Great details review sir!
I bought the M10 a few weeks ago and I must say I'm very impressed by this new one-box audio solution, the Bluesound os is great and available on multiple platforms (Mac OS, iOS, Android...) But be ready to spend some $$ on quality speakers, what you select will be key in the final sound of the system! I tried the LS50, all "Ok" but not great with the M10...I then bought a used pair of high-end Revel Performa M22 (retailed for 3K when new), that turned out to be a perfect match! So the conclusion of all my little speaker swapping experiment is that if you connect to the M10 very high quality speakers and you will be rewarded with GREAT sounds!
Did you by any chance try the M10 with Raidho speakers?
Love to hear that! I haven’t got my NAD M10 yet but I’m trading in my Revel M16 to Arendal 1723 S bookshelves! I can’t wait to fire it up
Hi, Very good review. It is only one thing I wonder about. Can you use Dirac live on the subs too? (2+1 or 2+2) I can't find any information about it. I want to buy NAD c658 or Minidsp shd. I'm not sure which to buy
As far as I know DIRAC does use the sub-outs as one output. I think that's the same with the MiniDSP..
Very comprehensive review. Thank you. Based on your review, I will likely purchase to replace my NAD 765 home theater.
👍🏼
Even though I bought the parasound integrated hint 6 it sounds wonderful it doesn't have nearly the feature set of this unit no streaming of any kind I love this unit oh well interesting times fantastic options available
Another great video thanks. So NAD M10 Vs naim atom what do you think is best?
Yeah I'm also curious how do you compare this with Naim Uniti Atom that you previously reviewed. Cheers!
This is the question on everyone's lips
I tested the Atom and M10. Design wise I like Naim more, except the VU meters of Nad that are gorgeous. Despite being only 40wpc I found Atom to be more punchy and with somehow a better headroom. Also I love the Atom's remote and just hate Nad doesn't supply one; frustrating to always open the phone to adjust volume (if I will buy it definitely will add a custom remote). Sound wise Naim is more agresive in your face presentation with a good sense of rhythm and pace. M10 is more transparent, mellow and detailed. Also bluOS it s better for me and more intuitive. And offcourse the Dirac is a huge bonus if, like me, have dual subs! And if they will add a second power in this range to make it dual mono and a remote, will be the perfect product.
Bedankt Hans. Helder verhaal. Kan het scherm ook uit? Dat zou fijn zijn bij het kijken van films.
Volgens mij niet, maar ik kan het nu niet meer checken want de M10 is alweer terug naar de importeur.
I've watched a couple of product review videos and have concluded that you take up the thing in such a way that it seems like some documentary. Very dedicated work, really appreciable.
🙏🏽
I bought the M10 used for the same price as the C658 based on your recommendation, thanks I couldn't be happier.
Enjoy it
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel I love the M10 on my TV and now a Node in my listening room Parasound A23 and P3 preamp. I plan on getting more Nodes for whole house audio.
Why is there no infrared remote control for basic tasks like 'muting', 'volume+-' , 'change source' .
Using an App just for basic things like this, is Overkill for me as a user. I don't have mobiles or tabletts around me all the time
just for this. Using the App while streaming, browsing my library, playlists etc makes sense of course but again, not for the basic
task as mentioned.
I don't design the equipment, I merely review them. So I really can't tell.
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
You are right, however what is your line of thinking about this ?
Hi,,you can use the BLUESOUND RC1 remote with it
Fantastic review, what’s your thoughts between this the Nad M10 and the Naim Unity Atom you reviewed?
Which do you prefer think sounds best and where do you think each exists in either your main setup or 2nd setup? Thank you in advance. Steve
My views can be found in my reviews. I can’t say what will be the best choice for you.
I'd love to see you try out the NAD C 658 and/or MiniDSP SHD connected to a Crown XLS 1502 Drivecore. It would be interesting to compare these setups to the NAD M10.
The M10 often has issues with the display
Looking for a high end streamer/amplifier I narrowed it down to NAD M10 and Naim Uniti Atom. How do they compare? Power output looks a major difference but do you notice this in a small living room?
I have described both in my reviews. Watch them and you might find your answer. They are different, offer different features and sound different.
I swear, each one of Hans's reviews is like a mini training course (in a good way). You couldn't wish for a more thorough review.
Fantastic content, with no technical stone left un-turned. Thank you.
My pleasure
Thanks Hans. Was waiting for this and not surprised. It is a NAD topper specially because it includes Dirac. I’m the owner of a NAD C 658 including Dirac also.
I really enjoy Pure Music playback on my MBP via USB/Jitterbug into my DAC...
Hi Hans, I was considering getting a Cambridge Audio combination of CXA81 and CXN V2 until I have found the M10 with the advantage of offering Dirac built-in. With the Cambridge Audio setup I would have to add either a miniDSP SHD (or 2x miniDSP DDRC-24) to get Dirac as well and to be able to hook up an additional CD-Player like the CXC and a P3 turntable.Your thoughts on which way to go?
Inform yourself and see what fits best in your situation. I can't judge that.
Dear Hans
What a wonderful review, the only one to show us DIRAC. Would it work with ceiling speakers?
Many thanks
Sure
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel ok! Thanks Hans 🙏 That piece of advice has made my imminent choice of M10 or Naim Atom a little more difficult! Which did you enjoy listening to more?
Dear Mr. Hans
Can you please tell what IR commands can the unit learn ? vol up and down ? stop play function ?
Thank you
Vasco Vaz
Volume, transport functions, inputs and presets. Perhaps even more, but I can't remember.
Excellent review, do you know if this devices can play Native DSD (DSF or DFF) archives ? if so, does it make native or first converts DSD to PCM ?
It supports converted DSD playback via the BluOS desktop app only. Since most DSD recordings are produced cq edited in DXD (353.6 kHz PCM) and the ESS DAC does 353.6 kHz, the sound quality is fine.
Can this be hardware be controlled directly in the Tidal app and not the bluOS?
No
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel Since it has BluOS, it likely can use the newly released Tidal connect. I can confirm that it works for my node 2i and Pulse 2 at least. Since it's new, Tidal Connect is not quite perfect yet, but I like using Tidal for browsing over the BluOS app.
Is Dirac able to combat comb filtering due to hard surfaces at the early refection points?
Sorry but it is impossible to say just like that.
Great review !
Excellent. Thank you!
Does this have, or do you know if it WILL have, Google Play Music capability and/or Google Home voice control?
It has not. But you could add a Chromecast to it. nIf you're quick, even a Chromecast Audio. They are still for sale on line.
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel That's what I did and it works very well. The newly implemented AirPlay 2 also works very well. This is superb 'All in One' solution. I would like them to offer a Mono Bloc power amp to up the power output a little.
Another great review Hans. A lot of work added because of the room correction stuff which is fascinating. I'm struggling to understand all this and how it might affect my setups. I currently have (in my setup #1) an SOtM sMS-200 Ultra Neo feeding a Chord Qutest DAC and then a Rega Brio-r amp and B&W 685 S2 speakers. The result is already sublime, but I worry I'm missing a trick because I'm not compensating for the room dynamics. I'm lucky in that we have two living rooms and I can choose to place my speakers anywhere I like which might help. What an amazing time this is! When I look at the things you were reviewing 3 or 4 years ago, we are so spoiled for choice!
Yes, we surely are.
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel I think it's important to note that DIRAC and other digital room corrections are not a panacea, but they can help, depending on your set-up. They're especially useful with room modes (bass frequencies). To be honest though, things like sound-staging are better managed by placement. Try the demo before you buy.
I understand Dirac can also work as a software only solution
Does this have a home theater bypass so that I can use it with my AV receiver?
no
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel Is this something that might be possible to add in a firmware update? Has NAD said anything about this? I can't find anything online except a few questions on forums that have gone unanswered.
Lovely .
Hi Hans, Just found out the existence of your channel and wacht a couple of your videos. Superb! You both tested the NAD m10 and the c368 with blue os. The delta in price is around 1500 euro. Regarding the sound quality is there any difference between them? (In my humble opinion they have a similar aproach regarding the d class amplifier architecture .)
Please watch the videos and read the comments.
Does it support WiFi?
Yes, as I said in the video
Thank you Hans! This or the Naim Atom?
I have the M10 and I had a chance to listen to the Naim at a dealer, the NAD OS (blueOS) is WAY better than the Naim, the Naim as a more "distinguished", upscale sound.
@@AlexandreDiLolli Alex thanks for this and your other comment RE: pairing with the Revel speakers. Very helpful to hear. Here's the thing, I'm still confused. I just got a pair of Sonus Faber speakers, and listen to lots of kinds of music, but am not looking for a lot of high volume rock'n roll speaker. Jazz, Electronic, New Folk, etc. So, how is "distinguished" not desirable? I mean, is the NAD punchier, more forward, and the Naim more (or should we say too much) reserved and subtle? I have a decent Hafler 9300 amplifier, and trying to decide to ditch it for one of these "all in one" approaches, or just add a good streamer / pre.
@@peterf1 Hi Peter, I think the M10 is a better value proposition today, it's a more recent product than the NAIM it has a smooth treble (you can listen to the NAD for long listening session with any fatigue) and punchy low end (Naim lack a little bit of that low-end punchiness but has a little more "meat to the bone" sound), as mentioned the BluOS is far superior to the Naim and I found the M10 design better. Also, it is worth mentioning that lots of Atom owners have complained of erratic sound coming from the Naim (one day great, other days "garbage" sound).
I, on the other hand, have very happy with the M10, I even found a way to use my Samsung TV remote to control the sound of the M10 via the HDMI ARC (The M10 doesn't come with a remote). I hope this helps.
@@AlexandreDiLolli Once again, very helpful information. Much appreciated. Peter
Did you check if it can play tidal mqa 24/192 directly by itself?
Normally, streamers that support mqa do it via usb, so you must use a computer. If the M10 does, than that’s great.
Yes it does 24/192 directly, like all BluOS devices.
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel thank you for the clarification, that’s very good...
Can this be hardware be controlled directly in the Tidal app and not the bluOS?
Kind of.. you can play Tidal from within the Bluesound app.
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel :( this is disappointing seeing how Sonos equipment simply works without needing a single app. How do Hifi engineers skip this requirement? Or am I missing a business strategy interest? Do any upper end 1k + dacs on the market do this?
Just noting the lack of reference to the lack of a USB input. John Dario does the same in his review. I was surprised by both, the lack of the input and the fact that it is not pointed out or explained.....
Why would you want a usb input?
The Hans Beekhuyzen Channel external hard drive ? If your internet’s not working
You can add a USB stick or drive on the back.
Hi Hans,
To connect a windows laptop where a lot of playback software is installed like JRiver, audirvana+, roon, JPlay etc. and also my own music library on the SSD hard disc.
Thanks for considering this.

Thanks Hans. Is the new Audiolab 6000N streamer on your to do list ?
not yet...
Thanks for the great video! For the price concious consumer, how does this product compare to buying a similar quality integrated amp and streamer separately? Also a pedantics question: why isn't this device called a 'receiver' rather than just an 'amplifier'?
I can’t answer your first question. It’s not called a receiver since it hasn’t an fm and/or am tuner. It uses internet radio for that and that’s called streaming.
2 subwoofer outputs, are those outputs in low end stereo or are both mono ?
They send both the same mono LF sound.
is there a line output to drive a external headphone amp?
ah ok, now I found the RCA out on the backplate
Where is the price? Is there any link for purchase out there?
my videos are watched in 168 countries so it is hard to provide this information for all of my viewers. But if you Google "NAD M10 price" you will find the info for your country/area.
