Yup burned out two fans because of the fan being obscured. Here in the PNW we have rain that sits on top of the fabric and smothers the fan completely. My fix: I wire tie cheap plastic cups to the inlet. Use a soldering iron to poke 50-60 holes and trim out the bottom. No matter how it falls I get 100% inflation. I like your method too. THANKS FOR POSTING your fix!!
Thanks for the advice and I was surprised there weren’t other videos on this too of course burned out one of mine knowing this was a problem and sometimes you get lucky for a week or two but eventually it burned up. thanks again for the advice.
For the Minnie and Mickey inflation problem, you can install a bigger fan. I've had to upsize the fan on several of my inflatables -- especially ones with a lot of details (which equals more seams to leak). You can also brush tent seam sealer on all the seams to help make them more airtight
It IS a big problem. I just lost a Halloween inflatable to this very issue. It is amazing I haven't lost more. Thanks for the prevention method. I will try it. I just wish I knew how to replace the fan inside the inflatable whose fan got ruined.

Thank you you saved a 1990's blowup
Great video this is so true. Great advice. Thanks
Quick fix ... Good work. Can we get an updated video later showing how it all looks at night?
There has to be a more practical , logical and cheaper solution
