I know everything is going multiverse right now but this is actually how the comics naturally progressed when they came out in like 2005.

The messed up part is, the evil invincible talks so normally like this is how it’s supposed to happen. He doesn’t get upset or angry or yell like other traditional villains. He’s just so calmly explaining that the people have to die by their hand, and that’s very terrifying lol 😂
Yeah he says - "dude I'm sorry but if you riot, I have to kill you. Bye bro."
His wording and logic mirror Cecil.
As CS Lewis said, the scariest villains are the ones who are convinced they are doing the right thing.
The multiverse in Invincible is a pretty slight part of the setting honestly. The most important thing about it is that it creates Angstrom Levy. It’s a weapon for Angstrom, or a tool for building character for the principle cast, not an excuse to tell derivative stories in shifted contexts.
Angstrom is one of my favorite characters in the comic, it's nice to see they've done a great job fleshing out some things Kirkman wanted to originally!
I'm also interested to see what they do with Bulletproof; guy has a weird but great arc in the comics.
You gotta admit alot of the side characters go through weird but great arc too. but thats wut i like about invincible.
Invincible’s greatest strength was naturally progressing and nuanced character arcs for several characters no matter how big or small. Some characters had huge arcs *ahem* Robot…..
You guys did miss the atom Eve special that released a few months. Highly recommend watching it soon

Wasn’t the suit that bulletproof was wearing the one first suit mark got in season 1 but he didn’t like it I guess they gave it to him 😂

first major clue that it was not the future ut a differnt reality was robot, in the good reality he copyeied rex dna and became rudy but in the opening section he was still in his original body so he probably didnt have the maulers help in that one.
im glad the maulers are still prominent and one didnt die hes proven himself to be one of the smartest characers and despite his greedy nature i think he has potential to be a useful ally
The Maulers are fantastic, they have really good development in the comics and end up in some interesting places. They’ve been even more prominent in the show and are clearly audience favorites, so they’ll probably be expanded on even more.
i know a ton of fans are dying to see conquest and thragg, but i'm stoked that the show's going straight into the angstrom levy arc. the viltrumites only care about earth, but levy is laser focused on mark. he's a terrifying villain.😁

Robert Kirkman didn’t just adapt it for TV, he and Cory Walker came up with Invincible and the story, with Ryan Ottley coming on board in issue 8. Angstrom Levy is partly his creation along with Robert Kirkman. Just thought I’d clear that up as it sounded like you thought Kirkman only adapted the story as opposed to basically creating it.
Insane episode but sadly the deminsion guy become bad... I don't really know who to blame tho. You can't really blame invincible in on the situation
Yeah i was really liking that guy and thought it would have been really dope to explore more on him. But now he is just another bad guy. Would've loved to have seen more of the maller twins too
@@MrMajesticMajestythe hooded guy became the dominant personality that’s why we focused on him so much. his shit is just as understandable as blue shirt angstrom. Remember the other versions of angstrom don’t have portal powers, so when evil invincible and Omni Man attacked his world he was powerless to stop them from massacring millions of people. Anybody in that situation would hate Invincible.
You can blame Invincible. He wasnt ready, he insisted on coming back and his eagerness to prove that hes a hero who can stop bad guys turned into a catastrophe.

What's more impressive? They played it first note to last, no edits - that is almost unheard of in media, especially television. They _invested_ in this show...

I thought this was a great season debut. Invincible does multiverse stories right because it's not about the multiverse itself. It's used properly as a means to an end. It only exists in the story insofar as it's character drven to keep the audience invested with the spectacle as an afterthought (take notes, Marvel). They didn't piggyback on the trend either. This is just where this phase of the original story went with the introduction Angstrom Levy. He's a great character too.
Oh man you guys missed the differences between the Angstrom Levy post-explosion moment in the comic and show. Its a key detail and I just posted a reel about it!
Mark is echoing his father from last season shifting the blame to the victims that he himself hurts

There is only one levy with the powers, that’s why he wanted the knowledge of the others, so he could go to other dimensions and help them.
I do not fault you at all for being suspicious of Angstrom, I was immediately suspicious of him as well, with the way he spoke. Maybe some would consider it cynical, but as great as everything he said sounded, it immediately set off alarms in my head. I think it's because he insisted on being the "chosen one." I don't like power like that being focused into one person. As well-intentioned as he might have been, he had no idea the consequences of what he asked for. The Maulers even said that they had no idea what kind of effect it would have on Angstrom. Sure, he took off the helmet early, but who could say that having all of those minds put into one wouldn't have a different, but equally bad effect. The Maulers told him he needed to remember himself and separate the other memories, but how would they know if his mind could even handle that?
I'm with you, I am so excited to see where this season goes! I wonder how long it will take before we see Omni Man again in the "original" universe.

@luckypanda7707 exactly, as much as the "chosen one" tends to be evil, he doesn't have another option, unless he gives his power to an alter
in the comics after losing to his father. mark defeats other fearsome enemies. here he loses repeatedly. they really make it look poor

It took me a while to remember that it was an adaptation of a 2006 comic, before that I was wondering if the multiverse was supposed to parody Marvel
And thus one of marks greatest foes was born.

Invincible in the comics is SUCH a dick. He just shows up all cocky and what happens to Angstrom Levy is basically his fault. So I'm really curious how they'll handle this arc cuz they did a good job last season removing all the ugly teen jock smell the comics had.
Kirkman has said this is his second draft, a refinement on the comics, and his chance to correct “mistakes” he made as an antisocial comic writer in his early 20’s. I think it shows a lot in the character of Mark, but he also clearly wanted to make Amber a bigger character (even if a lot of people hate it, I don’t) along with Debbie, who got some of the best scenes last season which were completely new for the show.
When will you guys be doing Gen V?

honestly tho tv and movies are like 50 years late to the multiverse, the comics all this multiverse stuff is from are like from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Been around forever : D

Same streaming channel as Invincible, so that's why I'm mentioning it here, already got 2 seasons of 12 episodes each, with a third one confirmed, not to mention a "sequel" (kinda like Korra to Avatar) on the way. It's also about as bloody as Invincible, so I that's something else they have in common.

other version of the caracter r mainly the same or dead, in other univers mark and his dad kill most resisting heros even in univers were make win against omniman he eventualy follow the path of viltumite and colonize earth a few years after (well we only see the bad vertion cos we only have acces to it by the portal guy but he says it's not hard to find a bad mark cos it's the most frequent case
)
@toxincloud1629 We spend time in the Mohawk Mark universe but most characters there were the same.
That’s not really how Invincible handles the multiverse, it’s mostly there because Angstrom uses it as a weapon. Although I guess the Flaxxans are from a different dimension and they’re very important, so that counts. But yeah, don’t expect to see alt version of all or even most of the characters.

It's funny that he was actually telling the truth about using discoveries from other universes to improve every Earth. Still, Cecil and Invincible just assumed that it was for evil, just like you two did 😉, and ended up dooming all worlds to problems and creating a Supervillain in the process.
The fact that Robot's still in his original body in the other timeline should have been your clue there.
Also, you didn't notice someone else who shouldn't be alive.
That explosion was on Mark. Langstrom caused it to stop them from killing Mark. All he had to do was talk it out instead of fighting, but he so desperately craved fighting bad guys that he did not stop to consider that. Also, prime Langstrom isnt the one we see in the beginning. He has no reason to be obsessed with stopping alternate Mark even though he would eventually come around to do that as his mission for an interdimensional utopia.

welcome to my absolute least favorite Invincible character: Angstrom Levy
whaaaaat??? maybe he himself is not the best character but what happens because of his existence is some of the best parts of the comic imo
its clear he's a catalyst for emotional change in mark and his character is complex but i felt like concerns about him drug on for too long. then again the dinosaur drug on even longer with a lot of flipflopping. either way im waiting to see if kirkman changes some of it up or if its paced better as an animation

They should have avoided multiverse like the third rail. I watched both episodes and am genuinely bored and underwhelmed, I was fast forwarding through tons of the parts.
They keep throwing in these random villains too, and I know its probably some reference to characters in the comics, but its being done horribly. First season did it MUCH better.

It's not your fault. The episode deliberately made it look like Angstrom was a villain or an out of control vigilante seeking revenge against Invincible for what the evil versions did.
It's like episode 1 of season 1, where it seemed like another coming of age superhero story, ala Spiderman or Smallville--until the shocking twist ending.😱😱😱😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😊🐶😂😂😂😂⏳🐶😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🐶
