Some people do think the gain channel is fizzy on these. I personally think it gets that way when you switch on the bright switch. Other than that I find them much less fizzy than say, a 5150. Also I recorded with the standard SM57 which can make any amp sound fizzy, I like that mic less and less every time I use it. But yes the RUclips audio doesn't help. Thanks for watching.
Endless Recording Studios LLC thanks for the insight! I’ve been sorta ping-ponging between the Archon, a 5150 III, and a Mesa Mark V. I play lots of hard rock and blues but occasionally metal so I want something very versatile. The video definitely helps! Thank you!
No problem, I love it, I actually got some great bluesy sounds for a band last weekend, the guy used an SG with P90s and we got a dead ringer tone for Janis Joplin, it's super versatile. I prefer it to the 5150iii but if recording, using an Archon on on side and a 5150iii on the other sounds huge, they compliment each other nicely.
Does the gain channel sound a little fizzy to you guys? Or is that just RUclips's audio being lame?
