4 Easy Ways to Move Walls to Plumb

  • We go to a lot of work to snap out lay out square and parallel on the floor. Then we take great care to make sure that lay out is accurate on our plates. Then we frame to the lay out. All of that can be for nothing if we don't plumb and align our walls. We need to keep walls plumb and straight while we frame the next floor above or roof.
Here are 4 easy ways to push or pull walls to plumb, and brace them so they stay that way.
The tools I use and recommend acmetools.pxf....
Please remember that I'm not showing the best way to do anything, but just the method that works well for us. Thanks for watching!
Oh and another takeaway, if you use a drone for commercial work, you need to be part107 certified. Commercial work includes social media like RUclips if you plan to make an income off of that. I watched a video about this last May and then purchased the Part 107 Course sso.teachable.... I studied and learned for 1 month and then took my test. I scored a 95%, which is a testament to how good Greg and the crew over there teach. That link will save you $100 off the course and support this channel.

Great video! I have used all 4 of these moving/ bracing techniques. However, I did learn a valuable new lesson in exiting our telehandler. I'll be sure to incorporate that technique in our Forklift Certification Training! 😂 Keep up the great work Tim!

We used metal wall pullers they were amazing. Fast to setup and fast to use. Also stronger than any wood brace.

Sometimes I need to use the tough but fair method. "Straighten up and stand right, I ain't having no one come by and say no wall of mine was built like some loose DR Horton hussy"
But sometimes if you get lumber from the orange or blue places, you have to get a little more militaristic, and that method isn't allowed to be printed on RUclips.

It seems like King studs could be eliminated allowing more room for insulation. Just add a small one on top of the trimmer and header.

I also don’t think the emphasis on everything being straight is very modern of you
