    Big C Extra was formerly Carrefour superstore. Carrefour stated business in Thailand about 30 years ago but didn't make good profit so they sold their stores to Big C.
    I heard you speak Thai! and the title of your video is your 1st time in Thailand. How do you learn to speak Thai?

    As a Thai, I recommend 1.Maepranom Thai chilli paste in a glass bottle (good for cooking stir fried meat/noodle, tom yum soup, Thai chilli crab/chicken ) Choose the less hot type)
    2. Dried tom yum herb in a package
    3. Maepranom Thai chilli paste spread for bread (put pork floss on top of the chilli paste bread, guarantee)
    4.Curry paste (Green curry, panang, tom ka) Can be either Lobo or Kanonkwan brand
    You can make green curry fried rice from the green curry paste beside only curry soup
    5.pork floss (moo yong)
    I write this list in Thai so you can show a staff in a super market.

      I don't think you will have extra time to look around an open-air market in some Thai universities such as Mahidol (Friday), Chula, Silpakorn, Thammasat etc.
      I go to only Mahidol friday market since near me. A lot of cheap and tasty international food, and also various products.
      Since you are in the city, may be you can go to Srinakarin wirot university in Asok (SWU)- every Friday evening 4-9 pm and on this 19th there will many shows performed beside food and products.

    23:38 - Roti Sai-Mai.. (Roti Thai traditional style)... Once in 2023 when Lisa of Blackpink came home to visit, she shared her trip in Ayudhaya, buying and eat this one. It's one in many Thai dessert she likes. 🙂
    And with Khanom Krok, the different seasonings inside make the original taste of Khanom Krok becomes weaker. / Only one seasoning which doesn't have this effect is "coconut". // Because if we don't put any seasoning inside, Coconut milk is already its main ingredient. I love to eat it purely, very delicious. Good to be both meal's entrée or dessert. 🙂

    There are more than 10 million foreign workers from neighbouring countries (Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam) in Thailand and most of them live in Bangkok. It 's very likely that you come across these people more than Thais. They look a bit different from Thais though. They are a lot shorter, slimmer, and darker (particularly Cambodian). Most of them speak Thai.

    • @ChovyTravel
      @ChovyTravel  5 месяцев назад +5

      That’s absolutely crazy! Hopefully they’re here in Thailand for the right reasons and not to cause trouble or be a nuisance to the Thai people. Based on what we know, Thai people do work really hard and a lot of them have a smile on their face doing their job.

    Lobo is good. We used to use it when I lived in the US.
    Tomyum, you only need fresh chilli, lime, (lemon glass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves), namprik Pao. Fresh lemon glass, galangal and kaffir lime leaves maybe hard to find in the US but there are some in namprikpao. So you can skip those in your tomyum.
    Namprik Pao are sold in Asian shop.

However the Big C which opposite Central world is look better due to the location and lots of foreigner that they have to make it look good.Nonetheless, the price in main mall are same.

    The local dish you tried that you called curry, it's Seafood Pad Cha, it's kind of seafood stir fried with herb like lime leaves, galangal , big brown onions ,garlic , fresh chilli and they might put a little of chillipaste (chilli in oil) and soy sauce. The dessert in small cup, "Kanom Thuay" made from coconut milk, palm sugar and a little of salt, some might added pandan for nice smell.
    The fried pork is sun dried pork, it's a little dry.

    I really like your English speaking. The accent is so beautiful, easy to catch up. Especially the woman's accent. It's like watching a Disney movie. You look so cute when you enjoy eating and excited with food. 27:44 the taste a bit sour from tamarind juice we put on our Thai style fried noodles including Padthai. How can you eat all in one day? Amazing ❤😮😅😊😂

      100% Agree! Thank you for the tip! We’re just not too handy with filming. By any chance would you know the adjustments? I believe we tried sports mode and standard for the GoPro but it still flickers 🙏.

    • @vuongverlinden
      @vuongverlinden 5 месяцев назад +1

      There is an anti-flicker mode on the go pro, try change it to 50 fps instead of 60 fps. you have to match your frame rate with the frequency of the lights you are in. In North and South America it’s 60 Hz and in Europe, Africa and Asia, it’s 50Hz.
