- Just a quick video discussing the breakup of the incredible UK rock trio black midi. Since 2019, they have released three albums (Schlagenheim, Cavalcade, and Hellfire) and have gained a massive cult following. This is one of the weirdest breakups I've ever seen a band have. It feels like the three of them hardly have any communication anymore which is very sad. Hopefully we'll see some future transparency about what's really going on between them and definitive news about the future of black midi but until then we'll just have to wonder.

Have to tell myself this in regards to music all the time. At least we will always have their music to take bring them back into the world with us.

As someone who has never heard of black midi and who just got this video in my recommended, I am deeply saddened
they are totally amazing
The vibe I got from their interviews was that their relationship was purely a proffessional one, with Greep stating in one interview that he was jealous about how Black Country, New Road are all friends and hang out outside of shows, so idk. I hope that now they've gone seperate they'll be able to expand their sounds in a way that they couldn't when compromising with a band

This really sucks :( they were my favourite band. :(( I was really hoping they'd drop 15-20 albums over the next 30-40 years :(

What an incredible band at the very least to end this journey with Hellfire. That album is perfect beyond words.

so insanely happy i got to see em before they broke up. got tickets on a whim when i found out they were coming to my city and it was pretty much the best night of my life. i think greep's new project has a lot of potential though.. the magician and holy holy are insanely goated oh my god
People don't talk about this a lot, I haven't even listened to it personally but they released an album on Bandcamp during 2020 which they call an audiobook, besides that however, it is sad to see them go even if it's indefinite, let's hope they do come back soon even if it's something like 3 or 4 years from now, probably too soon but idk

It seems pointless continuing just for the same of it. They've said what they needed to.say. I liked them.A lot. One of the few new groups who were genuinely pioneering - looking forward not back.

This is one of those first artists that I connected with, so seeing this left me feeling bummed out.
I saw them in DC so I’m happy I got that but it’s so sad that they’re done.

They will get back eventually to tour again once their other projects don't take off as well. Very sad to see them part as they only have 3 LPs. 2 of those 3 albums are classics with tons of great songs between them. Rip Black midi
