- WHAT IS AN ISCHEMIC STROKE?
ISCHEMIA is defined as a decreased or inadequate supply of blood (and oxygen) to any part of the body.
A stroke, also called a brain attack, occurs when blood is not able to reach parts of the brain, due to a blockage or rupture of an artery.
Ischemic Stroke
In an ischemic stroke an artery within the brain, becomes occluded by a clot, not allowing blood to pass to brain tissue.

thank you
Thank you for watching!
My mother had a embolic stroke after her bypass heart surgery, its been 1.5 months , she has started responding using signs but not vocally , she has movements in her both legs and arms but too much weakness, how long will it take to recover from embolic stroke , she is 66 year old
That is difficult to say… it depends on many things, especially if parts of her brain was damaged from being deprived of blood & oxygen.
Every patient is different. If she has a neurologist, they could give you more details as to the brain’s (stroke) status. I wish her then best of health.
