This man, this song on the floating dance floor of the Dardanella on Wasaga Beach. It was a hundred years ago but I can still feel the music. It was magic. Thanks Colin.
Hey Colin James I saw you in concert for the first time in 1988-89. I dragged my older brother to your show in Niagara Falls, NY. This is my fav song reminds me of my first real love in the 80s I never got over him he will always be in my heart. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him so if your listening Scott B. "Otter" from Rochester, NY we met at Mickey Ratts City bar in buffalo watching the tweeds play. I hope you are well and think of me from time to time. I told you I would never forget you and I never will.
After 37 years, you think the heart would forget?,no. It`s a long time for someone to live rent free in my heart.I`ve often wondered what might have been...
Lol, your suggestion worked; this is pretty much officially viral. And I totally agree that this song rocks. I dare say that it may even define me as a person, having listened to it at a young impressionable age. Pretty sure I'm better off for it too, as opposed to having grown up listening to mumble rap, glamorizing drug use. Thanks, Colin James, owe you one!
Canada has some of the best musicians in the world, Americans hate to admit it, i know because living in the US, they hate to admit that anyone or anything is better than the US. they have a fucking complex, and need to get over it.
I saw him last night, he can flat out play and his vocals were perfect. Definitely more blues than when he started but he worked his old hits into his current style nicely
I remember being 5 years old running around the Windsor hotel watching him play on the stage as my dad ran the hotel. Every weekend we would be staying there over nights in the early 90’s. Collin James. Big Dave Mcclaine BB King. All the good jazz blues bands.
Stevie Ray, Thorogood, Colin James, and Jeff Healey were my introduction to the blues as a teenager back in '88-89. I honestly don't know where I'd be without them. They've helped me celebrate good times, make it through times of sadness, and been such a huge part of the soundtrack of my life. I've had the pleasure of meeting Colin after gigs on a couple of occasions, and talked blues with him--he's such a super cool cat!
Happy 60th!!! Yesterday in Whistler everyone sang along , exzeptionell me and my son, because wie did Not know your Great Music because wie are coming from Germany
When I heard this song for the first time, it was literally 5 years after my grandfather passed away. It holds special meaning to me because of that. Although it maybe about a past love, it helped me with coping with his passing.
I was in college in 1995/6 in Toronto, Canada, and the student council got him in for an afternoon informal concert. come and go as you wish. we stayed and watched the whole thing. Good times and great musician. Every time I hear these songs it takes me back to those fun days.
90's kid. One of my top picks from listening to my parents music! woohoo! Feel blessed to have been exposed to so much great 70's and 80's. Kids today are certainly missing out.
I remember the amazing feeling of being in the crowd for Colin James show during the 2010 winter olympics in Vancouver. This song was absolutely amazing live, especially in that environment.
This song (& video - esp. when Colin smiles at the girl in the car with him), ALWAYS fills my heart. When I need it, I come back to this song & it fills my heart & soul right up & it makes me feel good. Thank-you Colin James - even all these days later (as I was a teen when this was 1st released in Canada & I bought the CD for it right back then.)
If I could , I’d shout from the roof tops...”Love you so very much.”...Your music, your lyrics, your quality, and your spirit make my heart sing!!...Kisses and kudos!
Its been 30 + "Long Years" since I was at my 1st CJ concert at a Fair in Ontario! Since then! Calgary 2x VC Island etc etc. Heck when he came out on the Calgary Stampede Stage a Few years ago, somehow Ended up on the big screen singing along! Cannot WAIT for the Commodore Ballroom Performance! December 3rd :)
Saw him perform in 2008 at Markham RibFest (Ontario, Canada) and it was a great show, just for the couple of hundred people who were there that day. Great musician.
You're right, Mitch, on the out of control alarmists. It's more or less "stay tuned for the new flavor of the day," lol! Enjoying my eye of round roast beef while watching the video. Cheers!
Oddly enough, I heard this song on the radio in 2007. It hooked me instantly but I didn't get a chance to hear the artist name or song title. All I knew was that the chorus had "and I love you just the same" in it. But now I've finally found it, and after 5 long years I love this song just the same! :)
I want to dedicate these song to my opus largo family. Cause it’s been five long years today tgat we started our bike tour across Canada and I love her the same.
This song reminds me of a three year old, Oilers and Bruins playing, power outage in Boston Garden, seeding time, drought, and tent caterpillars lol. 1988 to a T.
You gotta like blues Rock fast way to go... What a classic for James and radio plays it all the time. And the video is very well made its concept of time.
Made it just in time to see him live in Vancouver last night. Been waiting almost 15 years to see him play. Colin and his band were PHENOMENAL! More than worth the wait. Still sounds great, band was super-tight and the crowd was right into it. Great show Colin and crew, thank you :)
How cool my brother had this CD back in the 2000’s and played this song especially over and over. I’m a musician and as I was writing a song the other night I came up with this chorus that went it’s been 10 long years and I love you just the same. I said to my wife is this from another song as when I write I can sing the song in my head but when I sang this it had a real solid flow so it made me think I could have heard this somewhere as it does happen and you never want to be called a plagiarist. She told me to look it up and when I did I found this song. Lucky I didn’t steal the chorus. Still it’s been 20 long years since anyone has heard this. 😂
He played the PNE in Vancouver in 1991 and the stands were nearly empty, which is really sad considering the concert was included in the PNE admission price. We had a great time with nearly front row seats, rocking it out with a great musician who's even better live than he is on tape. Colin had such great energy even though he was playing to a nearly empty concert bowl.
yeah people are really stupid but like you say this guy always rocks i saw him at the western fair in london and it rained and he kept playing and my buddy who i brought to see him for the first time is now a huge fan this guy has so many awesome hits and somehoiw they only play like one song on the radio its ridiculous
@@kurtpuzzles3941 He does an amazing cover of Van Morrison's "Into The Mystic" and its one of the top ten on my ipod playlist. It's worth checking out.
The old Canadian Tire store in GP was converted into a bar called the ‘Corral’. The place was empty, so I took a seat as close to the band as I could. I’ll never forget Colin shredding his guitar in front of me. Never met him but cheered and whistled for their fantastic performance that night to show my support.❤ Long live the Canadian Rockers 🇨🇦 Still have the stub too.😂
Less than a week and it will be 5 years since we lost our dad, lost our kid brother 2 weeks later, right on my birthday, a month later we lost our mom, what a horrible year that one was, don’t mean to put a negative twist on this song but I have been thinking of this song a lot this past year as I know we are closing in on 5 years.
Look at that Salad he's rockin' in this vid!! Must have went to Gowan's hairdresser, lol! Such a legendary artist and great tune....gets better with age!
This song is pretty timeless, at least so far, released in the 80s? couldve been the 90s, couldve been the 00s, couldve been 3 years ago. The sound has hardly any date stamp on it, truly good rock'n'roll tune.
Wow I didn't relize, listening to this and Just came back, colins sound is like a cross between the boss and SRV, two of my favorites. I'm a musician and hope to make music like that.
Special appreciation for been a big fans and thanks for your nice comment on my post and I want you to send me a direct message to my hangouts through my mail or WhatsApp through my mobile number that will be indicated below, also do make sure you add your name to the text so I can know you are the one texting me so I can reply you... As a matter of fact, Collin James and his band sometimes rent out my brother's recording studio. It's called Soundhouse, it's located just south of Downtown Vancouver.
This man, this song on the floating dance floor of the Dardanella on Wasaga Beach. It was a hundred years ago but I can still feel the music. It was magic. Thanks Colin.
Another Canadian jem. This song never got the recognition that it deserves.
Exactly ...Colin ROCKS !!!

This song is nostalgic for me, which came out in 1988 when I was entering college in Canada.
Unfortunately a Japanese man karaoked this song in Vancouver once and it's been fi long yee ever since.
One of my favourites. Absolutely love the saxophone in this :)
Jessica Smith Fuckin' play something, sax man!
I'm ashamed I no longer play the saxophone. I played in high school. We used to jam this all the time. My music teacher was dope.
I totally agree
Love being Canadian ❤️

Best saxaphone hook in any song, ever.
Just saw this guy live in Quesnel last week. He still puts on an awesome set love how he travels with 20 guitars . Just amazing.
