    Fun Fact about Male Lions.
    1. Their presence in a pride is to work as a protector to ward off various threats. This also applies to be an attacker for taking down larger prey if there isn't any options.
    2. Baby male lions are kicked out of their pride when they're old enough to fend for themselves, and not old enough to present a threat. This often leads to bachalor prides, or basically male lions that group together to keep themselves alive.
    3. Male Lions either have to find other what the movie would call 'strays', or take over territory of another lion, usually the latter. This results in the explulsion of the previous 'king'. The result is older male lions, who are weaker than when they were alone, and often injured from the fight.
    4. This often ends up resulting in male lions living the rest of their lives slowly starving to death and alone for their final months. At the ripe old age of... probably 10, as Lions start to weaken out then. Meanwhile female lions often stay in their pride until the day they die, at around 14-16.
And last but not least, because this movie likes to go "Male Lions are lazy..."
While it is true that male lions can sleep for 20-21 hours per day... female lions sleep for around 15-18 hours. Lions spend most of their time sleeping, it isn't just a male only thing
So yeah, being a male Lion means that, if you survive childhood, you're kicked out. While kicked out, you have to fend for yourself, or find some kicked out bros (Literally, as a lot of bachalor prides are displaced brothers). Find another pack and steal it. Just to have it for 3-5 years, just to be kicked out. And in the end, die alone and starving. Basically, being a lion sucks, being male means your good years are all you got

It had even been fully animated, and even aired in the USA... on NBC.

The hubris of trying to frame the lives of wild animals into a feminism vs. misogyny narrative... How far up your own ass do you have to be? "Lionesses do all the hunting because of misogyny!" Bro, things in nature are the way they are because it works; if it didn't, they'd die. That idea also conveniently ignores the fact that male bachelor lions have to hunt and fend for themselves once they're too old to stay with the pride.

    ...
So whenever you feel alone, just remember that those kings will always be there to guide you... and so will I."
The original Lion King hinted at Simba being part of a grand legacy, without having to be overly explicit about it. These words stick with him, even years into his exile; despite seemingly being happy with Timon and Pumba, Simba is constantly hampered by the guilt of (seemingly) getting his father killed, as well as disgracing the proud legacy of kings that came before him. But in this, what does he have to look back on? Mufasa's dad is apparently some hobo nobody that dies offscreen, and his stepdad is a useless douche who tries to kill him.
Also, I swear that some of the CGI in these scenes looks like it came straight from The Wild, and an extra cookie for you if you actually remember that film.

Voting today is done via your wallet and attention (ie, time). This movie is an absolute travesty of the 1994 original. It alienates 50% of its clientele (males) because it has an obvious agenda, and is definitely a bad movie for the wrong reasons of the term. It's not a bad movie such as "Sharknado" could be considered, it's a bad movie in an ideological and cultural way, and definitely should make Disney lose money, just like every remake/spinoff they have made for the last decade.

    • @alexfoolio
      @alexfoolio 10 дней назад

@ mm that’s fair. I’ll admit that I don’t always notice these agendas, but I’ve also never paid attention to it. I’ve never thought to dig deeper than the surface. I just watch the movie and enjoy it.
And this movie, like their many other remakes, are aimed at kids rather than adults. Ofc you can argue that that makes it worse as kids are easily influenced. But I get ya. I did watch this movie in cinemas coz I was curious, but I skipped the 2019 lion king remake fully.

Biggest problem with Mufasa is that the character didnt need a backstory about him getting lost. That’s still copying the formula of Simbas story. Correct me if I’m wrong but Mufasa acted like he was raised from birth to be royal. He was more the traditional king.
If they wanted to make a Mufasa origin movie it would’ve made so much more sense to have him and scar be actual brothers and show the life of him growing up and being taught the ways of being a king from his father and showing scar get more salty.
This is the problem with Disney they try to make “original” content now but only recycle ideas

@@tjmarxHow did Sonic 3 have a loose plot? That's complete bullshit lol. The movie told a clear and consistent story about how and how not to deal with loss. I'm generally confused, what was loose about it? Anyone who was actually paying attention would understand the movie. It has a straightforward plot that dove into somewhat dark subjects for kids whilst also paying respect to its fans. Clearly you didn't pay attention or you're just a Disney fanboy
