@@tonyreyes6610the problem with ous has never been defense it always been offense and rebounding he shown improvement but it hard to judge since all that was in the gleague
Tbh I think they need a bigger forward or a good 5 instead of another lengthy, lanky wing. If there’s an available player who’s a similar archetype to an Aaron Gordon or PJ Washington, they should pursue them, I just don’t know the league wide availability of such players.
PJ gonna be 26 this summer and is not locked down for long they may struggle to keep him but Green and Lively are going to be good cheap options for them the next few seasons. They have their own #1 picks next for 25 and 26 so if they can keep Kyrie happy it could be a nice run for them
I think the Thunder were looking at this year more as a let’s get some playoff experience for these guys kind of year. They probably did reach out for Lauri or Mikal but with the asking prices those two had, I’m not surprised they didn’t make a move. Hayward is very clearly going to be resigned to use as future salary matching in a trade. The only other move I really see in the offseason is pursuing Nic Claxton. I don’t think they want a star, they have 1 already 2 who are about to become stars. They need really solid roleplayers or borderline stars like Lauri, Mikal, or Claxton. At the end of the day, they only need 3 things. Rebounding, shot creation, and size. If they get 1-2 covered in a free agent signing, they can push Hayward, Giddey, and their truckload of picks into getting whatever they’re missing and that doesn’t necessarily have to be a big name. I think the whole league should’ve learned the mistakes of past teams in that sense by now, most especially both LA teams. Star power isn’t nearly as good as just having a solid team that meshes well.
Jakob poeltl fits this team perfect. I was saying it months ago, I will say it again. Now. Ousman deing, salary filler + #12 pick this year for yak + Chris bouchier. He keeps Chet fresh. Can absorb the hits down low. Then in crunch time you can go with Chet at the 5 if you are worried about yak free throws. It’s a perfect piece for okc. And he doesn’t say anything. He’s quiet and plays his part
The issue with Giddey is that he is still one of their best playmakers. Both J-Dub and SGA are good passers, but you see the difference in how Giddey can find people, he is clearly a level above them in that department. It doesn't work as well, because of his scoring being inconsistant, but it is stuff that you cannot teach. I think they should be able to teach him good shotmechanics and being a better defender, having so many young guys on the the team that developed both of these things. This can build his confidence and if he can improve enough, he would still be the valuable starting level player they saw in him. He is a bit behind some of the other guys in his development, but considering he is 21, he can and should grow rapidly if given the right support structure. It litteraly costs OKC nothing to let him develop as a bench option and give him another year or 2.
He looked scared to even take a shot last game.Horrible on defense.Plus that shit off the court is going to follow him /stay with him for a while. He has to be moved unfortunately
@@drazzzpoppp5022 Both that stuff outside of the court and the lack of confidence in his shot, is what kept him from being a better player. We see some resilience in him at times though, it is not like he doesn't work hard, it is his mindset that needs to grow before he can grow. I'd prefer to keep him since his value is probably lower than what he could potentially turn into on the OKC roster.
Giddy is not a bad player and he needs the ball in his hands to be productive. He would fit into Orlando´s style and roster with his young age and length.
The future is bright! If they get a big PF they’ll be great. Someone like Mobley next to Chet would be awesome. And maybe a PG upgrade if Giddey does not improve.
Really like the markkanen idea myself, as an okc fan. Someone who has improved defensively. Has one year left on his deal I think and I think giddey, Dieng, 12, and maybe 3 future picks for a guy with one year left is solid value. Then you have SGA, Dort, JDub, Markkanen, Chet, with Joe, Wiggins, Wallace, and Williams off the bench.
Not a Thunder fan but what I would tell Presti is simple. You once had KD Russ and Harden and thought you would dominate for the next decade. So do not sit around with all those picks.
As a Nets fan I don’t blame him. Between the dumb covid rules and the front office being complete numb nuts it was never gonna work out. I wish him the best tho being he is my favorite player.
A lot of people are wanting OKC to trade for Lauri without considering that OKC already have 3 great offensive options, they need a better connecting piece like Aaron Gordon/Jerami Grant, not another offensive option, considering everything Grant would be nice because he can be a 3 and D but also a solid offensive option if one of the 3 best in OKC are struggling in a game
We had Grant a few years back and he was so clutch for us when the roster was lookin a little lackluster post-KD. I liked him in blue a lot but he wanted a bigger contract and he got it. I think he’s too expensive for what he gives you but yeah someone with his talent and skill would be great next year
On defense he’s perfect fit like he would for every team but idk how spacing works with Shai being very ball dominant and having Draymond spot up. Or maybe he could be use as a roll man
Funny enough that’s kinda what they need, maybe not current Green but Green from a few years ago when he was doing it all (rebounds, play creation, defense, and decent space creating). But any team would love a player like that lmao. They’ll probably ride it out, see if Giddey could work on his 3 in the summer and be that guy for them.
They have 13 tradable firsts and 20 2nds over the next 7 years. They can also add 3 first round pick swaps to that package. They could literally trade for nearly ANY player they choose, maybe even 2 or 3.
Giddy will have to run a offense. He had a lot of triple doubles when sga was out. IDK where he could go and the thunder get something useful back. But he could definitely be a great true point guard with rebounding
As okc fan, most fans need to lower their expectations for what okc will do in the off season. At the deadline I was telling fans that okc was not going to be do anything big then they was shocked when I was right same with the draft every year people keep Mocking okc to draft a traditional big and I keep saying they won’t and I keep being right Okc mostly likely going to use their pick and then extend joe and Giddey and maybe make a small trade but nothing major that the most realistic option, also not saying okc would never go for a traditional big but I think it very unlikely due to what they look for in players and their entire sachem in base on chet being the 5 which what okc wants
Giddey and maybe another player to match salary for Kuzma. Giddey could be the PG that the Wizards need and Kuzma can be that 4th option that could go for 20-25 ppg some nights for them.
I remember OKC had Durant, Westbrook, Harden, Jackson, Adams, Ibaka, and couldn't keep them together it been interesting if they can keep this core together they played 10 guys in that series against Dallas they very deep lot of talent there.
Top tier target- Lauri or Jarrett Allen Second tier - Nick Claxton, Clint Capela, Jonas Valenciunis (so?), Steven Adams Draft the best player available but if a tie, draft another big on top of trading for one
I definitely think OKC could keep Giddey, he has a lot of potential considering he has been playing a new position every year of his career, if he can develop his 3 game, OKC just needs a better bench and another big along side Chet
Solid video. You hit a lot of great points. Idk if you’ve watched any of Sam Presti’s interviews before, but he’s been on record of saying this team is ahead of schedule and that they aren’t going to accelerate this thing, which is why I think they brought Hayward in at the deadline. A lot of outside people don’t realize that he made it very clear he wanted to evaluate this specific group before making any crazy moves. I think it’s inevitable that Giddey is gone this off-season. Like you said, I think there is a great chance they roll this squad out again next year, plus whoever they get in the draft (hopefully Cody Williams). I don’t think Tobias is the answer for this squad, but there is no way to predict what Presti might do to address the front court situation. Gonna be interesting to see with all of the options he has!
No they don't... We need PG who can shoot from 3. We already have plenty of "20% from 3" players. And none of them beat their wife. Edit : he did not beat his wife, he had trouble regarding a minor, without further "complication" (sorry don't have the english word) from the police
I'd like this move for the Spurs. Add to the Wemby/Chet SA/OKC rivalry. Add a guy with that Manu passing ability. Take advantage of the thunder making a lateral shake up kinda dump.
I'm fine with OKC not making a move at the deadline anyway. It's easy to forget that the trade deadline held no value. The Bulls didn't even have a high asking price for Zach Lavine, and they STILL couldn't move him. NY getting Anunoby and Dallas getting two bigs were the only significant moves (at the time and in hindsight.) You could argue keeping Giddey and developing him in a 6th man role would work, but he's probably a pretty decent trade piece that could bring in some help (i.e. another legit big to pair with Chet.)
Mann would not have help at all the reason they traded him was because he wasn’t that good in the minutes he played plus in order for him to be effective he needs the ball similar to giddey just because he played well in Charlotte doesn’t mean he would have done the same in okc playing for a playoff team and a lottery team is different
They could consider using Giddey a bit more as how Dyson Daniels is used offensively, just handle the ball well, make great passes and use the threat of scoring close to the basket with floaters, layups and lob passes. If he can develop defensively and slowly improve his shot, he can still be providing a decent part of the offense.
I think they're ahead of schedule by like a year maybe 2. They probably wanted to use a lot of those picks and find the gems, but now I think they're gonna package some to bring in help where they think they need it. SGA popping and Chet so good straight away are what's gonna force them to move some picks to bolster their bench and add to the starters.
Thunder fan here. Sam has said his plan has been to see what the current team could do in the playoffs. Find strengths and weaknesses simultaneously. Obviously size is an issue. It was Chet’s first year playing. I think moves will be made just don’t which ones.
Is the small ball finally going to fall out. Not every team has steph curry. But yeah they need a bigger four no doubt. Hopefully the team will mesh with whoever they bring in to replace dort.
The lineup of athletic guards and wings is fun, but when we’re running JDub, who is essentially a combo guard, at power forward, the lack of rebounding and size was eventually gonna catch up to us
What a magical season! I think that this season was still a, let's see what we got, no expectations season. Hence the no major moves. Also Presti is probably the best GM in the league and has learned from his mistakes in the past. Making major moves out of desperation has not paid off. I think they'll keep this core together and add 1 vet piece in the offseason. Probably a big man. Would love to see a young piece like Jonathon Isaac as well. I don't think they'll trade Giddey. He's part of the original young core. This team is special partly because of their closeness, once you trade a piece like that you really risk losing that magic. He was an important piece last year when he was a point of attack initiator, maybe Mark can find that strategy again. If they do trade him I'd love to see him go to someone like Washington or San Antonio. At the end of the day they just lacked the experience in the playoffs and now they have it.
Isaiah Hartenstein is a free agent and only made $9.2 million this season. He just turned 26 years old. OKC has so much cap space they've got to get a guy like Hartenstein while so many players are on rookie contracts. Hartenstein played 75 regular season games last season and 82 the season before.
Wild as it sounds I think cp3 would fit OKC pretty well. Gives them someone other than SGA to bring the up, a solid guard defender, veteran presence, saves cap space, can hit wide open shots…he’s a very good fit.
I lowkey think Isaiah Stewart is a great fit for them. Brings toughness, physicality, and rebounding while still keeping the fast paced 5-out offense with Chet at the 5. I also think Jdub is better suited at the 3
I don't think it's complicated, my bro. They're all very young and they just had their best year. There Future is bright my dude And it's only the beginning
Top players to put the OKC over the top: 1. Kevin Durant. Dependable veteran, Chris Paul like trade, while not the “mentor” type if OKC’s core absorb even a fraction of his skill it’s worth it. 2. Alperen Sengun. Might cost more picks than they’re willing to let go of but a young 5 that can create both makes them bigger and alleviates their point guard problem. I genuinely don’t think the NBA is ready for a Chet-Alpy 2 man game. They’d still need a PG. 3. Lauri Markonnen. Crazy athletic, high IQ player whose play style already matches the Thunder. He could be to Jalen Williams what Jaylen Brown is to Jayson Tatum.
i know they’re very young but last night’s lost just had me devastated. they could have very much made the conference finals. they exceeded regular season expectations for sure but by the postseason they had very high expectations which they sadly didnt meet. all they could do was beat a broken pelicans team. i know contending isn’t easy especially when you’re starting. which is why i think they definitely shouldn’t wait around and wait for development. they shouldn’t be impulsive but they need to be smart. this team is young and their front office can afford to make bold decisions. step 1: get giddey out
At the end of the day this year turned to "let's wait and see.". There was no reality where this team won the championship, so why would they take a risk by trading in the regular season? Sam Presti and the Thunder got exactly what they needed in these playoff games. A good look at real weaknesses, weaknesses that can only be revealed in the playoffs with a microscopic intensity.
I wish they would trade up in the draft to get Dalton Knecht. He would fit in really well with what they do. He is an incredible scorer and his defense is better than he gets credit for
I could see a lauri markanen trade happening , I think that may work and chet could stay at the 5 then , don't know how much it improves the defense bit certainly gives more height !
I. Hart would be great for them. I think they need a legit backup pg and then either an upgrade at pg, guard or wing(depending on how/where they see Shai and JDub - are they pg and sg, pg and sf, sg and sf, etc) and then a big. One good enough to start with Chet at the 4 or sit if they play small, as well as give Chet rest while JWill keeps improving.
Wow! There are very few fan bases that would love to have a team like that. Most important thing is they all got playoff Experience! Learned how hard it is to win the father you go. Something that you can't teach. I hope they don't do something drastic. I don't believe they will. Let it Ride!! Just add a couple of vets.
OKC needs to see what Brad Stevens did after taking over for Danny Ainge. Ainge did great at drafting a lot of young talent and stock piling draft picks but he was too hesitant to make win now moves and let go of picks. Stevens took over and got rid of the FRP and added Dwhite, Jrue HOliday, got Horford back, and traded for Porzingis.
Caruso for Giddy, is genius. Giddy got potential, but obviously other things going on. With Caruso, they can easily be top 3 defense in the league, especially if Chet grows and gets better.
Interesting for their future. Maybe Lauri for another scorer or if you want go big, get Jarett Allen or Clint Capela. I think 1-2 more impact role players and this team next season will be great 🙌👍
They have an excellent young core that they can build off of. They have to part ways with giddey and aquire 1 or 2 pure shooters, another wing and a true big man.
I've heard a lot of fans and analysts say that the Thunder need to get a big man and move Chet to the 4, I honestly don't see that working. Yes he can stretch the floor, but this series showed his inability to keep up with players on the perimeter and other teams will take advantage of that weakness
OKC needs 7-footer with strong frame (chet to fragile, jaylin too small). There are such players in the 24 draft. They can draft someone like that, or trade at the draft. Adding some picks.
As we know the policy there is to be close to the max salary limit in the future, so they will probably look for bargains in the trade market, meaning players with 3-4 years contract with low salary and high ceiling.
I want to see them take Ben Simmons and put him at pf/pf to cover the rebounding and playmaking need plus size. Would be such an interesting redemption arc option and potentially cheap trade that they can afford for the season
Hierachy is really important and their top 3 is good enough to win a title soon. Sga is their 1, chet and jdub 2+3, Wallace will be a key piece, also dort. Giddey is gone. You cant disrupt the roles of the top 3, instead of George I would try to get a guy like Mikal Bridges, an elite 3+d guy. More is not needed and would disrupt Jdub as a second creator. I dont see Allen/Capela as fits, having shooters like Chet and Jaylin at center is clearly by design, a rim runner would change the whole complexion of their offense which should be carefully evaluated.
I wonder if the answer to these problems is in the draft. Maybe the team thinks Sarr or Cooper Flagg or maybe even someone else the last piece they need
Why would they wanna get rid of Josh when he’s only getting better & you can resign him on a team friendly deal. If okc want to make a move the guy with realistic value would be Aaron Wiggins

Tbh I think they need a bigger forward or a good 5 instead of another lengthy, lanky wing. If there’s an available player who’s a similar archetype to an Aaron Gordon or PJ Washington, they should pursue them, I just don’t know the league wide availability of such players.
Looney to Giddey
That would be ideal because theoretical version of Dieng is almost exactly what they need
The future of the young Mavs team is great!
Rookie Livelly, Luka,PJ Washington,Josh Green,....under 25 years old
Still need some others to add to this team that are a bit more consistent as well. A Lauri markanaan could be interesting
Kudos to Luka playing through a million injuries and still being as good as he is. That is one tough cookie for sure.
@@MrE_ how would the mavs do that?

Raptors aren't taking that trade. #12 this year is like #32 next year.
You right about Giddeys strengths--dont tell anybody tho--i hate okc---from seattle sonic turf--i hope presti trades him for nothing
Don't they have to give giddy a contract soon
He needs to go to the spurs and go play pg okc not a fit for him
They should be aiming to add some size. Lauri and jarett allen would be good targets for them.
Giddy is not a bad player and he needs the ball in his hands to be productive. He would fit into Orlando´s style and roster with his young age and length.
The future is bright!
If they get a big PF they’ll be great. Someone like Mobley next to Chet would be awesome.
And maybe a PG upgrade if Giddey does not improve.
alex sarr would be perfect
Giddey isnt the point guard Shai is the main ball handler
Laurie Mark.....
Nah they need spacing. Lauri Markannen is the move. Spend some of those picks and get him
Cavs not giving up Mobley. And Mobley gonna move to the 5
Really like the markkanen idea myself, as an okc fan.
Watching this video makes me love Derrick jones jr even more
Not a Thunder fan but what I would tell Presti is simple. You once had KD Russ and Harden and thought you would dominate for the next decade. So do not sit around with all those picks.
Not the same but understand the comparison
Well what you're leaving out is Presti inexplicably traded Harden instead of amnestying Perkins lmfao
Yah it's only the same if he trades jdub away for klay Thompson
They also had ibaka the perfect defensive role player

As a Nets fan I don’t blame him. Between the dumb covid rules and the front office being complete numb nuts it was never gonna work out. I wish him the best tho being he is my favorite player.
We need another big desperately, even if it’s just Drummond or someone similar to that build
I think he’s too expensive for what he gives you but yeah someone with his talent and skill would be great next year
Am I wrong in saying that the Thunder could use someone with a Draymond Green skill set?
sure but only if the thunder can get another shot creator, giddey is useless off ball and idk if chet and jdub get that playmaking ability
On defense he’s perfect fit like he would for every team but idk how spacing works with Shai being very ball dominant and having Draymond spot up. Or maybe he could be use as a roll man
@@borinne7909 jdub and chet have pretty good playmaking.
Funny enough that’s kinda what they need, maybe not current Green but Green from a few years ago when he was doing it all (rebounds, play creation, defense, and decent space creating). But any team would love a player like that lmao. They’ll probably ride it out, see if Giddey could work on his 3 in the summer and be that guy for them.
yes... You are wrong.
They have 13 tradable firsts and 20 2nds over the next 7 years. They can also add 3 first round pick swaps to that package. They could literally trade for nearly ANY player they choose, maybe even 2 or 3.
OKC doesn't want a NAME veteran player to mess up their chemistry. A young BIG who can rebound, RUN and shoot decently would work!
Giddy will have to run a offense. He had a lot of triple doubles when sga was out. IDK where he could go and the thunder get something useful back. But he could definitely be a great true point guard with rebounding
To the pelicans
Some kind of Giddey/Kuzma swap makes a lot of sense to me
This is why you're not an NBA gm lmaooo
To be fair, Lively has Tyson Chandler as his personal trainer. Out hustled Chet the entire game.
As okc fan, most fans need to lower their expectations for what okc will do in the off season. At the deadline I was telling fans that okc was not going to be do anything big then they was shocked when I was right same with the draft every year people keep Mocking okc to draft a traditional big and I keep saying they won’t and I keep being right
Okc mostly likely going to use their pick and then extend joe and Giddey and maybe make a small trade but nothing major that the most realistic option, also not saying okc would never go for a traditional big but I think it very unlikely due to what they look for in players and their entire sachem in base on chet being the 5 which what okc wants
Pretty much yeah. I wouldn't be surprised to see them just draft more guards and get no bigs. I'll let Presti do his job! No suggestions here
Giddey and maybe another player to match salary for Kuzma.
Top tier target- Lauri or Jarrett Allen
Second tier - Nick Claxton, Clint Capela, Jonas Valenciunis (so?), Steven Adams
Draft the best player available but if a tie, draft another big on top of trading for one
I hope the Spurs like Giddey as a player to be their PG
No they don't... We need PG who can shoot from 3. We already have plenty of "20% from 3" players. And none of them beat their wife.
Edit : he did not beat his wife, he had trouble regarding a minor, without further "complication" (sorry don't have the english word) from the police
@@lecoolpotager6670 what's with the wife beating? The kid is 21. I don't think he's married. Maybe you got the wrong guy?
@@lecoolpotager6670giddey isn’t married and never beat up anyone. Tf you talking about😂
@@lecoolpotager6670 i think you mean that he's P Giddey, the Diddler of OKC
I'd like this move for the Spurs. Add to the Wemby/Chet SA/OKC rivalry. Add a guy with that Manu passing ability. Take advantage of the thunder making a lateral shake up kinda dump.
I'm fine with OKC not making a move at the deadline anyway. It's easy to forget that the trade deadline held no value. The Bulls didn't even have a high asking price for Zach Lavine, and they STILL couldn't move him. NY getting Anunoby and Dallas getting two bigs were the only significant moves (at the time and in hindsight.)
You could argue keeping Giddey and developing him in a 6th man role would work, but he's probably a pretty decent trade piece that could bring in some help (i.e. another legit big to pair with Chet.)
If the thunder could redo their trade with Charlotte, probably should have sent Giddey and kept Tre Mann.
Only reason why cuz he was small still a lost lost in both scenarios but mann would’ve performed better offensively no doubt
Mann would not have help at all the reason they traded him was because he wasn’t that good in the minutes he played plus in order for him to be effective he needs the ball similar to giddey just because he played well in Charlotte doesn’t mean he would have done the same in okc playing for a playoff team and a lottery team is different
If anything Josh’s size helps 😂
yall deadass delusional thinking tre mann getting minutes in the playoffs😭😭
They could consider using Giddey a bit more as how Dyson Daniels is used offensively, just handle the ball well, make great passes and use the threat of scoring close to the basket with floaters, layups and lob passes. If he can develop defensively and slowly improve his shot, he can still be providing a decent part of the offense.
Run it back another season. No matter what anyone says. They have to run it back
Lauri Markannen or Evan Mobley should be their target
Bro... all we need is a couple guys that can rebound and maybe shoot decent enough.
Thunder just need to not be stupid like the suns were. Keep their young core together and they will thrive for years to come.
I really don’t know what’s the plan for the thunder next year
Josh Giddey's season ended just in time for school to let out for the summer.
Sam Prestie need pursue Lauri Markannen this coming off-season 😤😤😤
Tobias Harris was a bizarre mention
Jarrett Allan makes sense, if garland is wanting a trade he would be a good pick up, young and can be a 2nd option on offense
Wild as it sounds I think cp3 would fit OKC pretty well. Gives them someone other than SGA to bring the up, a solid guard defender, veteran presence, saves cap space, can hit wide open shots…he’s a very good fit.
I was thinking the same exact thing
I lowkey think Isaiah Stewart is a great fit for them. Brings toughness, physicality, and rebounding while still keeping the fast paced 5-out offense with Chet at the 5. I also think Jdub is better suited at the 3
I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to see about Malik Monk or Eric Gordon this offseason to improve the scoring
I don't think it's complicated, my bro. They're all very young and they just had their best year. There Future is bright my dude And it's only the beginning
An interesting idea they could throw picks at Atlanta to pick sarr and that alleviates the salary cap problems with bringing in an established player.
Imagine if they get Paul George
they need lauri from the jazz. brings size rebounding next to chet, and brings shooting ass well. perfect fit
Top players to put the OKC over the top:
Would KD really go back?

Dalton knecht dropping to them in the draft would be a great fit.
The the Refs by their side. The future is always bright.
I think the a great move for them would be to get Lauri Markannen. Add a bit more size without making their spacing worse
If Jarrett Allen is on the market, he’d give them the needed size and toughness they need to get to the next level
does anybody knowwhat the thing in the key is on Dallas Homecourt?
All they need is a big man lol honestly that’s it. The hustle, the athleticism, and just the pure talent is already there.
Facts
As we know the policy there is to be close to the max salary limit in the future, so they will probably look for bargains in the trade market, meaning players with 3-4 years contract with low salary and high ceiling.
I mean, my expectations pre season were Western Conference Finals…they were so close…but then I watch basketball.
We gotta get you a Thesaurus, everything “weird”, “complicated”, “different” or “cooked”
I want to see them take Ben Simmons and put him at pf/pf to cover the rebounding and playmaking need plus size. Would be such an interesting redemption arc option and potentially cheap trade that they can afford for the season
OKC needs to not mess this up like they did with getting Perkins and losing harden
If D mitch doesn’t sign an extension J dub is probably the best potential trade asset out there
Hierachy is really important and their top 3 is good enough to win a title soon.
Finally someone with a brain who understands
Trading Giddey is the biggest move.
Thunder don’t need a superstar trade from what I can see they just need one more peice to push them over the edge
