Fishing is sort of already there. The material you get for killing fish is used in recipes. I suppose what needs to be expanded is the amount of different animal resources there are and food recipes using them. There could be a "fishing rod" multitool upgrade that does massive damage to aquatic species with its own little minigame though. I could foresee this multitool component being called the "aquatether" or something, being a laser beam that entices fish with a selected resource or item as bait (animal/fish meats, carbon, fruits) and upgrades for it increasing the reward of fishing. Obviously they could also add trophy components for fishing we could use to create special furniture items duplicating the look of the fish to be displayed. That last one also opens up a new item for animals as well, trophies to be used as display furniture of animals you run into.

I love nomanssky truly but over the years they have fixed everything I had a problem with EXCEPT THE BIG ONE. Fucking combat. Everyone can agree when they say the space combat is minimalistic and sub par. No matter how pretty the game looks the combat is not engaging so I sure hope they can fix that soon.
What's this fishing nonsense. Why fishing. Go play a fishing game. I prefer real features like sea monsters that try to eat you besides the round horror blow fish. Or how about getting a base counter or a way points navigator for previous visits. New feature of Secure Drop boxes for players to transfer/trade goods. Or expedition builder so community can build their own unique lore. And maybe if we visit them. We get to play their expedition. Finally a visitor guest book for bases. Fishing naw. Play gone fishin
