Love creme brulee and my blow torch is my fav tool as well ! ❤ I make reconstructed cheesecake cups for my dinner parties...easy and can make ahead ! Delivers on taste. Smash 1pkt Arnotts butternut snap biscuits to make a crumb Melt just enough butter to coat the biscuit crumb and mix together. You don't want it too wet. A wet sand consistency is perfect. Spoon this mixture into serving glasses - about 2cm of crumb in each glass...DONT PACK IT FIRMLY DOWN....LEAVE IT LOOSE. Blend 1pkt cream cheese, a teaspoon of vanilla extract and condensed milk...(use as much or as little to your desired sweetness) blend altogether until well combined. Then pour over top of biscuit crumb. Then use fresh or canned passionfruit pulp...use seeds or strain them... whatever you prefer...spoon over top of creme mixture to cover. Can add berries to garnish the passionfruit layer if u like. Ready to eat immediately or can refrigerate for a firmer consistency. BON APPETITE 😊
I made this for Christmas and it went down a treat 😋 I changed up the ingredients a little as I wanted to use condensed and evaporated milk, I’ll leave my ingredients below. My own oven cooked these much faster so I would recommend checking after 15 mins. For 12: 30g Milk Powder 300ml evaporated Milk 600ml Double Cream 2 tsp Vanilla Extract 12 Large Egg Yolks 180g condensed milk This works a gorgeous custard or eggnog as well
Creamy velvety and bitter ( burnt sugar) always works. It’s always a great combo… like the pastel de nata, creamy and bitter burnt top. Yum yum !! Very continental. 🎉
I received a set of ramekins for my birthday a few months ago thinking I’d never be able to make creme brûlée. I also have some double cream powder which I hope will work as good as milk powder. So this weekend we are having a great dessert. It is our 49th wedding anniversary of our third marriage this weekend too.
Are GU containers safe to place under the grill? I've been dying to try making crème brûlée in them but I don't have a blow torch and I'm scared they'll shatter!
Wow I love creme brûlée and yours sound delicious.. but I'm old school and prefer liquid caramel at the bottom of the dish 😋. I also love a crisp and crumbly biscuit, the kind that melts in your mouth, and I've been hanging on hoping for a recipe and tutorial. Any chance you can put one up on RUclips please???? 😃
Let me guess.... 🤔 the ramekins are from Gu puddings 🤭 am I wrong? tempted to give this a shot! Paranoid that it would turn into a rubbery mess though 😬
I made creme brûlée in Oui yogurt jar once. When I torched the sugar the glass shattered. It may be possible to do it carefully, but there must be a different quality of glass.
@ I just add in the malted milk powder with the flour, baking powder and salt - i use 50 or so grams less flour and add back that same amount of malted milk powder. i’ve never tried reconstituting it first, but that might be an interesting experiment
And what if you’re lactose intolerant? I’ve never seen lactose free milk powder before. I don’t have a cows milk allergy so I can use lactose free dairy milk and cream.
What a great spin on a perennial favorite! I'm going to do this over the holidays. Thank you.
You’re very welcome! ❤
That looks absolutely amazing, as always!
“If it catches fire just blow it out” 😂 brilliant! Thank you so much for all these in depth videos.
😂😂😅
I made this today - Fabulous, as always! Thank you.
I’m glad you enjoyed it!! ❤
Oh, my days!
I can't wait to make these 😍
Can’t wait to try this! Thanks for sharing!
Love a crème brûlée!! Recipe looks lush especially with toasted milk will be trying x

These look so so delicious. Thank you Jemma!
Just a suggestion, a cinnamon roll flavored NY cookie (i.e. icing in the center) would be fantastic! Thanks for such great content :)
We would LOVE a cinnamon roll cookie 😍

One of my fave treats! 🩷

Mmmm custard. Not just for the holidays!

Oh I love this - the perfect time to get those ramekins out!
Hello everyone! In Spain, we have a similar Catalan dessert called Crema Catalana.
I'm very interested in this delicious sounding dessert!!
Love it! 🥰
Love this! Do you please have a Brownie recipe that is just like in the restaurants, a bit fudgy, served hot with ice cream and not too sweet?
I love my creme brulee hot. So i put the sugar on and put it under the broiler in a preheated oven. Oh and I love brown sugar the best 😋
Oh that sounds delightful! 😍
I collect those little dishes too was going to use them to make candles but this seems a much better option delicious 👍🏻😊❤️
They’re so handy aren’t they! And ya know, delicious desserts twice 😏😂
you goddamn genius. was about to throw away all my unused powdered milk.
Pls pls pls make the viral matilda cake!!!! Would love the recipe ❤
Delicious!!!!
Thank you!
What temperature is the oven at when we bake the crème brûlée?
Full fat milk powder can be found at any south Asian grocery store. We use it mostly in our Asians sweets/desserts
Special dish
what was the brand of saucepan you used to toast the milk powder in please, been looking for one like that for agess. thank you x
Gu is going to send you so many now. Oh my lord.
I hope so 😏
@@CupcakeJemma just got a badge from you, second time you’ve replied to a comment! Thanks xo love you

They are! (This is what I used for mine 😏)

Liquid caramel at the bottom of the dish is crème caramel, not crème brûlée... :)
Ahh yes of course haha. In that case I prefer creme caramel, most definitely 😀
that is a Crème Caramel which I dont believe we've done on the channel yet 👀😏
@@CupcakeJemma LOVE crème caramel
What can I substitute Double Cream for as I can’t buy it here in Germany? 😢 It looks really great though, thx for the recipe!
schlagsahne
Cream with about 35% milk fat
Any sort of heavy cream :)
Waiting as always
❤❤❤

LOL you are correct! Many chocolate mousses were consumed to make this video 😏
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What kind of jar does jemma use? Can I find it on amazon?
If you are in the US, the Oui yogurt containers work well! They are a little smaller but pretty if you take the labels off
I made creme brûlée in Oui yogurt jar once. When I torched the sugar the glass shattered. It may be possible to do it carefully, but there must be a different quality of glass.
@biophile2 oh that's fair! I did it with flan and figured it'd be the same but that makes 100% sense!
can you toast malted milk powder? i have that on hand when i make chocolate chip cookies
How do you use it in the cookies? M curious as ive never tried it

@ oooo i should try this when I am trying jemma creme brulee by toasting a bit more milk powder. Thank you soo much for replying
I wouldn't toast malted milk powder - the maltyness should be flavourful enough 🩷
Are the ramekins 150 ml or 180 ml or? 🤔
They're around 115g/ml each
@CupcakeJemma thanks so much Jemma! 😍🙋🏻♀️
Not a fan of vanilla so crème brula & egg custard tarts to me are flavourless unless with tones of nutmeg
And what if you’re lactose intolerant? I’ve never seen lactose free milk powder before. I don’t have a cows milk allergy so I can use lactose free dairy milk and cream.
We've not tried a lactose free milk powder unfortunately, but I'm sure you can find one!
I can only think of Little Britain when I hear bitty.
LOOOL this is what Nikki said while we were filming!
Crème brûlée is just so damn sexy. Delicious
It is SUCH a sexy dessert!
are those cake on top are real or just decorations?
Well, they’ve been here since they made a book, like at least one year, so. 🤔🤗
LOL believe it or not, they are different cakes from shoots throughout the years. All fake!
