It felt like a lonely place trying to get people to listen to Mdou back in 2017, five years later I'm so glad he's getting the recognition he deserves. Pure talent ❤️
Thank you KEXP for introducing me to this band
Same here
Ditto ! KEXP has been my gateway for so much great new stuff ! I discovered them via the first session one of my favourite Los Bitchos played . Hail KEXP and everyone who wants new music !
Me too! Love me some KEXP.
Bar none one of the best groups rocking the world right now.
Truly magical cats.
Mdou is a treasure who sees fame as nothing more than sheer enjoyment of his band's message through their music.
He also sees it as a way to help his people. Its truly music from the heart.
His albums make great road trip music. Fantastic.
This band became my new favorite discovery in 2021. Truly bringing rock music back to its roots and taking it new places.
For sure, check out Bombino too, especially his debut 'Agadez'...
D
Sweet sound and amazing guitarist.Greetings from Panama. When a listen his music I think one thing ==== Culture
It seems like Hendrix was reincarnated in a Tuareg woman's womb in the Sahara. Fender couldn't have picked a better representative for what their instrument can be used for
Totally Hendrix!
How glorious and intoxicating, Mdou is true original and i'm so excited the world (and Obama) is getting to know him.
Aloha from Hawaii wow this band rocks!!! Thank you Fender!!!
Heard these guys on a local college radio and I was instantly mesmerized with their huge sound and amazing jams. Much love from Canada!

this guy is GOATED. wow!
The message in the begin is powerful!
Seeing Mdou in one month! I am very excited. His guitar is so amazing to me.
I hope to see them in april, but due to the covid restrictions i doubt it
me too!! can’t wait I love their music so much
Just saw him in atlanta. It was incredible. His playing is very unique, unlike anything I've personally seen.
Ahmoudou just flat putting the rhythm in rhythm guitar! 🤘🏼
..i just love these band!...they are doing a great job..their concept is very أصلي!!!
Okay! Back to the roots when the new musicians lost the road and the feeling, ok! That’s all right mama!
FANTASTIC SHOW in Milwaukee a few months back!! Come back soon, Mdou!! We love you!!
This session is pure magic, thank you Mdou.
I saw and LISTENED them in Pori Jazz Festival 2022. Amazing sound! Surpringsly, the drummer was there in main role.. the band rocked very well..
This is a picture from that concert, right? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mdou_Moctar#/media/File:Mdou_Moctar_Pori_Jazz_2022_(01).jpg
Excited that I am going to see these guys live on the 24th of March at the Ramkat in Winston Salem, North Carolina... a rather small venue with great sound! I am looking forward to the show very much.
hope you had a great time, saw them live as well a few weeks ago and it was amazing
@@verirrteskamel They were fabulous. There was a bit of an issue with whoever was running sound -- don't know if the person was brought in with the band or was employed by the venue -- but they had Moctar's guitar very loud which limited hearing the other instruments -- even when Moctar sang, his guitar was louder than his voice. But it was still a wonderful show and the drummer -- he was so intense... out of this world!! I wish they had played more than an hour but... am glad to have had the experience of hearing their music.
Going to see them next week in Finland Pori jazz festival. Amazing! Welcome to Finland!
Música para acariciar mi alma y oídos💚 gracias!
One of my most favorite guitar players ever such epic stuff!
He needs to also be a session guitarist for other bands these rock and rollers are gonna love him for fill ins and he's got a great voice too
This guy is a pure genius I love his tone
Very nice! He has a unique style and seems to be a humble person.
The drummer should also have a fender for this video to achieve perfection
This is great! Thank you Fender for showcasing these wonderful artists!
I agree!
Smart commercial sense from the Big F ! I hope they are giving free instruments out too ; there are budding Mdous all over the world .
i love them so much
JC120 Roland AMP REPRESENT! YEAH!
0:21 Afrique Victime/Ilana
10:28 Ya Habibti
15:01 Chismiten
They are definitely on to something. I have enjoyed his guitar playing for many years now.
This man has feel! Such a great band!
Sahara music with Hendrix spices 🤙
I wish more people would take Mdou's words to heart about being blind to color. It seems many in the west have deemed that to be a racist concept.
Killer set, been following their every move since i saw them on KEXP. The band gets tighter and tighter and their improvisational flow and familiarity with each other and the music brings to mind the early Allman Brothers. Only one drummer doing the work of two. That man is incredible!
Why mention colour
@@boldertash he did buddy 21-22 seconds. Have a nice day.
@boldertash you're a white guy . I can tell .
Отличная команда
Great find for me, thanks, Fender.
This Sounds Sick !
These dudes rule. This is the best thing you’ve posted since the Chris Scruggs stuff. Not being rude, but also one of the few things I’ve even cared about.
"they listen to van halen..." i have some jimi bootlegs to suggest too, lets start with winterland or band of gypsys....or better yet dont listen to anything....for what its worth, this was the first video of these guys i saw, then had to research all the past posts from over the years.....super unique and the evolution here is apparent; the tones are maturing and are only going to get better. the older stuff is great, but this performance is astounding. both guitars sound incredible, what ever the set up is, you found it, dont change a thing... drum tones especially shine, and for an outside throw together, wow astounding...back to jimi, there are some boots that have multiple sources, and when a performance is captured properly, an infinite level of personality is presented that gets lost when you hear the same show as recorded from the back of the room - hats off to producer & bassist Mikey Coltun for nailing it...cant wait to see whats next...this could blow up huge....major discovery.
would be nice to have closed captioning of the translation of the lyrics as an option to turn on and off
Saw them play live, had a great time!
WOW!!!
I love it!
Hey cool performance. The whole band is good
Refreshing to hear honestly
This guy is absolutely on a different level. I discovered him at New Orleans Jazz Fest a few years ago. BLEW my mind. A mix of Jimi and Stevie Ray Vaughn imo. Just love him.
Jimi maybe. SRV? No way. This is a slopfest.
@@aaronkristo858yeah .. well .. ya know, that’s just like your opinion, man
@@brianbell369 It's not my opinion actually. He is a sloppy player. That is a fact.
@@aaronkristo858 you are the “fact” man??!!? Wow! Been wondering where you were. . Nice to meet you.
@Aaron Kristo he's improvising ; it's called feel . You had better stay clear of jazz , it will burn out the last fuses in your little robot mind .
COOOOL MDOU MOCTAR
Fantastic! Thank you so much for your music!
Superb.... Whatelse to say
The TONE on that Cream strat! sweet as.. need a Rig run down on them pedals. is it a FENDER EOB SUSTAINER STRATOCASTER he's playing?
Yeah seems to have a different neck pickup could be is so awesome!
I think it is. That’s a sustainer in the neck position
I love it!
Me alegro que crecieran más después de KEXP
Great tunes, inspiring work 👏
Respect from Mexico
They rule.
Legends!!!
Love this songs
Third stone from the sun,JIMI was plugged in 48 years ago.
¡¡ SUPER!!
Wow. NICE!!!
Some solid songs to start my day. Vibes^2
Brilliant!
Saw thes guys a few years ago in a small club here in Halifax and it was amazing.
This is great! Reminds me of Hendrix.
A legend☝️☝️☝️
🔥🔥🔥
Témsayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
I didn't know until today that you'd already been reincarnated - welcome back Jimi! \m/
What is that neck pickup on his white strat?
Oof absolutely loveee them
There are other groups like them , BOMBINO and tinariwen for example.
Thankfully. I was raised by parents that were not ptedjuudocoal
Lefty like jimi hendrix
Translations would be cool :)
Dang!
saharan Hendrix
#UMAFENDERDEPRESENTEPRAMIM
I have to wonder if he ever heard any Neil Young? maybe he should?
Why ? Sounds like he's doing just fine already . I suspect he's having too much fun making his own music to spend much time listening to others 🙂
Interview: he’s a huge fan of Hendrix and EVH. Hendrix has the sounds of the Touareg, Mdou proceeds to play traditional Touareg stuff and damn if it doesn’t sound like Hendrix was cribbing their sound.
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🫶🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Give them some synths ..watch out
I don't get it...you read the comments before watching the video, and your expecting to be blown away by the eastern Hendrix...I mean the dude can play.., but this doesn't sound like anything more than some dudes fucking around. That first songs guitar solo is just him trem picking a bunch of shit. It sounds like a garage band
See its funny because many people in the 60s said that Jimi and his contemporaries were just fucking around and making noise. Seems like nothing has changed :)
Where,s the belly dancer 💃?. It sure has that feel…..doesn’t it.
Tuareg culture doesn't have 'belly dance'. ruclips.net/video/vdW63HFTT3Q/видео.html
So expressive playing, with so little expression from the band that one could confuse with boredom. Though the music has trance vibes so maybe that's fitting. But it's far from sth that could inspire crowds & generations like Hendrix. Just a thought if he's advertised as one of today's most exhilarating guitarist (not saying that he's not, but still...)
HUGE Disappointment in the quality and attention to detail ordering and returning my Miami blue pro series 2 bass for the second time
First 1 I ordered shipped wrong ordered a maple neck with it was sent a rose wood neck
Today picked up my series 2 with maple neck volume and tone knobs are backwards being lefty there set up as right handed knobs and low E sounds like garbage with the pickups
Should’ve kept the first one you guys messed up
Why mention colour, always baffles me the mention of colour, and just to let you know I am blue
Overrated. Sorry.
Nice guy, super crappy music
That would be your opinion. Guess what Dario? You'd be wrong!
