I've always been intrigued by the stock and SS engines. Mainly the gnarly cams providing the gnarly idle still crunching away at 3k. Aside from that all the meticulous work and development is cool. Poor man's pro stock. Not meant as an insult. Food for the obsessive individual
Nice! thanks for letting us see it. I can imagine the hours involved with setting up the details like the valve train. I find the stock/super stock engines fascinating.
Just a thought on your 780 Holley if you want to stop from playing with those secondary’s you can lock them down using the linkage with a small screw and nut and then you can set it to open when you want. The rule just says you have use the vacuum secondary carb
NOTE: The intake and exhaust runners, and chambers must remain stock volume for HP claimed. Stock CR and valve size must remain stock as well. Looks good. What car is going in?
You mentioned the valve springs that you are running on your engine do you mind sharing the installed height that you set them at with that PAC spring in those cylinder heads I’m just curious because I looked up the recommended install ht.Thanks I’m a superstock fan for years and you are going to have a record breaker for sure.
Sure there are. Dart and World make some legal iron heads. Still get hit with weight. If you think you can buy a OEM 041 over the counter, your retarded.
@@SpeierRacingHeadsBrenton K: Aftermarket heads are usually + 10 HP. That means your NHRA rated HP is 10 more so if your class is 12 Lbs. per HP that's 120 Lbs. added to the shipping weight. That could move you into the next class. Now your index is .15 seconds quicker.

It's important that we educate to our highest standards. The "smart" community is on the run these day. Knowledge is power.

Bad ass! Very interested to see how you’re edelbrock heads perform.

Cavalier GT/FA
. The Edelbrock heads are allowed 172cc over the 164cc OEM.
@@SpeierRacingHeads In what division are you?
Awesome Chad , Race Car !
Thanks, very nice! 👍👍👌👌
Looks like a really nice well-thought-out engine. What did you have to do to overcome the slight restriction of the size of the Carburetorr?
Dig the T-handles!!!

Thanks for sharing that with us, what are the cam specs? just joking.
Can this engine be a 2 ringer?
that's cool!
Awesome!
Not sure if i missed it but why is the distributor setup like that.thanks
Just curious why the difference in pushrods?
Chad ,do you run oil restrictors back of the engine where the cam plug is ?
Super nice
You should get that fuel regulator and fuel lines far far away from that ignition coil before you set yourself on fire.
Lt1, as in reverse cooled gen2 ? Or first gen carbed 350 from the early 70's?
1970 LT1
Do they limit you to a 6 series ignition box?
no, any ignition you want.
That's a nhra legal super stock combo?
100% Legal Super Stock engine.
I bet it makes at least 365hp....
Bullshit, there are several iron heads available New.

@@JohnW1711stock it's only 5 lbs. LT1 combo OEM is 325. aftermarket is 330.
@@SpeierRacingHeads The 3-digit NHRA number makes the car lighter! LOL!
Can you run turbo 292s
