Never bothered to do it too much. Messing with guards when you don’t have to usually leads to alerts. Then again, killing them is literally the only way to get rations on Extreme difficulty.
@@tradne85 One of my favorite things to do with choking them is to choke them and drag them somewhere else, it makes it so easy to deal with one enemy while avoiding others. However I do hate how sometimes they will start an alert regardless.

I only ever played mgs4. I recently got a ps1 and a bunch of top notch games and I just started mgs1. This tutorial was so helfpul! I'm already excited to play mgs2
This is still missing something, technically! When you grab an enemy, if you just hold circle, you can drag them around. If they struggle you need to mash square a couple times. If you do that for long enough you'll _actually_ just choke them out temporarily rather than breaking their neck.
I wasn't born yet when MGS 1 came out so I got the original for PS1 so I can play the classics, and I was having a rough time in the FIRST STAGE. I'm too used to stealth in say Far Cry games or Dishonored and MGS 1 feels old in comparison especially in the control department. Gonna take what I learned here to play the game properly.
If you haven't played any Splinter Cell games, I recommend you try them. They are challenging and require patience. They aren't as cinematic as Metal Gear and the story takes a back seat. Best one is Chaos Theory.
