I have the earlier version without the blackout ( it should be an option, I personally don’t like sleeping in a dark cave)! I use it for solo camping and it is absolutely brilliant! Just about the biggest tent of this type that one person can erect on their own. Fantastic for a weeks camping taking all your kit with you. I got mine for £60 in a Millets sale.
I purchased this tent too take to Cornwall. Just got back from there yesterday. The tent stood upto heavy rain for 18 hours a week ago, then the last 2 days wind with 50 mph gusts and driving rain no leaks at all in the bedroom area and only a slight leakage by the side entrance, nothing significant and as you can pull the groundsheet away from there anyway it doesnt't matter. Two nights temperature went down to 2 degrees the temperature difference between the bedroom and vestibule was massive. No condensation at all in the bedroom but quite a lot in the vestibule. Got a shower climbing out lol. Only to be expected I suppose, the important bit is that the bedroom stays bone dry and it did. I wish that the zips were better as they do feel flimsy and that the poles are a right pain to slide in but they are easier to get out if pushed and not pulled as I found out. All in all I am very pleased , I know that my Tipi tent would not have taken the punishment that this tent did. My little Frenchie was happy in it too lol. I would recommend this tent..Oh and the bedroom area is big, you really could sleep 3 and the vesibule will take a chair, a small table and a camping stove no problem. The side entrance is a bonus too as when it is pouring down opening that doesnt let as much water pour in off the fabric.. I should add that I used none of the pegs it came with. I used the big yellow plastic ones they work a lot better.
Got mine for £60, but it was the non- blackout version, which I prefer. A bit fiddly to put up, but a great versatile tent when you get used to it. The best bit is the massive porch area for storing kit and food etc. Then the porch door can be opened up for sitting under - (extra poles required), for sitting out when the weather is fine.
I got this in the January sales for 59 quid at Millets. In fact, at that price. I bought one for my nephew as well as we go motorcycle camping together. Heavy tent, but fine on the motorbikes.
Great review, thanks! Also worth saying having the side door is WAY better in the rain as opening a wet front door ( only option on the slightly smaller Cairns DLX ) gets a load of water into the porch. Also this happens with dew. The Cairns front door also leaks at the zip junction whearas the Avon has a storm flap to stop that happening!
Hi there, on the strength of this review I bought the Avon 3 £70 from Go Outdoors yesterday and put it up today. It was a fair bit more complicated than my previous festival 2 man tent, but me and the two grandkids (6 and 4) eventually got it done in a couple of hours. Am sure next time will be faster. One of the dome poles had got stuck and i needed to release both poles to loosen the tension to figure out where it was stuck. Single handed in a force 10 gale, never gonna happen. Next time also will fiddle about with pegging out. All of us were tired by this point and just wanted to get in it and play. The bedroom area is HUGER than I expected by a mile, really impressed by thstat. The three of us were virtually snow angelling and had plenty of space. The porch smaller than i had thought but excellent for storage. My main disappointment was that neither door has a mesh option. I would have preferred at least one to have it. So all in all 8/10 looking forward to getting out to use it both in my own and with the kids. ❤️
There should be a mesh which is part of the front door of the sleeping area. You separate it by unzipping the front door which has two layers if your model is like mine. Otherwise just leave the top bit of the door unzipped to get more airflow through.
Great review, I'm thinking of buying this to use for myself on campsite breaks. The clincher question is - is there headroom to sit in a chair and have a small table in the vestibule area if the tent? Any help would be much appreciated 🙂👍🏻
Picked one of these up purely as a last minute trip smaller tent. We have a huge 6 man tent and extension for the longer trips but the wedge shape tents I have of various capacity all made my other half feel claustrophobic (cloth coffins she calls them) so I needed something with a bit more room. For the money you can't go wrong. I'm not new to camping so I will closely inspect seams and seal if required though it's looking alright to me on first glance. Time will tell but I'm happy. It's the green version too so I little more appealing to the eye.
Finally used this is some shocking conditions last week. The rain was persistent and gusts of upto 50mph. It held up well to the wind properly lined out but the rain water found its way through the zips of the doors. It wasn't the end of the world as it doesn't have a bathtub floor but it did collect some pretty huge puddles round the doors.
Great Review Buddy, I just bought this tent but the green version and I am blown way at the quality, One Awesome tent I would recommend it to anyone And Great value for the price
Got one of these last year in green from go outdoors for something like £60 great tent if your not walk far from your car. The black out is great for the bright nights/mornings
Thank you for such a great review. I have looked on go outdoor and they are selling them for about £80 but on their website the reviews are not so good so I’m hoping that you will tell me a wonderful this is.
Lots of people saying this is a waterproof tent but I bought one specifically for a 4 day festival and one the 1 day it rained the porch area roof leaked like a sieve - not condensation, you could see the water soaking through the fabric and dripping on the floor. The bedroom dome was bone dry however, so I can only assume quality assurance isn't great and the porch area on mine was not properly waterproofed. Otherwise a solid tent, so maybe give it a re-waterproofing before you use it if you buy one.
I'm picking up one of these for £72 brand new. I did have the Eurohike Sendero 4 and that had exactly the same problem with rain water leaking through the material. I've got a few OEX products and never had this problem. I think reapplying a waterproof coating is excellent advice on tents like this so at least you've given the bastard the best chance in our British weather!
looks a great tent at a great price, I got the eurohike sendero 4 person tent and the only gripe I had is theres no bug net on the main door (like this one) so you have a choice.... red hot tent in summer or a cooler tent full of winged beasts!!
Went to buy one for 70 quid and took it to the till with other items, she didn't scan it and when I walked out the store and saw the receipt I was well chuffed...Shhh free tent!
I just used mine this weekend, easy to set up, I was in it alone so lots of room. This morning lots of dew, brushed the inside of the porch and it started dripping. Not sure if it condensation inside or outside, however it did make me concerned it wasn't fully waterproof. Saying that, I was on top of a mountain and I was impressed with it in a breeze.
It is fully waterproof, I’ve spent time in mine when it was bucketing down! Probably condensation. It is always best to open up all the ventilation first thing to clear the condensation. It is incredible how much water vapour we breath out in the night, also the temperature fluctuates a lot during the night and creates dew on the inside of the fly sheet.
With discount card from Go outdoors I paid £59.50( with front poles £65,62). Tent is fantastic, spacious, easy and fast to pitch up( second time with bedroom already attached). Mesh on both door would be brilliant. The only problem is front arch, you have to be really careful with pole.
I put mine up for the first time yesterday. I really struggled with the pole for the porch, it seemed like it was too long. Are there any tips to make this easier or is it because its new?
The “ colour coded” poles in the printed instructions was a bit confusing. No colour per se. Silver for the dome poles, grey band at the end for the porch poles. There is a noticeable difference in length. Just be aware.
Just cancelled my Amazon order for a Coleman Tasman 3 for this. I ordered it on the 3rd July and it's the 10th now and still not shipped and showing at out of stock so I don't think it was coming any time soon and in any case, it's twice the money, smaller and non blackout.
People often either laugh or turn their noses up at the Eurohike brand but honestly I can't fault their gear. I especially like some of their older rucksacks the quality was on a par with Berghaus.
Can you tell me were you brought the order version, I have brought and returned a newer one as it dose not have the same specifications. The main door is a different shape and dose not have holes for poles. It no longer has privacy curtains because of the nightfall sleeping area. The main poles are now ring and pin and not eyelet style. It now been changed to 2000 Hydrostatic. If you could let me know that would be great as I like the older style.
Sounds like you have the same version as me. despite it rated at 2000 HH it stood upto masses of heavy rain and 50mph winds. I too was sorry that it didnt have the holes for poles so i rigged something up.
Gutted I dont have the dulux as I bought mine b4 they made the front facing porch and blackout! I love this tent but just wish this one was available back then!
I've sold it now and replaced it with my Decathlon Quechua family tent. To be honest, its not too difficult, you just need to get all the poles through the sleeves before you start pitching it.
Hi Andy, I have the early version (non nightfall) used it for years and love it. Do you know if Eurohike sell the nightfall compartment separately? Cheers
Thanks for the awesome review! Probably not gonna buy a tent in the near future but was interested in the features a decent tent has, and your video helped 👌 It’s also a decent price considering all the features
Can you please do a review on the Eurohike Tamar 2 backpacking tent - Just bought one haven't been out in it yet. Retails normally at £102 pounds - on amazon for £42.050p at the moment.
Hi Terry.. I’ve just bought the Tamar 2 from Millets on eBay £37 free postage. I tried it out in the back garden for 2 nights. I found it to be a very good tent for the price, although one of the toggles on the inner tent was missing, but it made no real difference overall, but something to check before you take it out camping proper.
I love the Eurohike stuff but for this sort of base camp 3 person tent I’d personally go for the Kampa Brighton 3 or 4, because the Kampa has a dull double door on the inner tent - one full mesh and the other the normal full cloth. I also prefer a light coloured inner tent so I can lie inside reading on rainy days! I have a Eurohike Tamar in the cupboard which I adore for chucking out on the patio at home during heatwaves, perfect cheap tent, it’s been about £35 quid for 30 years!
The Vango Beta tents are superior to this one. Their tents come with UV light protection, fire retardant, 3000HH which makes them waterproof. Like the sales pitch. Are you on commission for this video?!
Every time I see a "3-person family-camping" tent, all I can think of is, "what a nice, roomy 1-person-only tent!" 😂
You're not the only one! 😂
I have the earlier version without the blackout ( it should be an option, I personally don’t like sleeping in a dark cave)! I use it for solo camping and it is absolutely brilliant! 100% 😂
My thoughts exactly 😂

Poles....just lift one end and let the pole slide...even walk in the opp direction...
Can you elaborate on your brief comment
Got mine for £60, but it was the non- blackout version, which I prefer. A bit fiddly to put up, but a great versatile tent when you get used to it. Heavy tent, but fine on the motorbikes.
Absolutely perfect for motorbikes or general camping 👍

I have had this model of tent since the 1990's and tried a lot inbetween, but this the best mix of value and space. Fiddly to put up through.
Its a really good tent with lots of good features . Lots of room , the only criticism is if it were a bit taller i wouldnt have to bend so much
Great Review Buddy, I just bought this tent but the green version and I am blown way at the quality, One Awesome tent I would recommend it to anyone And Great value for the price
When I got mine they didn't make a green version otherwise I would have purchased that one!
Got one of these last year in green from go outdoors for something like £60 great tent if your not walk far from your car. The black out is great for the bright nights/mornings
I actually sold this for a green one! That’s the best colour in my opinion.
I've got this tent it's really good👍👍👍👍👍👍👍⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️
Thank you for such a great review. I have looked on go outdoor and they are selling them for about £80 but on their website the reviews are not so good so I’m hoping that you will tell me a wonderful this is.
Nothing wrong with it for the money. The blackout is also great for short summer nights.
after a massive amount of resurch I keep coming back to this tent, I've decided to get it, oh and chips are no longer cheep
I've just recommended this tent to my brother-in-law. I genuinely rate this tent really highly.

It's a really nice tent with some great features but it definitely doesn't have anywhere near the height of the Sendero.
Went to buy one for 70 quid and took it to the till with other items, she didn't scan it and when I walked out the store and saw the receipt I was well chuffed...Shhh free tent!

Great review. What’s it like when it’s hot? Thinking of buying it over the Decathlon Quechua mh100 F&B. Which would you suggest
From my experience, all black out tents tend to be slightly warmer.
I put mine up for the first time yesterday. I really struggled with the pole for the porch, it seemed like it was too long. Are there any tips to make this easier or is it because its new?
It’s really tight. Just make sure all the fabric is pulled through properly and not snagged before you give it a big pull to fix the end.
I have one, if you didn’t know, one of the poles is shorter so I think that’s for the front, using that I don’t have any problems
The “ colour coded” poles in the printed instructions was a bit confusing. No colour per se. Silver for the dome poles, grey band at the end for the porch poles. There is a noticeable difference in length. Just be aware.
Just picked this up for £67 off the back of your great review. Thanks!

Quick question Andy: Can the inner bedroom be left in when packing this tent away?
Yes, definitely!
Really red in there. You can develop film in there!
😂
Great video thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Gutted I dont have the dulux as I bought mine b4 they made the front facing porch and blackout! I love this tent but just wish this one was available back then!
Blackout is a huge improvement. These come up in the sales lots so keep your eye out for a bargain.
Their Carins 4 dlx is a very similar tent with a bit more room and height which is a handy size upgrade if needed.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Just got this for my music festivals and yes it was on sale for £80
Great purchase! You'll really benefit from the blackout interior.
Thank You sir
I'm looking for a tent about this size with a door I could open in rain without flooding, not sure if this would work?
You would use the side door if it's raining.
@@BackpackingUK I guess the groundsheet can be rolled back a bit so not to catch any incoming rain.
Could you fit a inflatable double bed in it?
I’m fairly sure you can 👍
I’ve just bought this and concerned that the side door does not zip up at the bottom meaning surely if it was windy and rainy the porch would get wet?
I’m 99.9% sure the zip runs all the way round
How about a sep video on the best way to get this pitched up! Thanks
Cheers
Not as far as I’m aware. To be honest, it’s so cheap it might be worth upgrading?
Thanks for the awesome review!
Probably not gonna buy a tent in the near future but was interested in the features a decent tent has, and your video helped 👌
It’s also a decent price considering all the features
This is a lot of tent for the money!
Can you please do a review on the Eurohike Tamar 2 backpacking tent - Just bought one haven't been out in it yet. Retails normally at £102 pounds - on amazon for £42.050p at the moment.
Unfortunately I don't have this tent but it's ridiculously cheap!
Just looked and go outdoors have got it on sale for £70.(Aug 21)
Bargain!
I have the Eurohike Shadow 350 also - which I bought for £80.00
That's a really nice tent too. Again, excellent value for money.
Is it properly waterproof? I'm about to use it for a few days in North Wales and wondering if I need to spray it with waterproofing or not
They say it is fully waterproof and the HH rating is 3000. I haven’t used mine in torrential rain but it’s fine in rain showers.
I don't think you can beat the value of Eurohike tents. Value-for-money is off the scale!
is the nightfall actually noticeable or is it best to stick with just a standard tent?
Definitely noticeable, I would choose blackout every time. It's just a shame it isn't offered on backpacking tents too.
great review! would you recommend this tent over the eurohike shadow 350 nightfall tunnell version?
They are very similar. Obviously I went for the Avon 3 so I prefer that tent, but either option would be great budget 3 person tents.
Great review, thanks.
Cheers 👍
The Vango Beta tents are superior to this one. Their tents come with UV light protection, fire retardant, 3000HH which makes them waterproof. They are tunnel tents just like this one but give you more space and have the band system that makes the structure as stable as any dome tent and the Retail price is around £165.00
They are better. However, I’ve seen this tent as low as £59 from Go Outdoors. That’s a lot of tent for your money plus it has blackout.
This isn't a tunnel tent, it's a dome so the bedroom is a little airier that the Beta's since it doesn't taper down to a point as fast. Agreed the Beta's are good though :-)
The Beta is significantly larger than this with a much bigger porch and slightly smaller bedroom.
3:24 or double-peg.
I have the non nightfall version. It's served me well for about 4 years. I want to buy another one but can only find nightfall version. Can the blackout be removed/ is there some way to let light in?
Unfortunately not, the nightfall is the inner, it's not separate.
Looks like Eurohike has made this tent inferior in the last 2 years, the official waterproofing has gone down from 3000 to 2000. It looks like the reviewed tent is 3000.
Also people now complain about the zips, doors and porch letting water through.
Waterproofing sometimes isn't consistent and it's missing from random areas.
Just like most things post CvD19, it's not as good as it used to be, corners are being cut. Eurohike used to be good value for money, but atm seems to be rubbish.
I wanted to buy this tent, but there's currently a lot negative feedback.
Reckon could sit in porch in a basic camp chair
Definitely 👍
@@BackpackingUK great thanks
why is that 3 man tent bigger than my 4 man tent
This is a really good sized 3 man tent!
Picked this tent up for £35.
Wow! That’s a bargain.
Wowzer !!
Just picked one up for £69 at millets
£69 now….thats a great price, perfect for festivals etc
got mine for 59 quid :p January sales....
Bargain! Can't go wrong!
Paid £55 for mine in a millets sale

STILL not used it yet lol
