You've got the right attitude for the amount of the work ahead of you, it can be very satisfying to bring a car back that was left for dead, all in all you've got to have the passion to do what you do😮
The old dude with the chainsaw in fast foreward was funny. Had a 57 Sport Sedan back in 1975, pretty car. Sport sedans have very under appreciated rooflines.
I love the Jenga structure under the Impala to shore it up. It brings back memories of my brother-in-law and I rescuing a ‘65 Wildcat out of a local junkyard. It’s no fun without a little danger. 😉
Well said. Sometimes I might go too far, but the market values, against the condition and availability of replacement parts, determine what's "worth it" or not to bring back. This is the 5th one of these I've been fortunate to find, so I have a checklist of what to look for on them
Great rescuen, having it rolling is going to be all the insperation needed for the next guy to finish putting it back together, there is potential there, Thumbs up, great video
Good point about tapping stuck parts while they soak. I like the Kanolabs Aero Kroil, expensive but worth it. Only recent failure was a couple of frozen brake bolts I had to drill out on the late 30s Plymouth axle I have on my most recent build. Most of the time it works miracles. Excellent video, my brother has a 68 Impala SS 427, rare with fewer than 1900 built
I'm in Mojave desert 🏜️ we don't find rust like that out here in the old car & trucks ,I only buy decent bodies ..thanks for the heads up on 4 door HT Impalas,,I'll be looking for them.
I love that body style of the 67 and 68 Chevy Full Sized cars! I owned a 68, my grandmother bought new. It's now in Germany, I miss it but glad I know where it is. The four door hardtop style is so attractive on this Chevy!!! Nice find!!!
I just love what you are doing, bring back some of the classes, I my self drive a 1977 Toyota Corona Wagon as a ever dayer ride thank for a Nother interesting video .
Great video Tim, love seeing you & Joe work on that sweet Impala, she's pretty rare & hard to find being a 4 door hard top. DD's Speed Shop, if he had it he probably turn it into a 2 door....hahaha.... Take care of You & Yours my RUclips friend.....👍👍👍👍👍's up on this video.....
I had a 67 2 door hardtop with a factory 327 turbo 400. I had a 4 door hardtop after I flipped the 2 door on it's roof. I liked my 2 door better. Thanks for sharing 👍
22:42..Wow..is that a '58 Skyliner retractable?...and, I always find it amazing, how few Edsels were built, and the number of survivors that are commonly quoted as existing..yet, it seems that in practically all of these old collections, salvage yards, anywhere there are old abandoned cars, there always seem to be Edsels...multiple ones, very often...
If this would have had a black vinyl top, I don't think I could have resisted a correct stock restoration to the trim tag. I'm a rigid "100% original" guy except in the case of movie cars. The reality of this one is that it will bring the most, and get the most interest, black with tan interior and chrome sawblade rims
I never started wit ha car that rough. But as I am a Chevy fullsize guy and a four door man, (I have a big family), I am always so happy to see one of those cars being rescued. I hope this one will be drivable again one day. But the amount of work and money necessary to make this happen, is not for the faint of heart. It was clever to put a weight on the rat trap. Those beasts can get crazy once they are trapped. Once I could not find a similar trap anymore. It was a bit smaller than yours. The rat succeeded to move itself and the trap for two yards. They ended up in an open bag and the beast ate huge holes into it while being inside the trap. My cellar was infested by those monsters. I shot some, poisened some. The worst was when they died and started decaying. My neighbours cat was kind enough to chase one out. At the end I had to brick an opening that was actually meant to let water drain. That seemed to solve the rat problem. Those beasts ate candles when they could not find anything to eat. They seem as tough as a classic Chevy.

I don't really have options for shipping one. I've got several more cars spotted and barely enough hoods to go around for them. I'll probably have to hang on to what's here to finish piecing these cars together
Well I should have been quiet a little longer you told me pretty much what I ask but its hard to believe you could make money on that besides maybe some trim
Fortunately we have a great confluence of situations here - there are wide open places for vehicles to lay at rest, and a gentle climate that is relatively friendly toward preserving them in restorable condition
What price would you put on a 66 dodge Coronet 440 in excellent condition with a 318 poly in it? He's only asking 3500. I think I could flip it and profit. Your thoughts?
Yes I have some extras available. I've also done a run of reproduction corner light brackets too. Email me at mrgoodpliers1985@gmail.com to get in touch
Cool find ars you going to leave it looking like shif or are you going to to make a super natural clone ?iWould I'd be worth it too don't leave it patina junky
This particular 4 door hardtop model has a cult following because of the TV show Supernatural. If it were a two door, or one year newer, or a year older, it would have been a $750 parts car in this condition. But, because of what it is, there is a standing list of buyers waiting to restore every one that's turned up. Believe it or not, there's a dedicated restoration shop in the D/FW area of north Texas that focuses on these cars
That's amazing. I'm not familiar with the show. I'll have to look it up. When I was a kid these just weren't special cars. They were quite common. Thanks for filling me in. @@mr.goodpliers6988
Ya know I enjoy watching your shows and I am not knocking or trying to be a smart ass but do buy that stuff for scraping or what I mean who would want that ole four door chevy as ruff as it is you can buy new panels for those cars with way less work than it would take to fix that just curious man its your affair but I cant help but wonder why
A 1967 four door hardtop is a very desirable collector vehicle because it was the hero car in the TV show Supernatural. It first aired in 2005. By that time, most 4 door cars had been scrapped at the end of their useful lives, or parted out to restore two doors. The show ran for an amazing 15 years, and attracted a cult following, drying up the supply of restorable 4 door hardtops. Every restorable example that is located now brings a premium over 2 door 1967s, and 1966- earlier Impalas and 1968-later Impalas.
Do not use a 1965 0r 1966 steering centrlink and steering arms on the spindles on a 1967 to 1970 Impala or Caprice Bel air Biscayne not the correct parts
I figured that out after removing them. They got stuck on the shelf for the next car. It actually turned out that I was able to free up the existing steering parts and get everything working, which was a surprise considering that they laid buried for so long. They will still need to be replaced with new parts, but the objective here was to be able to move the car around the lot and load it for transport
after all this time you don't have a decent trailer with a winch ??. you need better equipment if your gonna keep doing this,,,but I liked your videos .
That Butternut Yellow Impala was a beautiful car at one time. Love that yellow with black interior combo.
In Canada, the Impala was also called a Pontiac Parisienne, with Chevy motors and wasn't a wide tracking Catalina or Bonneville.

Between Joe and Silas your set up fairly well for parts - keep dragging them home
Outstanding! You have a good eye and discernment on when a parts car begins and a project car ends. Thanks for saving another one!

Nice to see someone bringing those old cars back to life. My dad had one like that but a two door but he was a ford guy and didn't keep GM cars long.
The sound of a manual come along clicking 😉👏👏 fantastic 👍
That's a working 💪 Man 🤠👏👏👏
Well done .. Doing the best you can to save the memories ✌️🤠❤️
Nice job tim ,glad to see you are getting one more together for someone to enjoy…
Glad this car is getting put together, i always liked the 67 impala year😀

Yes it's a '58 Skyliner retractable. Sadly it's rusted beyond restoration - however it is mostly complete for parts
My great-uncle had a '67 Caprice 4 door hardtop, way cool car, until 1977 or so. Gold with gold cloth interior.
Good job saving the Chevy
That is going to be an very cool ride, put it back on the street and enjoy the heck out of it.
It'll probably wind up being painted black, but if it were mine, I would be awfully tempted to paint it back the original yellow...

Mr. B. Here ! 👀😎👍🍔🍸 ! Mr. Goodpliers very nice ! All things considered this one is 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸Best of luck .
Nice project. It would be great restored, black paint old factory specs wheels and such.
Just love that old American iron here in Australia
great job! i have two very nice headlight bezels for the '67 Impala if needed, both for sale

HolyCrap! That Rat was big!
Score! Mr. Goodpliers for the win!
Hey good pliers! Get one of those bolt heater tools! You definitely need one. Save you a ton of grief
Great Lakes special. 😄 I know about that all too well.
Nice looking car for a sedan!
I think if you had put a new sharp chain on that guy's saw, he would have been so happy that he'd have given you another car for free.
not a bad pick up sir
Mr. B. Here ! The Rat cake works , yes a. Little but it will get its wing ! Bye-bye ! 👍👍👍👍
Thanks Mr good pliers ❤ love your videos thanks 👍 67/68. Peace Adios much blessings
Good luck on that back window...$$$.
Fortunately the one from the 1967 Oldsmobile was the same, so I have acquired it
Sport and sedan. Two words that dont go together. Lol
Think thats how the Egyptians moved thier impalas
Make it a LS swap cruiser with modern everything!
Any luck locating a good hood for a 67' yet? I am still looking for one!
I don't really have options for shipping one. I've got several more cars spotted and barely enough hoods to go around for them. I'll probably have to hang on to what's here to finish piecing these cars together
Hope the last car had good floors
The parts car's pans were rotted and buckled. New pans and braces are available at reasonable cost
Classic ind has all sheet metal for these cars
I'm putting together a list now
Non post car👍
like to have those bumper ends off the 49 through 52 chevy by the 67
They didn’t smash the wing windows!
The driver's rear door glass was spared too. Fortunately I have been able to source all of the replacement glass for this car
I see you have a parts car for the 67' Impala 4dr hardtop. Any chance you have an extra set of the headliner trim for sale?
I might have an extra set on a parts car. Email me mrgoodpliers1985@gmail.com
Rats & packrats are big enough to get out of a regular trap so I have nails welded to my traps to get them first time & it's instant death.
My next investment will be a "Ratinator" multiple catch trap, available on eBay for around $90
Well I should have been quiet a little longer you told me pretty much what I ask but its hard to believe you could make money on that besides maybe some trim
go back and get those bumper ends off the 50 chevy
Originally a 283 car.
Did you pass up on the AD pickup that was at the same place as your Impala? It looked decent.
I'm considering it. The price was a little strong, but decent straight half tons like that aren't around every corner
Where do find all these jems. Up here in Connecticut its pretty sparse.
Fortunately we have a great confluence of situations here - there are wide open places for vehicles to lay at rest, and a gentle climate that is relatively friendly toward preserving them in restorable condition
👍👍👍👍
This one is pretty rough is it worth the bother
67 four door hardtops are worth twice as much as a two door. If this were a two door, it would be a parts car in this condition
Have you ever found a '67 Caprice station wagon?
I've never seen one, but there is a guy in Minnesota who has one
@@mr.goodpliers6988 You think it could be possible to have some pics of it?

That doesn't seem too bad. B body Mopars are desirable
Never seen one. What’s a torque multiplier?
It's a mechanical device to amplify torque via an internal gearset. It will move the most stubborn fasteners that an impact won't budge
That's a factory A/C car. It had manual steering?
It's a power steering car

That mofo looked like he wouldve taken your leg off if he happened to drop in your lap hahahahahaha 😂😅😮😢😊

Any parts to sell?
Yes I have some extras available. I've also done a run of reproduction corner light brackets too. Email me at mrgoodpliers1985@gmail.com to get in touch
How much would you sell that thing for?
Thanks for your interest in the car. Email me at mrgoodpliers1985@gmail.com

Yeah, that patina thing has been ridden to death...It's a fad I'm definitely over....
Shiny black is the only way to fly with this one
Must be nice:(
