      +George Johnson He got them there, you need somebody else to take it into the end zone, the "ultimate" end zone, but he did as much as anybody ever has to help propel a team to The Promised Land, and nobody had more impact or was more entertaining!!!!!!!!!! I don't think any DB could of covered prime Moss one-on-one all game effectively. Moss had great size at 6'4". He also was a freak at jumping, 42 inch vertical and combine that with his size, he could jump over any DB. He was fast as shit too, a 4.25 40 and he had top 3 top end speed in NFL history. He would torch you on the deep ball all day and he was the greatest deep threat ever.

      ***** Moss was the most physically gifted WR ever until CJ came along. Moss could just fly by a corner, plant and make a move or just jump over him to make the catch. There was never a corner born that could stop every threat that Randy presented. Sherman would have found himself in a number of footraces against Randy and would not have fared well. I like Sherman and I think he'd have done better than most against Randy due to his size and smarts, but he would not have been able to stop young Randy from producing.

    • @Elthenar

      If you read my post carefully, you will notice that I did not say Moss was the best ever. He could have been, but he didn't quite make it. Moss at his best was unstoppable though, I did mean that part. Give him a QB with at least average accuracy and no CB could cover him.
      Disclosure, I am a Bucs fan who watched our Dungy era Tampa 2 defense play against young, prime Moss twice a year. Let me tell you, young Moss COULD get that first down.

      Randy Moss owned the best of the best when randy was still on top of his game and had a QB who would find him. Plus, Randy could run routes on both sides of the field, Sherman can only play one side of the field, that's been well established for years. Sherman is not a complete DB. Now Calvin Johnson is seeing these coverages and he's the best WR since Randy Moss. As far as Richard Sherman go Marvin Harrison would eat him alive fast as shit and exceptional route running.

      leon scott sherman is as intelligent a player as you can find at ANY position, but I don't care how many science fairs you won, or how many A papers you wrote for a dissertation, none of that is a factor in a straight up foot race. Sherman is slow but his physicality and technique lets him keep up with fast wideouts but there is no one in the league right now who is near the freak randy moss was. A Seahawks fan. Sherman is a great corner but at his prime, nobody could cover Moss . Moss had everything. Speed, route running, height, ball skills. The current NFL rules favor passing game. Wideouts like Moss thrive in the current system. In the old days, big tough bump-and-run corners like Mel Blount would have slowed him down a bit. But not in today game.

    I love Randy Moss' accent... now honestly I think that if Sherman tried to cover Randy Moss he would have no chance. Randy Moss is arguably(and in my opinion) the greatest Wide Receiver of all time. And with Tom Brady feeding the balls to him with that kind of accuracy, it would be complete murder. If Sherman ever found a QB who could throw to WR with even half of Randy Moss' talent he wouldn't be so loud and proud.

    Sherman is a great corner. But Randy does (or did) a 4.15 at top speed, and torched top corners like Darell Revis. Id love it if Randy Moss and Sherman both got to play each other at their prime. Moss is a bit past his prime now, while Sherman is just getting into his.

    • @christianryle6062
      @christianryle6062 11 лет назад +4

      4.15 is insanely fast. While no doubt Randy Moss was very fast, no one has ever ran that fast at the combine. Chris Johnson currently holds the record with something like 4.22. And Moss is a big guy so he probably ran like a 4.35 or 4.4

    Randy Moss in his prime wins. The man came as close to being untouchable at the WR position as we've ever seen. It's a shame he didn't have the work ethic Jerry Rice maintained, because I think Moss was more talented. Moss was a genetic freak at WR, much like Gronkowski is at the tight end position nowadays. With the right work ethic and a good team and quarterback throwing to him, he would have been legendary.

    A lot of nostalgia in the comment section, saying a top 15 all time corner would get torched by a top 3 all time receiver. I watched both play in their prime. Stop living in a fairy tale, both guys are elite and Hall of Famers(Sherman is future HOF) and it would be a great battle. Although Moss would take him most times I'd think, Sherman would win plenty of battles. Sherman is known for almost "never" giving up big plays. While Moss is probably the biggest deep threat in NFL history. Both guys would be playing against each other's strengths. Step out of your fairy tale world's. You're letting your hate for a player blind you. Stop mixing emotions with facts and aknowledge it would be a great match up.

    • @TheCondescendingRedditor

      @Random Guy2000 he's an all time top 15 on just about every list. Bleacher report has him as the 8th best shutdown corner of ALL TIME. Gives up the least amount of plays over 15 yards of ANY corner in history. Least targeted corner of all time. 6'3" with a 43" vertical. Yeah he must be a total bum.
