He is more of a development guy than a head coach. He definitely is highly respected. They should bring someone in like coach Budenholzer and run a REAL offensive system to help their role players more. Put JJ as an asst to appease LeBron since we know if he opts in he wants his guy in place. Coach Bud should run more of the offense that they ran in Atlanta. LeBron could still do a lot of primary ballhandling, but it won't be the watch LeBron and then react show. All of LeBron's teams suffer because his style takes his teammates out of sync and when he isn't on the floor there isn't a system to rely on. At the very least, let the secondary ball handlers run the system when lebron is on the bench.

They gave the defending champs a tough game all 5 games so he did some things right. But I don't know if losing those leads is more about the coaching aspect or needing another piece or two.
One thing I questioned was in game 5 when Lakers were up about eight in the third and Denver hit a couple shots, I was like he should call a timeout. Even the announcers said it. He waited until Denver went up to call one. Seeing their pattern was outscoring the Lakers in the 3rd, I felt he should have tried to stop that run. But on the outside looking in, it seemed they may have got it right one more year with him.

The problem with Darvin Ham is how he handled his post-games interviews. He didn't take any blame or accountability. I think that's what led to this decision, not just their performance or record. You need a leader who takes 100% responsibility even if it's not his fault.

Man all these clowns need to shut up. From Draymond, to Reggie Miller, to Stephen A. I had to watch almost every Lakers game this season and deal with his non-existent coaching. Horrible lineups, no ability to make in-game adjustments, can't design a play to save his life, has pre-determined subs, has no ability to sense momentum shifts to call a timeout, unable to utilise the role players efficiently and so many other reasons. Almost every loss this season can be attributed to at least two of those factors. Are you telling me everything I saw was a hallucination or something? Or that I existed in a different reality? These guys don't watch any Lakers games whatsoever and instead of addressing the issue with Ham, they play the whataboutism card. Stop insulting us fans that have put up with watching this team for 82 games. The players are definitely accountable to some degree, but Ham is still BY FARRRRRRRRRRRRR the #1 problem. Honestly all Lakers needed was a good coach and a centre and I truly believe they would have taken Nuggets to 7 games.

When the team leads most games then blows leads, that’s all in the players? How do you let a guy beat you with a game winner AFTER A TIMEOUT the exact same way he beat you 3 games earlier? Sounds like the coach’s problem to me.

@@mallurypollard7815 I second this and will add on his terrible 3 guard lineups, forcing the ball to DLo, and waiting until we're losing to call timeouts when the other team goes on a run. We should have been a higher seed tbh but threw away easy wins

@@unholydonut Dlo, reeves, Lerbron, AD and Hayes. We need AD in 4 and not in Center. Sucks that we do not have actual Center who can handle Jokic physicality. Last time I saw Dwight doing it for us when we won championship.

Actually Ham didn’t stick with the same lineup and that was one of his many mistakes. He kept benching Reaves and Rui for Cam Reddish and Taurean Prince, so they weren’t able to build on their chemistry from last year.

@@bluetech7128 You just echo what I said! Without a true center on the team, doesn't matter what line up Lakers play! Teams, not just Lakers need a true center to deal with Jokic.

When you lose by 2pts in a road elimination game against the defending NBA Champions, especially after shooting 18/27 from the free throw line, some need to reconsider the whole picture when it comes to playoff futility.
It is absolutely unacceptable for a collective team to shoot 66.7% from the free throw line in the playoffs.

    • @surfarijeff7884

Especially when you get 27 freaking free throws! Which is about 20 more FTs than the opposing team averages against them.
