Add to that the problem of deepwells, which was used extensively by commercial and industrial corporations that drained huge amounts of groundwater, leading to Manila sinking. Though now banned, many are still operating illegally.

You should have stayed at Belmont Hotel, this is near terminal 3 and you just need to pass/walk through runway Manila, very convenient. That is where we’re always staying every time we come home from UAE.

my husband had to rebook his flight as he had to come from Tanauan and roads were unpassable and buses were not available. He had to pay for the difference for the rebooking. 😥😭
As a foreigner who has lived in the Philippines for many years, I do not think the immigration system is "broken". None of your issues are the fault of Philippines Immigration, are they? Your passport was lost by the British Embassy? And Philippines Immigration clearly tell people who require an exit clearance that they should apply well in advance of departure from the Philippines. And ECC is valid for one month, from date of issue, so there's no excuse for leaving it to the last minute.
