You are an animal and an inspiration! I am a recently widowed 64 year old after 42 years with my soul mate. Cancer took her away. I love my Philodo. I gives me peace. Thank you for sharing! God bless you.
Sorry to hear about your soul mate, I can not imagine the pain of going through that. May The Lord give you comfort. So glad the bike helps you to cope. I am humbled that you stopped by to visit, maybe in a small way I hope to have brightened your day. Keep riding my friend, and never give up.
I'm 61 and had been doing a round trip 38 commute to work on a 1984 Raleigh for years which got to be way too much on the hilly rural ride in Fairbanks, Alaska with my heavy panniers. My legs would get way too spent and it took way too long. A few months ago I got a 60V Fabulous EMX Extreme dual hub drive and what a blast. Life changing and has put the joy back into cycling. I agree, it makes you feel like you are 16 years old again. I also purchased a Biktrix Stunner X6 mid-drive but don't like it as much, and the rear wheel bearing already went out which I am currently working out under warranty. Hub drives are the way to go!
Congrats on the bike, sounds like you know the feeling. It is hard to explain until you try it. I have wanted to try a mid drive, but so far I have only rode hub motors. Pushing towards 20,000 miles, they seem to hold up pretty good.. Are you able to ride all year round or does it get too snowy or cold?
Papa, I'm 66 just bought a bike like yours, have 9 miles on it! But ill ride it, my only problem is I don't have the roads less traveled like you have. Like you I haven't been on a bike in 30 years except a motorcycle. I'm enjoying my riding and watching you!
I know I am fortunate to have these back roads to ride. Maybe you can find a bike trail or something. You will probably be surprised at all the places you find to ride. I am still finding them. I will know every pig trail road out there within a 50 mile radius before I am done LOL. Anyway, thank you so much for watching. Congrats on the bike, you have many miles of enjoyment ahead of you. : ) I always say it makes me feel like I am 16, that is why I like to ride so much. Stay safe.
Hi,you are fantastic!,i just got 1 of those bikes,& im so glad i did i love it,im 72 looking 4 some nice weather 2 RIDE,i think i mad a good choise on this bike cuz i seen your 7000 odomater,iv rode m-sycles all my life, dirt rideing mostly,& i do need 2 RIDE LOL,I LOOK FORWORD 2 MORE OF YOUR VIEOSnthank u & may god keep on plessing u.
I am currently over 13,300 miles so I think you made a good decision. : ) ruclips.net/video/bdIO74N8pSE/видео.htmlsi=0AErFHvFbUyJsDQJ This bike will make you feel 16 again, Hopefully you will get some warm weather soon so you adventure can begin. Thanks for watching, Enjoy your new ride : )
That is a sweet setup. I bet you are really easy to see in the dark. Do the disco lights show on the pavement or do they shine out? I never seen one like that, I am interested in what it does.
I have them pointed at the ground in front and below the seat. Their wired to a USB charging pack in the rear bag with the second battery. I'm looking for XT60 to USB adapters to streamline the whole using a XT60 splitter. I'll email you some more pix soon!@@papablueshirt
Sounds like fun. If you checkout my Philodo List in my Amazon store there is a xt60 to usb adapter. Not sure if that is what you are looking for. www.amazon.com/shop/papablueshirt
LOL, it sounds like mine. My Ecotric sits with a missing spoke [used on Philodo] and a flat tire. It does have a new battery. I will probably get it road worthy over the winter. It will soon loose the crown as the ebike with the most miles ; )
I know this video is kind of old but would you recommend the 52v 24ah battery instead of the 48v 24ah battery? I hear the 52v one would give you more range but is it compatible with the bike? I dont have a dedicated place for a second battery i just plan on backpacking it. Thanks in advance
I heard you can do that, but have not tried. I know my batteries show 52 volts when fully charged. Not sure what a 52 volt would show, maybe 54-56. I carried my extra battery on my Ecotric like that, and it was a real pain. It always seemed to die in the middle of traffic LOL. Carrying it loose in a bag was problematic too as it bounced around so much. You might just mount the cradle to your luggage rack, then it would be pretty secure. But I guess if you do that, you could also get a splitter and be ready to go. You probably know this, but two batteries with a balancer will go much further than batteries that you switch as they are more efficient. I think I have over 10k on my dual battery setup, so it has worked well. You may have seen my conversion video, but here it is just in case ruclips.net/video/o4BVWUffIO8/видео.htmlsi=n4abjiclbOkrx0s3 Just a heads up, when I installed the big battery on the back, it did introduce a slight wobble on the front wheel. I could no longer ride no handed. I don't do that much, but sometimes I switch my phone or something and would let go. It would then start to wobble. I did not notice when holding on. Here is a fun fact. When I installed my motorcycle type tires and put flatout in them, it cured the wobble. I guess that fluid in the tire made it like a gyroscope : ) Sorry so long Let me know how it turns out : )
@@papablueshirt thank you for the quick reply! Maybe in the future ill get a splitter and mount the battery on the rear rack but for now i do not have enough momey to do all of that. A typical ride into town and back home is around 30 miles so im sure the second battery would be sufficient enough plus itd be good to drain the battery a little as i hear keeping a battery and high charge and not touching it for a while can make the battery life worse. I plan on using this bike to commute and do any and all daily tasks and im sure this battery alone can do 30 miles i just dont want to have range anxiety while riding, plus max speed all the way to and from is a bonus. I think ill try the 52v battery when i get the money to buy it and make sure to get some padding n what not to put inside of my backpack for the battery. Thanks again for the reply, love the videos btw keep it up! Youre actually the reason i decided to get the philodo h8 instead of the wired freedom. (Because of your upgrades)
Cool, sounds like you have a plan. Yeah, I try to not charge my bikes unless I will ride it soon [within a week] as it is hard on the battery to just sit there. I just passed 14k miles, so I think you made a good choice. Let me know how the 52v battery goes, I may want to do that in the future : )
Do you know what the official nm of torque is on this bike? They say 85 x2, but I don't know if that is that simple and if that is how dual motor torque works.
Yeah, I guess it is 85 per wheel. Not sure how that works with dual motors. I will say the bike has been a blast. I will soon pass 13k miles in about 11 months. Only thing I have had to do is change the tires. The front once and the back 3 times : ) Sorry I could not be of more help.
@@papablueshirt great info on your channel. I think many people wouldn't trust the manufacturer if it wasn't for you. Just because it's not one of the big manufacturers. Did you change the tires cause of flats or wore through them? Have you tried Tannus?
I had my first ever flat during my 2000 mile review you can see that here: ruclips.net/video/hAuoE7ejXz8/видео.htmlsi=4IucUuQUoWSGK6au I had two flats in a row, that is when I discovered flatout. I have not had a problem since. I have not tried the Tannus, but I heard it is good. I then wore out the next rear tire after about 5k miles if I remember right. Then right before 10k miles I changed them both as they were getting bald. I went with motorcycle type tires and it it really helped the handling. Especially in the curves. So I have almost 3k miles on those tires and they still look new. Thanks for your kind words. I have put a lot of miles on my Philodo. I went back and rode my Ecotric a while back and I could not believe I put 10,600 miles on that. It did take me 2 years. The Philodo is so much fun it only took me about 10 1/2 months. : )
Congrats on the 1k miles. I don't blame you on winter riding, it can be brutal. That is why I was trying to bank miles during the warm weather as it will be hard when it turns cold. I do ride in the winter, but I have to limit my miles on really cold days. I am hoping for a mild winter. Thanks for watching : )

Yes thanks to you papa blue. I wanted to buy it from you and I couldn't because of reasons I can't discuss. I have about 28 members and figured why not? There was no philodo group there. You are an inspiration for the philodo bike and my members know all about you. I have learned alot from you and my bike is rocking end to end. I have done alot of upgrades and especially accessories. Thanks again for all you do👍
Yeah, it sure looks nice, I am glad that I am an inspiration, riding an ebike has sure changed my life. Some might say I am a little excessive, but I just enjoy riding. It rained here yesterday all day, and it was killing me not to ride. After dark I was tempted to go out as the rain stopped, but it was probably wise to wait. I will have a nice ride today. Getting closer and closer to my 10K goal. I have a feeling I am going to blast right through it. ; ) Still undecided on the blue tires. I just changed my rear tire after 5100 miles [upcoming video] So I will decide on that the next time around ; )
