People are angry about Carl dying for nothing but Siddiq did a lot of important things like delivering Maggie’s baby and ha taught Enid to be a doctor then she saved Aaron
And who knows what great things his daughter might do in the future.
Peaceful Explorer It’s more of a matter of not seeing more of him since there was a time jump. Yes he lived for years but we didn’t get to see much of him with everyone. Also adding to the fact Carl saved him & now both are dead. Lots of people left the show for Carl so now that siddiq is dead, it hurts even more. So I get why people are angry.
I was pissed off he got killed so easily but to think carl's death was useless it's like if we blame Beth dying for the black guy 'I forgot his name' they live in an apocalypse world it's totally normal there are people who die for others...
I just find it weird that Dante seen first hand that a community like Alexandria can still exist, yet still stays loyal to the whisperers.
Many people in cults live poorly yet choose to stay and fight rescue. Ask some of R Kelly's little girls.
Probable because he also see how easy it is to destroy as well

Ezekiel was totally referring to the fans when he said: "I thought he was one of the people who would live forever. Not really, but you know..." Because Carl saving Siddiq was kind of supposed to make him a protected character :D

Personally, I think the most contrived thing you can do with stories is for a character's significance to dictate their fate. Even if Siddiq died two episodes after Karl died saving him, or if he continued to live but were a useless character, that wouldn't be bad writing to me. It's just a mirror to life. People do save others' lives, who then sometimes squander them or don't live long despite it. I don't like plot choices based on meta criteria, like fan service.
Like the notion that significant characters must have significant deaths, for example. To me that's actually bad writing, because it's about external expectations rather than naturalistic storytelling. Fans get pissed whenever a major character has occasionally gotten seemingly randomly bitten, for instance. But in a world where that's a daily obstacle I actually think it would happen more frequently than depicted. Not everyone's story has catharsis, nor should it.

Jacky Lawrence people wanted a fulfilling end for Carl. This isn’t reality, and he had far more potential as a character.

Loved this episode, the first 5 minutes with Dante & Rosita had me SHOOK!
Thank you Angela Kang, for making me rediscover my love for this show with season 9-10.

tonight EVERYONE has shown how they lost their moral compass in this episode, Rostia, Gabriel, Carol, all became judge and jury, damn the fallout, fighting,lying,and killing proving that no one is immune in this world to succumbing to the horrors of who really is good or "bad" it is within all of us.
Really? Personally, the only one that I think went "against their moral compass" was Father Gabriel. And even then I did not have an issue with it except for how hypocritical he was by killing Dante after he had laid in to Carol last episode for making decisions on her own, not involving the council, etc. But that's just my opinion. ;)
@@icooley7391 'Hypocritical' what met that bar MORE to me was him killing the Savior at the Satellite Outpost. He killed him WITHOUT emotion, it was 'cold-bloodied' murder, admittedly as a 'Christian' I found it OFFENSIVE of him. He betrayed his vows MORE in that instance then this one in my opinion. Here, there was DEEP SEATED RAGE, there was genuine EMOTIONAL PAIN, there was a sense of BETRAYAL & perhaps GUILT. It was not less a 'MURDER' but he actually had a 'reason' (not an excuse) for that reaction this time. There was NONE of that at the Outpost.
Yes! Someone with the same view about this ep as me. Rosita being strong and badass character becomes fearful and kinda soft, opposite with Gabe that went full Murder Rick.
Ms. Byrd Gabriel betrayed his vows when he locked the church doors and listened to his congregation get slaughtered - he killed them even if it wasn’t by his own hands
Carol didn't lose any moral compass. She just continued on the same uncontrolled rage induced mission to kill Alpha to avenge Henry that she has been on all season but now it led the whole group into a trap.
THis entire first half of the this season Carol has just been on a downward spiral, with her choices getting more and more reckless. Lying to Daryl, Driving Lydia away, Wanting to hunt down Alpha on her own..all choice that place the communities in danger.
Manuel Longoria so true. The show is doing a great job of showing carol hit rock bottom. Her choices are putting everyone in danger. Yet again, if alpha cut my child’s head off and stuck it on a stick, I would run after her too. Carol also lost every child she has become close with. So I understand why carol is doing this.
shes broken, shes been on drugs for awhile and can't see anything past revenge.
for those who say Carl died for NOTHING.. Carl SAVED Saddiq.. Saddiq SAVED Negan.. Negan WILL help take down the Whisperers.. Carl didnt die for Nothing.. congrats on the 100K !!

Jules the woman that he's interested in at Oceanside is also an infiltrator whisperer, can't know for sure but i promise you, every character someone gets attached to this season is a whisperer.

Still got a full Dante backstory and have only gotten pieces of Negan backstory. We need an entire episode just like we got with the governor telling his backstory I think we deserve it

I was thinking maybe Alpha made Siddiq cut the heads off of the group while keeping them zombified based on his medical experience. I don’t know how that would have been known that he’s a doctor but then again this is a show about zombies so I’m not trying too hard to grasp for straws.

Too bad she hesitated in killing Dante. Rosita might as well have slaughtered Dante right then and there since Gabriel did it anyway later in the episode.

The tension between characters reminds me of Rick and Co.'s problem with original Alexandria. They were too sheltered from the outside world and became weak because of it.

I think Dante follows alpha because he believes that alpha will win in the end because she has an army of walkers, so he thought he was choosing the victorious team
and do not forget that Dante saw how the Alfa kidnapped people from this community and killing them and this gives him the idea that she can catch him if he betrayed her.
He thinks that this community is weak and will fall anyway and he is smart to choose an alpha group. Also, his existence with Alpha Makes him feel power and control and that he is the gods of the end of the world as if he is a part of something big and also the jokes that he was telling to Siddiq about being like the gods "chooses who lives and who dies.".

I think the writers of season 10 did a great job at bringing a certain element of threat and horror back into the show.

My first thought was that Siddiq was the mole because his baby & Rosita were threatened by Alpha, and because I really thought it was too obvious that Dante would be the mole - his literal name even gives it away (see Dante's "Inferno.") Pretty much any character with the name 'Dante' will be at least a bit sketchy if not straight up evil.
Well a good thing from this episode is that Aaron has returned from his stint as a nincompoop.

Ok so i have been thinking what if the reason she took Rick is because she thinks he is immune but then you think oh well Carl would have been immune as well....but he got bit....and never turned..he killed himself before he had a chance to die and turn, and it would be hard to believe that Rick wasn't bitten in a river filled with walkers. I agree, for Mid-Season Finale material this episode was definitely weak think of 207 (sophia in the barn), 308 (michonne & gov fight & daryl captured & made to fight merle), 408 (TOO FAR GONE), 508 (Beth & Reunions), 608/609 (NO WAY OUT ARC & CARL'S EYE) etc. are ALL almost in the top 10 or 20 of the entire show (maybe not 308 but still) especially noticed them dulling them down with last season the one with Jesus & the Whisperer reveal was phenomenal at the end but a slow build up the rest of the time & that's how this was too imo.
The episode felt really slow, but by the sneak peak it’s looking amazing
