  • Told in reflection, Wallace chronicles the day his life was forever altered by a chance encounter with the impossible.
    A WORD FROM CHRIS
    The Flash - Wallace, is my third installment to my "DC Perspective Films" series. For this story, I wanted to echo a very real and all too familiar situation that many people face every day.
    It should come as no surprise that the inspiration for this story stems from the tragic and senseless death of Treyvon Martin, but in keeping with the overall series' theme of inspiration, I did not want to let this story have a sad ending.
    I've always been a massive Flash fan, specifically John Wesley Shipp's legendary portrayal. And the chance to try and bring his version of the Flash back to life was a challenge I could not wait to undertake.
    Unfortunately, I did not have the same luck with wardrobe as I did with Batman and Superman, so instead had to rely on my own costume making skills to pull this one off. The suit was a regular morph suit, that I literally had to shade muscle texture onto with eye shadow. The emblem and lightning strips were just foam core sheets, spray painted gold. For the cowl, I bought a Batman face mask, then cut and shaped it as best I could to resemble the Flash's mask. Then I glued it under the red fabric, and topped the mask off with two custom sculpted Hermes wings for the ears.

    Wow, the Flash really does inspire people. I wasn’t a fan of the Flash growing up. I barely knew him. That was until 2014 when I swatched the Flash CW series. This short was inspiring. He really does save people in a flash. Thank you for inspiring me with my new roll model.

    Wow, man... Just, wow. As a fan of the 90s Flash series, and someone very much emotionally affected by what happened to Treyvon Martin, wow. 😥👌👍👍

    This was a strong and beautiful short film! This is easily one of your best films and I'm a fan from when you did those hilarious Blue Beetle and heart dropping Powergirl fan films! You know how to capture the essence of each hero/character, whether it's Superman, Freakazoid or whoever. Everyone doesn't need to be dark or "grounded", they just need to be themselves in any situation, from dark to light or hijinks. The hero or villain will always be who they essentially are in a given situation to show you why they are that type of individual and not just trying to imitate who's the most popular hero out now so, I can be cool like that.

    What I enjoy about your DC perspective series is the emotion and attention to detail you use in them. This one was very emotional and relatable for me. The costume work was great, the acting was amazing, and it was a very good film overall. Continue your work! Great job!

    Chris thanks for making this. Flash hasn't gotten enough good films like this. And its good that you put deeper meanings in your films rather than just make a film where the hero beats up come bad guys. Very well done

    Again, I can't begin to comment. I'm speechless. Idk how you do it, but you're building these wonderful, powerful, emotional, and admittedly, tear jerking, films. I can not wait to see what you have in store for Wonder Woman - Jaqueline. Chris, my hats off to you!

    Great work on this one. Great recreation of John Wesley Shipp's Flash costume, even though it wasn't perfect, it was very well made. I remember watching some of the 90's "The Flash" series when they reran it on the Sci-Fi Channel (before they became SyFy). Fun show for the time.

    • @blinky500
      @blinky500  6 лет назад +2

      this series was designed to not only tell meaningful stories about our favorite Leaguers, but it was also meant to show their most iconic and classic versions in a modern setting. unfortunately, green lantern and aquaman never really had that. so there isnt a definitive version of them i can use to help tell a story.

    • @fvillag1
      @fvillag1 6 лет назад

      In the case of Green Lantern you can use it to explain the kindness he sees against someone bullied because he or she is an immigrant like from Mexico or South America and police are abusing their autority.
      Aquaman would be to show respect toward anyone who does not protect the environment whether be land, sea or air. I know the last one is more often associated like that but still if done well it would work.
      Thanks again still.

    • @blinky500
      @blinky500  6 лет назад

      like i said, without a definitive visual cinematic representation for GL and Aquaman, it wont work. i used Reeve's Superman. Keaton's Batman and Carter's Wonder Woman. GL and Aquaman never got iconic looks or portrayals like the others did. thus, it wont fit.
