Hi Allison, lovely to see you back and still bursting with your infectious enthusiasm for your art. Please don’t worry that you are going off Subject or digressing as what you say is never pointless and you always relay such interesting and useful information. I look forward to hearing about your favourite art supplies and any hints on good white pens for Mmark making over watercolour and acrylic. Thanks for taking the time out of your busy life to make this video.

I love this video, I also have stacks of paintings, and I also go back to them. I learn more as time goes by and I pick up something I did years ago and I now I feel I can finish the painting. It’s important to know we continue to grow as artists, and each piece I do is me practicing and as I learn and grow my style improves, I then can go back and finish many pieces I was learning on. I believe that’s what this video is about also. We all need to see more videos like this. 🙌🏻❤️

Wow! So much inspiration... once again. I truly appreciate everything you impart in your videos and have learned so much that I am taking into my other creative pursuits as well as my beginning journey of watercolour/mixed media. 🩷 And I constantly marvel at your diversity of styles that are so vastly different but all so amazing and wonderful. I love the wooden panels your Dad made. So incredibly special. And I am percolating an idea of mounting individual "watercolour doodle birds" on the wooden blocks from old unmounted rubber stamps I have on hand to make a little flock to display. P.S. Glad my little whimsical birds gave you joy too. It's okay if they go in a drawer. 🥰

You are an artist who speaks from the heart. Thank you for all your advice, both materials and head-space wise ...I especially recognised the 'save the paints' as something I've unconsciously done for many years. You've encouraged me to focus on the creative output rather than having a stash of supplies! I look forward to your next video.
I live in Sydney, Australia but spent a few years in Canada in my 20s and still keep in contact with a close friend in Calgary, so I enjoy hearing about your surroundings - I loved the story of the moth! And thanks for the reference to Laura Horne - I'll certainly investigate her classes.

Sorry if I missed it, but can you share the oil painting landscape class you took? That painting is stunning!! I'm an abstract artist and abstract everything but would love to find a landscape class just for the information on composition and contrast that I can go ahead and abstract into my own style. Thanks!

You mentioned Smoke…I’m in the Poconos and have had air quality alarms going off since 4am this morning…it’s strange, last month we could see & smell the smoke.,today, it’s breezy and no haziness at all..but our AQI is 160 🤷🏼‍♀️ I WAS going to FINALLY go out and try and paint in the park across the street..sunny, breezy…then my neighbor came by and for the second time in a week burst my bubble. He tried to take his dog into the park..sunk down to his knees in muck and water. Last night, started to play with my Rosa’s paint..pure gooey mess…getting VERY frustrated. I can’t imagine what you guys in Canada are dealing with with the smoke..I KNOW you MUST be tired of it!

My eldest is in Atlanta, it’s even higher there, or was earlier today..yet, my youngest is in Buffalo with a 73 AQI…SO weird how this works! I KNOW if follows air currents & fronts..but, Atlanta at 163 this morning? Also, she said down there, very hot, humid, no wind, they can see the smoke

Yes, we continue to have hundreds of forest fires, and it's almost becoming the norm to alternate between blue clear sky and hazy smokey days. I try to get outside as much as I can on the blue sky days and when it's poor air quality and smokey, that is my time to paint indoors... Sorry to hear that you are also dealing with this in your area. And thanks for watching!
