I love Super Stock ! I had a super sweet 68 GTO I raced for years and a 66 that I also raced and was able to drive on the street from time to time. Both cars would run mid to upper 11's all day. Although about eight years back I had to part with both to help with unexpected medical issues. Happy to say I've pulled through and doing a lot better now. I have a 67 LeMans that I've been dragging around for the past twenty-three years and decided its time to build another street & strip super stocker. Luckily over the years I've accumulated lots of new and used parts it shouldn't take long to get her running. Can't wait to slide behind the wheel and fire the ol' girl up.... God Bless America!

Granted this is just qualifying so it’s heads up racing but why no ET’s posted? This just looks like bracket cars mislabeled as Super stock cars.

@@AutoMotoCha9L at the time I lived in SeaTac Airport area. 1980's sometime.
Bigwheel Auto Parts on Highway 99.
      Marty was the machinist.
I was in the front parking lot. Someone needed money and was selling his 80 Ford Ranger. Had a 302 conversion.
I bought the truck for $1,400 bucks. Marty suggested I bring it to SIR. He said he'd be racing the same day in his late model Chevy with a 468.
Before going to SIR, I went over the truck. Checked, tightening what needed.
Waiting in line that morning took more than two hours. Lots of cars showed up.
At the Christmas tree. I gave it gas and the truck started cutting out. I'm like what the f!ck. I just drove the truck for two weeks. Nothing acting up. Drove it to the track. Nothing acting up.
So I get it. Sometimes you have to work out the bugs at the track.
In the pits I look the truck over. Secure any loose wire. Checked fuel pressure.
Get back in line wait 3 hours this time.
I was next to make a run. They shut our line for the rest of the day. So the other classes took over. No more street cars.
My friend Marty, he only got to make one run too.
Later that week I asked Marty at Bigwheel if it's always like that at SIR.
He made some kind of excuse that didn't make me happy.
I even loaned out some tools that day at SIR and the f!cker never brought them back.
I moved out of that liberal sick azz state ten years ago.
A lawyer in San Diego , who collects and sells Mustangs, not an expert by any means, had a 67 forsale.
I drove way down their with wife and daughter.
I couldn't believe my eyes. A 64 top oiler fully race prepped in a 67 fastback. Tubed roll cage. The works. Been sitting. The carbs were leaking gas.
I said don't worry about it. I told him I'm taking the engine apart and inspect it.
The engine is more than I expected. But the lawyer didn't tell me it keeps breaking rocker arms.
Well the garbage man saw the car in the garage, and told me he runs the tree at our local track and invited me to go.
If I can work out the bugs before I go, I'll think about it. The ladder bar broke on the drivers side twice when I hammered on the throttle.
Someone before me switched out the 427 crank for a 428.
Can't get a good launch without worrying something going to break.
I'd rather switch back to a 427 crank.
I've just rebuilt a 390, going to put it in and not worry about breaking anything. Good car for a beer run. Street legal.

Today’s super stock and stock eliminator has a lot of classic cars but also everything up into modern cars as well. You might see a Dodge Coronet racing a brand new Camaro. Those eliminator classes are broken up into many sub classes to try and level the playing field. Also I think SEGAA does not show the time because in 1967 they didn’t show the time at the finish line. I could be wrong on that one. But I’m pretty sure that’s the reason.
