The subtitle moment cracked me up.. Especially when there actually were subtitles.. Hilarious 😂
It gave foreshadowing to him reading his wife's lips at the party. Mrs Movie's reasoning path wasn't that wrong. There hadn't been subtitles yet so why would there be here? The robot dialogue in WALL-E is subtitled, which otherwise is just as unrecognizable to the audience as mouth-reading here.
I'm glad you enjoyed this one. Philip Seymour Hoffman played my favorite villain in the franchise. He keeps things no-nonsense, ruthless, and all too personal, which something I wish more villains were like. This isn't my favorite Mission Impossible movie, but it's the first step in a direction that turns Mission Impossible into one of greatest action/spy series in modern cinema. You'll see why soon enough.
Strang thing...People like him exist in the real world.
Yeah, he was great in this movie. Coming from Twister to this shows how much he grew as an actor.
He is incredible. At 15 years old his performance really stuck with me especially the part when he is in the plane tied up.
He was actually scary
He wasn't scary. He easily got caught and then got help escaping. He can't do anything on his own. Ethan beat him even with a bomb in his head.
MI3 is when these really start to get great... I'm really stoked for your reactions to the upcoming ones.
M:II was just a John Woo movie with gadgets and the franchise name stuck on it!from this movie on, it became Bond like, and in a good way!
Nah, got good with Rogue Nation
Some say this movie had the best villain in the whole series
Wait until you see Solomon Lane
@@orlandoaugustostock4578 I much prefer Philip Seymour Hoffman's character. The next three movies were the better movies overall, but I think this one had the best villain by far.
May very well be. Wouldn’t argue. The next 3 films are much better. This one smacks of a lot of JJ cringe and tone.
@@michaelsegriff3362JJ sucks
It's a great performance by PSH, but the villain is laughable. He's a doughy bully whose weird Bond villain shtick is putting bombs in skulls and making grandiose but ineffectual threats.
I forgot how absolutely STACKED this cast is. Even the characters with one line have had great careers. 👏 such a perfect way to soft reboot a franchise
And this is when the franchise really decides how it wants to be. Each movie gets better and better, but the next one (Ghost Protocol) is my favorite. It just hits everything just right for me. Luther will always be the best member, but Benji was an awesome inclusion in this one.
If they kill off Luther in either of the last 2 movies I'll fucking riot
Ghost Protocol, is EXCELLENT
Yeah it's a weird franchise. Usually the FIRST is the rough one. But 2 was a disaster. With this, it not only got back on track but set the bar for sure.
5 is my fav
@@GeorgeTropicana The only bad thing I can say about Ghost Protocol is how little Luther takes part in the action.
1:30 Your conversation with the kid is so beautiful. Aww... So cute 😊🥺 The kiddo melts the heart... Don't never ever let that cute soul get corrupted by this modern world. 😊👍
Btw, welcome to MI3.... from here onwards it's gonna be one hell of a awesome journey into the best sequels that are about to come. Good Luck, from a fellow mission impossible fan !
We didn't have to wait long for the daughter cameo.
RiP Philip Seymour Hoffman. This was one of his best performances, but my favorite was in Twister.
Is it getting old? Used to happen once in a while, now it's every show.. Sometimes twice a show?
And my favorite Hoffman is Along Came Polly.. He is hilarious in that
You guys are so wholesome, it's sickening. I love it.
Also, "I bet they had to redo that shot 'cause Tom Cruise kept out running the camera" is comedy gold.
apart from calling your husband a fucking prick over something as simple as a misunderstanding...it's actually disgusting the way she talks to him...
Hoffman is such an excellent villain in this film.
I wouldn’t have pegged as being able to portray terrifying so well.
This is the MI film that for me, really lit the fuse for the franchise to blow up. Even though cruise didn't start doing the insane stunt work gags until MI4 (and has become a signature feature of the MI films), this film introduced a storyline and string of villains that were superior to the previous two installments and continue on today. A well-paced film with memorable appearances.
Let's just take a second and give these parents a round of applause for giving these little girls apples, cheese, and Care Bears! 🍎🧀🐻 "There was subtitles for the mouthing." Classic! You two are the mirror image of me and my wife watching movies.
"Now Tom Cruise is running up things!" What a line! Love it. Can't wait for the Mr. and Mrs. to get to the rest. I will be curious to see the Mrs. react to seeing a member of Lost show up...
41:36 “I’m gonna dies unless you kill me” 😂
"There were subtitles for the mouthing." LOL, put that win in your back pocket for later, my man.
weird that the subtitles aren't hard-coded in the movie. I saw this in the theater when it came out and I coulda sworn there were subs on the screen even then. also MAN I love Laurence Fishburne in this movie. EDIT: heck yeah, it's fun watching you guys experience these. Also, omg y'all will LOVE Ghost Protocol. I think it's my fav. It's still shocking to me how much a FOURTH entry in a series can be so good lol. Doesn't happen often, if at all besides the MI series
Could not believe it when she was sure there were no subtitles with the lip reading scene, then has the audacity to call you a prick!! Unbelievable
She’s always a bitch to him. She’s awful!!
This movie is when things start to REALLY get fun in this franchise. Miss Hoffman, he was a great actor.
this is the movie that really made me love the franchise, it was personal this time and philip was a great villain probably the best one. Can't wait to see the reactions for the rest
This one is my favorite of the series. Phil Hoffman is a great sadistic villain, and I especially like Ethan's personal life getting some screentime. Overall, a snappy thriller with great characters. My ranking for the series is 3-5-1-4-6-2. But the best action sequence in the whole series is in the next one, "Ghost Protocol".
When Ethan is talking over the radio in Brassel's voice, if you listen closely you can hear that it is actually Tom Cruise doing a Larry Fishburne impression. I only picked up on it after seeing it a couple of times.
Mission Impossible 1,3 and 4,5 and 6 and even the last two will be my favorites.
I've been waiting for this one starring my favorite Mission: Impossible villain Philip Seymour Hoffman. Great reaction!
From here on, the movies have scenes that answer the question "Has anyone tried 'this' before?"
"There was subtitles for the mouthing."
I love these posts lol
Her reaction, when the head villain dies, is priceless.
I always thought Hoffman would have made a great Penguin in Batman if written right
That would be an amazing choice. Dude was just unnerving in this movie.
Your technical difficulty moments are amazing for me. So random, non calculating, very cute moments.
This is the same guy from twister going "food... FOOOOOOD"
I’m a simpleton! Their amazing chemistry and romance make this my favorite MI. But there are impressive additions to come!
The best line EVER from the missus; "That"s the fucking plan?"😁
I love how your daughter is always classified as a "technical difficulty".
😂😂😂😂 she’s gonna be in the cast of next MI for sure 😊😊😊😊
I can't even describe the joy it gave me hearing you both say magazine instead of clip 😂
I wonder how this movie would've been with Abrams' stupid mystery box bs.
Knowing what the Rabbit's Foot really is, Ethan's relationship with Julia, how Ethan actually stole the Rabbit's Foot.
You can't exactly make an action spy movie without explaining things that are important to characters, plot, or stakes.
7:02 definitely sounded like you were asking if he already had a wife and child in the first movie. “In the first movie Didn’t Ethan already have a family?” while he’s holding his new fiancé. I would have answered the same way.
This is such an improvement on the previous two movies and if not for this one we wouldn’t have gotten three fantastic further sequels.
MI3 is another great entry!! I know people don't like MI2 or feel it's a letdown but from here on out the seires really just gets better and better. Great reaction as always.
J.J. Abrams, from years of working behind the scenes on many projects to getting major shine with television (Felicity, Lost & Alias) and co-writing Armageddon (no.1 film of 1998).
M-I:3 is his directorial film debut and his first of 3 sequels as an producer.
Because M-I:2, despite it's success was considered the weakest and a new direction had to be set onward.
So M-I:3 is direct sequel to the first film and just as good, beat for beat.
Stakes have certainly grown higher as The late Philip Seymour Hoffman is incredibly vicious as Davien.
Hunt and co. still defy the odds even when his potential marriage is in danger.
All over the place and just an incredible sequel.
From here on out, every mission connects.
4-6 are really going to blow your mind.
20:45 "They just have to paint it, and hair it ..."
Oh! And somehow magically grow Ethan by 3 inches. 😁
Arguably. The best of the first 3 for sure. Top 3 of entire series
I haven't seen such expressive hand usage since the last thing I saw Jeremy Davies in. A comment that will only be understood by dozens of Jeremy Davies fans. When I saw him in Lost, the "hand expressiveness" gave me immediate flashbacks to one of his first gigs...young dude in a Subaru commercial...
I'm pretty sure PSH could make watching paint dry interesting. The man was a legendary talent, RIP.
OOOOH BOY! Ghost Protocal is NEXT!
You see what happens when you make them big ass hand gestures?! you summon the child!
I learn so much about you guys from your interaction with the Little Movies.
27:55 "Saul Goodman" 😆😆
The subtitle argument is so funny - and ending marriages is just another reason why player generated captions suck.
Henry Czerny's return as Kittridge will be good.
This and Fallout are tied for my is my favorite MIP movies, it’s so thrilling, we’ll made, and the series best villain
They are FANTASTIC movies from here on out.
Don't interrupt me when I am asking rhetorical questions 😆
Never seen the Mrs be so overjoyed at seeing the bad guy lose his head.
Daughter interruptions actually add to the reactions. I don't think I am the only one.
Fighting over subtitles lol priceless 😆 deep breath 😮💨
Wrong about mouthing subtitles. Wrong about not being a bad guy. The rare two-fer from our hostess with the mostest. :-)
In the real world the pursuing attack helicopter - not being flown by idiots - would just fly (this is the important part) >over< the wind turbines and shoot >down< at the fleeing Huey.
I can't believe Mav wouldn't know that.
The fact that so many streaming services don't have NECESSARY subtitles on by default is so annoying. Seen it in this movie, A Quiet Place, etc.
With J.J. Abrams at the helm this felt like an amped-up episode of Alias. I guess this is why they asked him to direct this one, because for me the second one was a huge let-down.

It was fun watching Mrs. Movies go all Palpatine against Owen Davian lol. She's seen Star Wars, right?
The mask would actually be highly possible and logical. That's how 3D printing from photoscanning actually works. You take multiple photographs for multiple angles and then have a software interpret them in 3D space to give you a 3D mesh. The only issue is, at least for us mortals (perhaps there's better hidden tech) we have to use software like ZBrush to clean up the photoscans only to then go ahead and print it. But yeah that face scan tech is actually highly realistic although a little too fast for at least what we have in the market.
21:19 Comment 21:13 -Ernie Moore Jr.
How come the daughter didn't get her usual whoops, cheers and fanfare when she made her entrance?!?!?
She did on the second appearance
"There seems to be a lot of turnaround in that line of... of IMF."
Understatement of the history of movies.
I love the Mr and Mrs
Great reactions you two....
Talk about a funny bit of irony, I just showed my girlfriend this movie tonight (it was a first time watch for her too). And she also liked it as well 😁
He didn't jump off the building that was done on a soundstage qith green screen ...he still did a big jump but the buildings were composited in after
Tom Cruise didn’t jump from an actual building (in this movie). It was a soundstage that was 5 stories tall. HOWEVER, starting with the next Mi movie, Tom Cruise does all his own stunts for real(no green screens). The next movie he famously climbs and runs down the tallest building in the world. As a result of doing his own stunts in the real locations they are able to put the camera close enough to show you that it really is him doing these stunts. At this point whenever a Tom Cruise movie comes out they usually release a behind the scenes stunt trailer/featurette. For the latest MI movie they have one called “Tom Cruise Deadliest stunt in the world” where they show you how he rides a motorcycle off of a cliff!!!!
This one blew me away seeing it in the theater for a first time watch. Probably still my favorite although next weeks Ghost Protocol gives it a run for it's money. My favorite new member of the team was Maggie Q, but she was a one and done, Simon Pegg's character Benji sticks around from here on out and the franchise is better for it. I still think this franchise as well as the Jason Bourne franchise have overtaken the 007/ Bond franchise as the best spy/ espionage films.
The beginning was intense as hell
It just struck me PSM had to play tom cruise pretending to be him in this goddamn what a legend why do all the good ones die young
You're gonna love the next one!!!!
I've seen mission Impossible 2, 3 and fallout at the theatres.
Wrong year lol 2006 not 2003, I thought I was crazy for a sec
2:34 they literally say 2006 and the vid title says 2006. Maybe you are crazy
@@surlycanadian It was wrong before, they corrected it, weirdo
@@aj897 wait, so they have the correct year of release in the vid title, and then they briefly said the wrong year before very quickly correcting it and you still felt it was was worthwhile commenting on the brief mistake? That sounds very normal.
Every star of the show has their food desires... Me, I prefer the red and green Skittles over the yellow ones... So, no yellow Skittles for me...
The star wants cut apples... Not a difficult request... Healthier than my Skittles...
It is hard for me to rank the MI movies. Of the first 3, I'd probably say 3, 1, 2... But I really like Thandie Newton so maybe just because of her that would be 2 on my list of the fist 3. Simone Pegg was a great addition to the team and going forward. I was disappointed Maggie Q didnt continue I really like her as well. One thing is the casts of the MI movies are always stacked with talent.
24:09 Mr Movies been watching too much Hannibal lately? 😂 Theodore maybe who you’re thinking of, or as these types of characters usually get referred to by their last names, Brassel?
This one has always been my fav, obviously because of the legendary PSH.
The next Mission Impossible mission should be getting through a reaction video without being interrupted by the kiddos lol
When are we going to see you continue reacting to more seasons of 24?
Little princess is tired.
Hope you do ghost protocol in the next reaction
I wonder if the least realistic thing about these movies is just how easily building windows shatter...
Your daughter's opening summary of this film was great. Equal parts apple and cheese.
Love this movie but there is absolutely no way Davian heard Luther say "Ethan" .
It always bothered me that the nose-bomb guy and the kidnapper guy are never caught or killed in this movie. They just get away!
Well Mister...solidarity with you my friend. @ 29:30...oh I've been THERE, lol. You were right...AND had to endure. :( I sure hope you got an apology!
Your adorable daughter breaks my heart. Cut her some more apple. She's a good kid.
40:55 react 41:00 -Ernie Moore Jr.
Philip Seymour Hoffman is the best villain in the M:I movies!
Nope, Solomon Lane.
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE REACTIONS ARE ALL I CARE ABOUT THEY JUST GET BETTER ANS BETTER
I'll watch it with you two. This was the last one that I've watched so the other will be new to me.
pretty sure this is my favorite one!
"That's wild speculation..."
Worse than never explaining the Rabbits Foot, the scene explaining what it might be is even dumber. What is it? It doesn't matter because it never does anything or ever comes into play. It's just a lazy macguffin word they throw around to try and cobble together a plot.
At this moment my ranking would be 6, 5, 4, 1, 3, 2.
4, 5, and 6 are all really close, 1 and 3 are slightly below the other three, and 2 just doesn’t work for me.
MOAR IMPOSSIBLE MISSIONS!!!
Yes. More Mission Impossibles is good with me.
Playing with the Chickens? Montana hehe
...5 more movies: _Dead Reckoning: Part 1_ ...
I feel the pain, When you are really looking forward to that apple slice and your sibling eats the last one...
MI3 is such a great movie. This, collateral and edge of tomorrow are easily the best cruise movies
I wanna see them watch Scary movie (2000) since it’s a parody of scream and I know what you did last summer
