willthetrashman 500 to 650 all by hand finish in about 4hrs if we hustle...And we pick in Connecticut 2 guys rain sleet hail snow!! I’m about to go out in a hour and a snow storm just started soo should be a fun night!

Here in the uk we have a much better system. 2 bin lifts on the back which automatically tip bins when you push the bins on. These guys would take forever to finish a bin round in the uk as they work way to slow.
maybe in this area. but the large area that im from they knock out theyre routes in hours. Not like this guys taking days. XD we also have trucks with automatic arms. Like side loaders and front loaders with curotto cans. But they are usually used for recycle. Out trash is still picked up by a rear loader

Agree the are slow even when they have a machine helping them. I live by NYC and we don’t have these bins my town, also we subcontract out and they are fast. One guy drives while one is taking care of the garbage. They just grab the bin, dump it and toss it to the side, now I have a recycling bin like the ones in the video and most of the time it is full. My guys over here just use there two hands and one knee and just toss it right into the truck. So I just think these guys are week and 50% of the time these bins weren’t even half full so.
@@mdxcrafting9744 in Pittsburgh we have waste management. They use rear loaders like this one. and all they do is grab them from the cans and catapult them into the truck. takes them a whole 3 seconds a can. on average...
This truck is exceptionally terrible lol. Trust me, we have rear load and side load trucks that are exponentially better than this one. A good driver with a normal truck can collect 200 cans per hour.

I get using that bin picker upper thing if the garbage cans were full but most of those bins only had like 3 shopping bags full of garbage.
But you don't know how much those 3 bags weighed :)

Seems awful slow, seems it would be better to just manually tip the bins. Also with 3 guys 1 or two of you always seem to just kinda be standing around not really able to do much.

I remember when garbage men lifted the cans & they were metal , They would toss the lids lift with one arm tip the can with the other arm, 2 guys ,do both sides of the street at once, & move a lot faster than these 2. LOL

This was the trash route there are 3 separate routes depending on where you live Trash,Recycle, Compost
They might be slow, but in their defense, try doing that for 8 hours a day. Slow and steady is the way. The summer help kid is working fast though.
Mark B. Yeah this route is typically 12 hours but another company came in and snagged it. I’m actually the kid and this was when I would just “ride along” for the day if I wanted to work. My most recent upload is more recent footage where I’m actually hired by the company
willthetrashman I started with the Town I currently for at the dump. I was a flag man for the garbage trucks, then got to work the scales. Now I'm a utility locator for the DPW for 17 years. I don't miss the dump.

I noticed that a mix of recyclables such as boxes, plastic bottles, glass etc, are being mixed in with regular garbage and garbage bags.
Does this town not have separate trucks specifically for recyclable collections? My town does and they come by at the most randomly spaced out times between garbage pickup.
Ex: Recycling comes at 7:30 AM.
Garbage comes at 3:30 PM.
This contract does not have a separate recycle collection

Ok first off I work for a trash service why are two of them not wearing any reflection protective vests and when is the one in all black not have any gloves on like I said I work in the trash service and you need that reflective vest on to be seen for safety reasons

Where’s OSHA?! Cause oooofff, no vests, boots, or gloves. And PLEASE don’t stand behind the bin as it’s in motion or when the blade is packing. Things can come shooting out or explode out of the hopper as it’s being packed. And stop holding the bin as it’s getting tipped, I cringed everytime, lower thsy tippers pressure while your at it too, Jesus. When they say catapult the can in, they don’t actually mean literally 😂 or rather, just buy new tippers and get two cause this one is trash, might as well just rip it off and throw it in the hopper 😂

In America, it’s mostly common for them to have rear loaders, which is why they’re at the back to compact it and empty the bins. But in Australia we have side loaders which does it automatically.

I used to help as well when garbage pickup was done by the township before it was outsourced, long since moved and guess what, have to dump my own trash AND recycle! ( I actually dont mind it, cheaper then paying it through taxes or pay a private contractor directly!)

How many bin men does it take to load a wheelie bin? These guys are really bad at what they do! Using two lifting devices will be so much quicker. I wouldn’t pay these guys to take my rubbish! Also is it normal refuse, or recycling they are collecting?
