book even though it's so exhausting, as I realize people that will be reading it, will need the detail to get the whole picture and idea clearly, just how life really was in my childhood.
The Gordon Lightfoot song "Canadian Railroad Trilogy" was fantastic JP. I saw Gordon (and a whole lot of other musicians , of course) in Orillia at the 50th Mariposa Folk Festival. In fact, back in 1981, I met a guy at a guitar shop in Vancouver, that actually built guitars for Gordon Lightfoot. He took me through all the stages of building the guitar, as I am fascinated on "how things are made" or how they work. I am amazed at the chords Gordon Lightfoot uses in his songs, ones I would never be able to play. I sing "Sit Down Young Stranger" of his, well, I can sing a lot of his songs, but I can't play very many of them. My favorite one is "Song for a Winters Night", it's on my youtube site.
I am really inspired by your "Life in music" videos JP and they have motivated me to get working on my book I also needed the kick in the butt, to put my pen to paper and back to writing how life was, living with PTSD, even as a child.
Thank you for your continuing videos, I certainly appreciate hearing these episodes each week.
Thanks very much.
Thanks for sharing JP. Despite it all, goes without saying yours is an exceptional gift/musical facility. Kudos for hanging tough. Inspiring to hear, as we sometimes think it easier for others because of their gifts. I sometimes think of Doc Watson, what he endured, pushed through, challenges & all (difficult life, still a total original who held it together & brought so much joy to so many, without fail).
What an awesome job on the song holy shit your an awesome artist!! Love it!!
I think JP did a whole album of Lightfoot songs.
Fantastic job on this song.
Another GREAT SAGA J.P. The "Trilogy" was Superb. Thank You. Really enjoying your "TALES of your life." Keep it up. Waiting for the rest of it. CHEERS Brother.
Thanks JP.
Loving this story.
Wow!! Enjoying this series J.P. Thanks for that.
Love listening to your stories, sad but I like hearing them. Thank you.
A great series JP. Tough going brother, but awesome. Great great Gordon.. Loved it 🍻🎶
Thanks again for the entertainment!
Holy crap. My grandmas name was Wildha. I’ve never heard of anyone else with that name til you said it😱
Super!
JP, you did a masterful job on that Gordon Lightfoot song. Gordon was a difficult singer/player to copy IMHO and I was surprised when I heard your version. I liked it as much as Gordon's version. And when are you coming to Fredericton or Moncton?
Thanks for the kick in the butt to get streaming again, JP
Went live last night for the first time in weeks, and it was fun, my fans have said great things, and they even donated a few bucks.....
I told them it was all your fault!
Cheers, mate
I am frankly amazed that you survived your childhood and managed, despite the trauma, to make your way in the world. It must have been sheer terror. There was nothing funny about our Mother's behaviour. I am so sorry you had to live through that.
Your mic sounds incredible
Now, why'd you have to go and start talking like that? You've got me almost crying for Nova Scotia here in Calgary .....
