      Bosa kept turning his back on the guard. Then the guard just pushes him down. Refs aren't going to call holding unless the guard has a hand full of jersey.

      There were two lineman downfield on one lineman. One stayed engaged (no penalty). The other disengaged before Mahomes threw the ball. He held on to the ball for so long because the play was busted and he didn't know what to do. WR was confused too. Everyone's looking around waiting before they celebrated bc they knew it was busted.

    Thanks for breaking down the Kelce play, it was a great design and it set up SF for the corndog play. Nick Bosa should have stopped and smelled the turf because his intensity was used against him. I though about Chris Jones in the Ravens game; when he was left alone, and he did not react, just waited in front of Jackson thus hindering Jackson's pass to the WR.

    The 49ers are not getting back to the SB next year. I really believe they may have missed their window to win it all. CMC, Deebo, and Trent Williams are getting older, so they have two years to win it, unless Purdy becomes a superstar. This year they could have easily lost to Green Bay or Detroit, neither of these teams were juggernauts; and next year they're not gonna just let SF get back to the SB. This was their time to win and they missed it.

    • @deemity7557

      I mean, they have next year before they gotta decide whether to pay Purdy. With how weak the NFC is, I could see the Niners making it back next year for one last ride

      @@deemity7557 Purdy missed about four throws that could have changed the game but he also didn’t throw any interceptions. What concerns me is that Mahomes has 3 interceptions against the Niners in the 2 SBs and in both he was victorious.
      I think the Niners best path to winning it all, is obviously taking care of business against the NFC but avoiding Mahomes in the SB. Perhaps they hope Cincinnati or Buffalo do their dirty work and host them in the SB.
      If they face Mahomes again, he’ll be even better in the next game. Buffalo lost heartbreaking playoff games to Mahomes, 3 in a row in the playoffs.

    • @jyc313
      @jyc313 3 месяца назад +2

      I don't think Deebo will get back to his old self, he's too fragile now. Let's assume Purdy becomes even better - he certainly has the talent and disposition for it. Even so, it's getting harder for the Niners, at least with the current team. If we look at just two of their key players - Kittle at 30 and CMC at 27... they probably have about 3 years max of peak effectiveness, given the physical nature of their positions.

    • @fatesgates8393
      @fatesgates8393 3 месяца назад +4

      @@jyc313 I agree. I forgot about Kittle. I remember the 2001 Rams with 28 year old Marshall Faulk. They never got back and that team already won the SB. 1997 Packers, 2010 Steelers, 2014 Seahawks same thing. They lost & didn’t get back.
      Teams who did not win with their core players rarely make it back. This Niners team made it back and lost in heartbreak fashion twice, two blown 10 point leads. It’s just too much to overcome mentally.

    Good video breakdown. I agree with a lot of your critique, especially the soft coverage. The loss of Greenlaw took away some of the exotic blitzes the Niners sometimes ran. Mooney Ward is a very capable press corner when he plays it, but he was way too far off the receivers on the drive shown here. One thing I disagree with you is on whether to 'zero blitz' Mahomes. I think you have to do this on occasion, but you have to pick your moments and the coverage has to do a better job of disguising it. If the corners or safeties press up a little, it puts some additional pressure and angst on Mahomes to throw the ball quickly. He doesn't make mistakes often, but those are the times he does. And yes, Warner of course was held by the RB (unless you consider a block grabbing someone around the waist from behind). Warner possibly gets in quick enough to impede or deflect the throw otherwise (as the Chiefs did several times in the game).

    Pacheco definitely had the first down on that play where Fred Warner tackled him but all niners fans see is the calls they didn't get🤨the chiefs received more yards in penalties than the niners,yet the forty winners crying 😭 rigged by the refs🤨...... pathetic!

      It's corn dog. Mahomes puts the WR in motion toward him to get the CB focused inward, and then the WR plants his foot and goes the other way before the CB can respond, or he switches to another guy. Both late TDs in last year's Super Bowl were the same play.

      @@markb3786 It's not Corn Dog. It's a variation of it. As Corn Dog was for the Eagles Defense.
