- Scottie Scheffler answers questions from reporters after his second round at the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla where he shot 5-under after being arrested earlier in the morning. Scheffler called the situation a “huge misunderstanding” and details how he prepared to play as well as how long it took him to calm down from a “chaotic situation.”

The PGA needs to step up and apologize. If you have a tournament and someone gets run over and you fail to alert players and customers (your customers!), this is on YOU. Youre of course being silent because that is your right, but its unethical. Im still confused why a shuttle bus was traveling at 5 am????
@@davisanderson4274 what happened to comply with any order, signal, or direction given by a police officer? Doesn’t matter what your status is, a celebrity or a regular citizen you have to listen. Shuttle buses travel all the time at anytime of the day or night because events are happening. I have a marathon to run tomorrow and we have to catch h a shuttle bus. Guess what time the shuttle bus starts running? 4:30am
I have watched golf for nearly 60 years. The great thing about golf is there is always something that happens where you say, wow, I have never seen that.

How is it possible to trespass at your own house? That makes no sense and it makes it seem like the police are unqualified in what they do.

If someone wanted to be a criminal, they should apply to be a police officer since law enforcement officials are given the flexibility and freedom to do whatever they want and to get away with it as well since police have total immunity from the law.

Absolutely a joke to be charged with felony assault cause some officer grabbed the handle of a moving car and it dragged him down. That’s an embarrassing look on the department. No two ways around it.

In the video I never saw the word “police” on any car or officer. Their hiviz jackets didn’t have black police lettering and completely covered their uniforms.
The cars they were in were pure white with no police identification.

Y’all- I have cut Scottie’s hair since he was 10 years old. AND EVERYTHING Scottie presents about himself, is 100% real. It is not an act - the down-to-earth, regular guy you see in interviews, that's genuinely who he is. He doesn't need or really want any special treatment nor does he want those special favors. He's just a decent guy. For real. He’s like the friendly neighbor who's always willing to lend a hand when you need it. He's always thinking about other people, never expects anything in return. Polite, sincere, and quick with a kind word. If you were in a tough spot, Scottie would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. That's just how he is. Scottie’s dad Scott , is the same way. When they went to Scotties golf tournaments as a kid, instead of getting hotel rooms, they'd just sleep in the car and pack some sandwiches. Probably a nice father-son bonding thing, but I got the message that Scott was trying to show Scottie to live with the simple things in life. I can honestly vouch that his appreciation for his fans is 100% real. Scottie is just a caring, kind-hearted, compassionate young man. Words can't fully describe what a solid character he really has. Scottie is such a stand-up guy. He’s the best.

I once was directed by the Police during a traffic accident. The officer waved me through, then screamed at me to pull over and then gave me a ticket. The ticket was dismissed in court.

This young man's class and composure are amazing.
Two dark nights ago I came upon a wreck on a two lane road where officers were on the scene. As I approached, I had already seen several cars in my lane pass by the wreck. I was driving very slowly and prepared to stop, but only saw an official on the side of the road by my lane, so I moved slowly toward the center to go around him. Suddenly, he stepped out in front of me with his hand up. I was able to stop easily, because I'd been driving slowly, but the officer clearly didn't know how to use his light direct traffic, and I couldn't see his hand up in the darkness until he stepped in front of me.
He didn't yell at me or do anything, but I wondered how easily it could have been misinterpreted or escalated when I was trying my hardest to do the right thing.

While driving on the wrong side of the road he dragged a police officer causing the officer to be injured. Clearly Mr Scheffler was using his driver against the officer as his putter would have inflicted minimal injuries.
His Caddy was reported saying "it's 180 yards to the next police officer. I wood (sic) suggest you take a 7 iron to hit your target" or a Toyota Prius.
Shame on police officer and city which obviously exaggerated the charges. City got so much revenue from this tournament and even that idiot officer’s yearly pay. Nowhere in any video Scotty is seen resisting or assaulting so called officer. Total shame to humiliate such a decent guy 😡😡😡

It takes a special kind of human to be able to go out and shoot 5 under par after what happened to him. There are a lot of golfers out there that have the same abilities as golfers like Scheffler, but there are not that many that have the mind control of these guys on the PGA tour. In a lot of cases, that is what sets these guys apart from other golfers like them.
Scottie Scheffler is such a classy guy. Complementing the Police Department was consistent with his incredible character.
Every. Single. Person that makes up this great game called golf is the absolute best. Seriously. Met some of the coolest people in my life playing golf. Scottie is that dude. Handled it like a G. My prayers go out for the mills family in their time of loss.

There were two agencies directing traffic, One letting all PGA personnel through and One only focused on the accident. Who is at fault? They are both at fault for not communicating with each other. Scottie will get a slap on the wrist and the Cop that manhandled Scottie will stay on night shift for ever.
