We just received the DX-260C this evening. Of course the first thing I did after dinner was unbox it, clean it, and fill the oil in order to try it out. Since we're still waiting for the real chamber vac bags we ordered, I made bags to fit a family dinner worth of chicken legs with the regular textured bags with my 16 year old Foodsaver GameSaver+, just using the seal only and cutter.
The Vevor worked great on our very first try. My wife and I watched the timer go to zero, and then the sudden implosion of the had us in amazement! It was tight as a drum when the top lifted, and we were quite entertained by it all. This unit looks industrial too, like a design more at home in a commercial setting than something that belongs in a kitchen. We'll be moving it to a more permanent spot close to the freezers this weekend after our real bags arrive.
I thought it would be louder. This is way quieter than my old Foodsaver. That's one hefty air pump in there too. That's probably at least 70% of the unit's weight right there. It's a beast!
Thanks for your review. I suppose I should have watched your video before trying it out, instead of after. I'm stubborn that way.

I love mine; my wife got me that model, last Christmas. I've been wanting on for years, but a grand was always out of my budget. I've had a Food Saver for over 30 years, bags are to $$ and they loose the seal all the time, at least 30% of the time. Plus ya cant do liquids with a food saver. This Vevor is a dam good machine. Corn was on sale last month at 9 cents an ear and I vacuum packed 20 ears, 4 per bag, sweet. I should have bought more. Nice video.

I've had one sitting in a cart online for weeks ... been debating which one to get for months. The Vevor has made its way to the top of my list for the size, easy controls up front, wide sealing bar, and the vacuum gauge. I'm just trying to figure out where I'm going to store/use it ... since it won't be able to earn a place on the kitchen counter due to the size. Certainly don't want to be lugging it up and down the stairs from the basement too much.

Howdy Ricer. So out of curiosity can this unit do the "canned" in a bag stuff? I know there are some chamber vacs with the right bags( some using mylar) that you can essentially can in the bag. Shelf stable. FYI, at the price you mentioned this is the way to go. Have a great day. Oh, as a side bar. If you're vacuum pac works really really good, does it still suck? 😂😅😂😊

    • @g-whiz286

I think you are referring to retort canning. These will seal a retort bag just fine, but the sealed bags still need a trip through the pressure canner to be shelf stable.

Only foods with low water availability can be vacuum sealed and be shelf stable. So anything moist is generally a no-no. Dried fruit is OK because all of the "available" water is tied up with sugar.
