That baby cry was hilarious!! I am "rest" for the next couple months and I've done a couple of your videos. I love them!!! The pace, the colors, it's all so fun. And I would love to see more of your baby hahah. Thank you Emma for these videos!
These last 4 lovely abstract paintings are truly some of the best paintings you’ve done. I have watched each a few times. You made it all look so effortless with the primary supplies you used. I wish there was more from you doing abstracts, it’s the greatest aspect of watercolour. Thank you… moving on.
I ordered the paints from Amazon - tax, plus free shipping, and total was $10.83! They are wonderful! The colors are beautiful. Great find you made. Thanks so much!
Thanks so much for this, I’m a lock down (very late to water colours) learner, and this is the first thing I’ve painted that looks something like a tulip!
I have been trying to go more abstract and after seeing this video I just decided to go for it! And I love what I did and I am going to do more. Thanks Emma for this tutorial!💕
Marina Riquelme I FINALLY got mine! You’ll never be the same....you think you love your own child and then it goes to the next level with your grandson. WOW! Good luck to you!
Emma, I’ve been following your abstract watercolor tutorials and they are SO helpful. Will you please continue to do more? I realize that you are very talented and can do many other things but would really appreciate more abstract watercolor tutorials whenever you feel so inclined. 😊🌵
just wondering. I live in Hawaii. Here, flowers, feathers tropical fruits are very beautiful. I was hoping you could do a tropical series someday??? I would love to learn how to watercolor things like mangoes, gardenias, birds of paradise, plumerias, gingers, and even some ferns. I would also love to learn how to paint passionfruit on or off the vines???? You are just so amazing. Mahalo nui loa, thank you very much.
So fun - can't wait to try this - I used to do a lot of loose watercolor, but got too caught up in the detail ... I'm going back!! Thank you for all of this, you're super creative.
Really pretty, Emma! Holy Smoke - Prang, huh? Loose, loose....gotta try loose.... Thanks for sharing and for using your precious nap time to make these videos for us. I really like the real time painting with your comments about what you are doing. So many artists cut out bits and it’s hard to follow.
I bought these watercolors yesterday at Michael’s for $7 using a 50% coupon. They are amazing! I’ve been using Windsor Newton Cotman, but these are so much fun!
Just amazing, I try to keep up with you, but I am a very new watercolorist! I love your videos and hope to have something that looks similar to yours in the future! I will keep trying! Your child is adorable and so are you! Thank you!
I love what you're doing with tutorials!😘 BTY you don't need to run to your baby everytime it crys. It's your baby n I doubt people commenting know what you know! You are a great artist n better mother. Just saying😘❤💋
Love what you are able to do with the prang paints! I need to finish up my cheap paper and get brave enough to open the arches that I’ve been saving. it seems like the paper really makes a difference.
Still in my learning phase and have used up SO much cheaper for trying to get loose. I am ADD and OCD so try to keep palette and other paint clean. If I get any color on another color it isn't good. LOL Will keep trying and one day be able to get what is in my head on to the paper. Thanks for all your teaching videos. You have to know they inspire us to become better artists.
@@dorotheashuster6945 One thing you might try is having separate wells, or even a separate palette specifically for combining colors. For example, keep your yellow perfectly clean in one, but have another yellow for mixing with blue or green that’s “supposed to be” multicolored. And maybe have one for yellow that’s for mixing with reds or pinks, for example. That way when it’s multicolored, it’s because it’s supposed to be. You could do another with blue, purple, and on and on...as many as you need. I believe Emma commonly mixes a purple with a green to make a beautiful brown (or maybe it’s a purple with a brown to make a green, ha!). So, you could have a well for when you’re wanting to mix those colors. I saw one artist squirt a line of a particular yellow and a line of a particular blue together in the same well, because she uses that combination very often to make her favorite green. Things like that help take part of the pressure off, and make it fun rather than threatening. 😊 Also, did you know that if you accidentally get one paint in another’s well, it’s easy to clean up. For example, if you get red on your yellow, just hold your palette up, spritz the yellow with water from a small spray bottle, and the red will flow down with gravity to the bottom of the well. Simply blot that little bit up with a piece of paper towel or a rag, and your yellow will be all ready to go again! 😃 I hope these suggestions help make your watercolor painting journey more enjoyable. Jacqui ❤️
You're going to have your baby anytime 😊 you shared tonight April 7th, 2022... so I started to scout about your videos & WOW!!! You have lots of beautiful art just waiting for us! I love this ... as a beginner my "loose" florals look like an "oops"... did someone spill their paint? Take care, with love from a California Gramma ❤
Gorgeous, Emma! Even working fast, you're a wonder. (and I LOVED your "happy accident" cauliflower on your vase). I have these Prang colors and am astounded with their results. Sadly, they're not filled too deeply, but great while they last. You are the "floral go-to" artist on YT, no question! Love the new loose technique. Happy Easter! :) Fanna Turano Denver, CO
This painting is quite different. I too have the prang but seldom use them as I have better paints (I feel) but I may start to use them again. Maybe for bible journaling. thanks for the video
so im pre new to watercolour and got windsor professional paints (just like 4) and i dont like using a lot of the paint but feel like I would use it properly and saturate my art more if they were in the driede up form. So It's totally fine to squeeze some out and just let it dry overnight then?? :O Still kinda scared to do that haha
Yes! You can squeeze some out and let it dry. Keep in mind, depending on your palette it may fall out but you can always stick it back with more paint.
Hi Emma 👋 really loved the end results of your beautiful watercolour painting I am so glad I have discovered your wonderful tutorials If it is at all possible please could you paint a very simple but very realistic looking Rose ,. as I am not getting any luck doing thank you have a lovely weekend 💞🦋 Lin in South Wales uk x
Barbara Rivera Putting yourself down is NOT a compliment to the artist. In fact, it makes a lot of artists uncomfortable. You’re not telling them their art is good, you’re telling them that their art makes you feel bad about yourself. I’m sure your art is fantastic! Remember, art doesn’t take talent, it takes practice!
@@LunatheMoonDragon she’s not putting Emma down at all! I’m sure that your comment is making her “feel bad”! How dare you? You should remove your comment. @@jacquicherry1721 Are you okay? haha My point is that putting yourself down isn't a compliment to other artists, and it's not a compliment to yourself. No one feels good when you say negative things about yourself.
@@LunatheMoonDragon I’m perfectly fine. But, being hurtful to someone isn’t funny. It’s not your place to correct that in her...only to be an encouragement to her. That’s what caring people do. Your tutorials are so great, thank you for sharing. I want to give watercolor a try. A question, how do you protect your watercolor paintings? Is there longevity to these paintings, I want to gift my friends but I also want them to last. You are generous and your work is lovely. Thanks again
It looks great! I love it! You are very good at abstract!! You should do more. When I do abstract I go overboard and then I have a lot of paint on the paper and no art work. I should try the paints you got from Amazon. They look great! Do they hold up after they are dry? If they dull down I'll stick to my W. N. Cotman. Thanks for sharing 😄😎 FL.
Your little one is precious! I'm truly a beginner wannabe and can't help but wonder... You're right handed yet have your paints on the left. How long did it take for you to get comfortable painting?
I love all your abstract flower videos! Beautiful work! Wow!! those color bleeds are intense. I assume they are a combination of the paints and the paper you use?
Tetiana Afanasenko I turned down the volume of the monitor haha. He was napping and sometimes he cries out like that in his sleep. He just stops and continues sleeping. I also have a pretty good idea of his cries and I knew that he would fall back asleep. If it was his “I’m waking up cry” I probably would have gone to comfort him and rock him a little to help him fall back asleep.
